  1. Nothing zany about it - there always was a league signing deadline in Scottish senior football. The play off rule was introduced more recently to make matters fairer as SPFL clubs had to operate with a transfer window
  2. Albeit this involved a blatant offside
  3. Yes it is professional sport not some sort of recreational pastime
  4. It was worth it if that means we aren’t allied to punters like you who simply misrepresent the view of CFC in a few glib words. Or who use the ‘power’ of the red dot as some sort of shock and awe response rather than having any real grasp of the range of issues involved.
  5. No backroom dealings - just a normal discussion. Feedback was crystal clear.
  6. No point arguing with folks like you obviously with your Trumpian sense of reality
  7. The Conference League wasn’t the last time - try and keep up
  8. Have seen the straight answer published on here - but I guess you are looking for simplistic and slavish support of your viewpoint rather than a reasoned explanation as already communicated
  9. What prompts this summer resurgence? Cowden didn’t struggle to explain - they explained in quite a bit of detail. Much more detail than any other club as far as I can see. Squirming hasn’t been required just a balanced and thoughtful approach.
  10. He played against East Kilbride last week
  11. We aren’t struggling near the bottom - we are mid table 28 points off the bottom
  12. Yes stands of 500 or more capacity need a safety certificate to meet fire safety requirements
  13. No they couldn’t as that would exceed the capacity which is deliberately set at 499 rather than 500.
  14. Of course when down to 10 men then there is naturally more scope for opposition in box (without taking into account many fans also want teams to have 2 defenders on the posts plus other players as outlets at half way!)
  15. Yes and one merged Fife team in the SPFL and Dundee and Dundee United merged plus a Lanarkshire United in the SPFL. That’s your basic argument
  16. No Viaplay probably likely next season
  17. Why look at the pyramid below - shouldn’t LL have at most 1 up and a play off involving second bottom? That gives you 4 clubs in a play off system with a possible two being promoted. Again looking at pyramid if the LL looks upwards which surely it should be if it aspires to raise standards that is the system that largely applies in SPFL - so there is a case for that. The HL of course is different.
  18. Would maybe assume there was a loan until January window with original intention Rose would then permanently sign Buchanan in January. As part of overall deal Liam might already have already signed cancellation of existing Berwick contract dated for January which would have allowed him to sign for Bonnyrigg. They have now decided they don’t want to do that so Liam becomes a free agent after Berwick lodged cancellation. Thus he played as trialist before signing a new Berwick deal.
  19. Craig Hepburn felt Ill during the warm up hence the late team change. Goal scorer was confirmed as Josh Jack - who was also unlucky with a cracker of a free kick tipped onto the crossbar
  20. Is the position that Liam was loaned to Bonnyrigg until January window and they then had the option to sign him on a permanent basis but have chosen not to?
  21. I think the member clubs of the SFA vote on changes to its rules and regulations so clubs and their leagues would take into account in advance any knock on impact on them from such SFA votes.
  22. The rule has just been changed to a doctor at every home match instead of a doctor at every match. Apart from the cost and lack of availability of doctors the key issue for ex-SPFL clubs dropping down was that in the SPFL where most clubs are bronze level when you went away from home if home club had doctor present that would suffice for both teams. Cowdenbeath therefore in the SPFL would pay for a doctor to attend their home matches and use away team doctor for cover at away matches. A paramedic can only be used for occasional cover not on a regular basis - eg your own doctor was not available for some reason for one match or if team you were visiting were entry level and would not have their own doctor present. Once relegated to LL, Cowdenbeath would have needed to fund a doctor at every away match as well (apart from at Cumbernauld as they have a bronze licence). It is hard enough for clubs to get home doctor cover - travelling round the country to away games is not attractive to most doctors and would be very expensive. If you are lucky you have a doctor who is a fan and who may even become a board member.
  23. No SFA just approves rule changes - would not be tenable or practical needing all rules to be agreed annually anew. The existing rules have already been approved by SFA.
