Scott Coleman is a good player but I’ve seen him almost disappear in more competitive games. Dayne has played at a high level and still has a lot of ability but you will not see him box to box for 90mins ever! He’s just not that type of player. I’ve been critical of the select team in the past but I can’t be this time round as Disney has taken it in again when others probably would have bolted after a year. Good luck to all the lads involved: after the poor start to the season Leafa has had with teams folding etc maybe the select will help restore the associations reputation

Lothian vale get a mention in the paper for that game against calvary. What they done is quite shite to be honest but I can understand their ruthlessness in wanting to win every game they can, being a new team and stuff.

I have to agree. When I played I used to go home after a game on a Saturday wishing for Monday or Wednesday so I could train/play again. Nowadays I get the impression that guys can’t be bothered. Even during a game I have seen guys have rotten body language like they don’t want to be there. It’s getting more and more difficult to run an amateur team so fair play to all the guys still doing it

I feel a bit sorry for Pennies to be honest. I think a lot of clubs are envy of them wether that be due to their success or any other reason I don’t know but as I’ve said before I see a similarity between them and Sandys as a lot of clubs envy Sandys too. The difference is Sandys have had troubled times but always respond stronger and stronger and that is a quality that should never be taken for granted. It’s sad to see pennies leave the league as they would have made the league stronger but obviously it proved very difficult to continue under the circumstances. I just think the select team came up short when a lot of people expected them to do better. That’s what I meant by hype. It’s not an easy job, I don’t think it’s a job you can do fully whilst running another team either, but obviously you are willing to do it which is fair play to you!

I see Disney is continuing as Leafa select manager for the forth coming fixtures. I expect a team made up from tollcross , sandys, laurieston, cp united, esv and Meadowbank. I do not see any other player from any other side inLeafa being good enough to break into the select. Hard job picking the boys good enough to challenge. Failed to live up to the hype last season as a select side so hopefully go a bit better this season
