  1. This year ?, no chance with the shit they have uncovered and trying to sort out I would say prudent wheeling and dealing but for the first time in about 3 seasons we haven't had to pay off a playing squad that wasn't fit for purpose. I would say maybe second possibly 3rd with the squad that Kelty has though as no way Tidser, Austin, Cardle, Low and Hggy are on peanuts
  2. Miller and McCracken were put in there to give an unpopular board breathing space they also had or the club were in a better financial position than we are just now which wasn't in McGlynns favour and bare in mind he had a black hole to plug with the cup run. yes McGlynn has experience but you need to remember we have spent the last 3 seasons in this league with less of a financial advantage than the team that's just been relegated so that's a plus for Dunfermline to me Miller was part of the problem that caused the downward spiral to where we are so no sympathy there from me. I
  3. I would say out the current league Montrose, Airdrie, Kelty and Alloa as well as Dunfermline are the main ones that have made us work for it this season looking at that year East Fife, Montrose, Airdrie, Cove and Partick so I would say pretty even although peterhead and Clyde as you say were better than what they were this season I wouldn't say there was much between the 2 leagues this season and back then
  4. I think they all are look at the Championship who would have though Accies would be one of the next teams to end up in League one, you have Queens park who are floating a bit of cash and a Dundee at the top Caley seem to have always been in the top half chomping at promotion. A lot of those teams that we are facing just now had that windfall of 500k from covid and that's the thing there's a lot of variables in amongst it. Also got to take into account the standard of refereeing as well which hasn't exactly helped us see Morrisons goal against Kelty that was disallowed as well as other poor decisions that cost us points.
  5. Cove had had a shed load of money thrown at them that's the thing with the teams coming up from the lowland leagues their owners are throwing money at them to get them into the SPFL you only need to look at how many former SPFL clubs have went down and not came back up Berwick, Cowdenbeath, Shire and Brechin.
  6. On that I agree with you, Airdrie I think has always been one of those frustrating sides but not sure if that was down to incompetence in the dugout and having a shit team on the park. Montrose were definitely stronger .
  7. Think most of us know that, but this season with teams like Dunfermline, Alloa and QotS all down from the championship it is a lot of a harder league than before with the likes of East Fife, Dumbarton out of it and I think it was Forfar of the top of my head then you have Hamilton who look like they will be heading down. You also had Cove and Kelty having money thrown at them by their owners. Lot of variables at play the past 2 seasons not to mention our old shit show of a board and what can only be the worst director of football in the history of football Gary Holt who somehow managed to get his boy on a 2 year deal.
  8. Shire released a statement on it in fact a few of the lower league teams are against it as rule was the b teams cant be promoted or relegated the idea that a team could finish 6th in a league with b teams and be relegated was a no no for them
  9. We finished 6th last season and 5th the season before, not to mention clubs that came down from the championship had that 500k given to them from Covid which we didn't get so financial advantage. It would have been good to win the league but again its football.
  10. As for the bottling it look how many games they have played in the past 3 weeks in order to avoid a fixture pile up before the play offs not to mention the cup games if anything the current players as well are in the same boat as what we were against Killie (not to mention the Killie game we got bodied by a more physical side that we just couldnt deal with) the same could be applied yesterday barring a VAR call and a couple of defensive mistakes. On any other day of the week and against any other team the shots would have went in. The end of the day any arguments are "if my auntie had balls" and "what ifs" but to suggest McGlynn has been no better than Rennie or M and M or Mackinnon or Hartley is just f**king ludicrous the comparison is night and day and none of the other names mentioned had even managed a cup run and if anything with the money generated with the cup run its wiped out that black hole they were asking for fans to help fill. He has stabilised things a lot more than he is given credit for. The hard part is yet to come with 4 play off games (hopefully)
  11. Look at the past few seasons any time we have had an important game the playoffs against Killie for promotion, and relegation games we have bottled it but has anyone called for Housties head then? Yesterday was an important game and we bottled it the end of the day it comes to players' nerves and them turning it on the day the manager picks the team he feels is best the rest is on their shoulders and up to them to do it on the park. Next you'll be calling for Deans and co to return to the club I don't know what the chip is on your shoulder these things happen but after 4 seasons of this shit and actually making the playoffs even with a poor run of results we comfortably finished second. Sacking a manager should be signing an entire squad without seeing them play, calling a draw at Dumbarton a good result those are sackable and unacceptable a play off spot and a cup semi final are not.
  12. Have you seen what's out there with the usual suspects on the managerial merry-go-round ffs we almost succumbed to wanting Yogi back? Whether you think McGlynns the man or not he has been the best appointment we have had since Housties departure and on its day with some of the football we have seen has been some of the best we have seen in as long. As for the one suggesting yes SA wants to return to the club appointing a rookie manager how long do you give him on a run of poor results with yet ANOTHER squad rebuild? Wanting a manager ejected when we are in the playoffs is NOT in the club's best interests. I can't even believe it's been a point of discussion in all honesty.
  13. Can the ones that are serious and going on about sacking McGlynn put the drink down and step away from the keyboard, ffs we have been in this league for 4 seasons and other than the covid season this is the closest that any appointment the club has made have got to us to getting out of this league. Rewind to when Holt and when M and M got sacked top bit of the league and we dropped off a cliff edge with that appointment and why in the name of f*ck would anyone sack them for no other reason if we had got to the final and been hammered by Celtic folk would still be calling for his head. The man damned if he does and dam,ned if he doesn't. Honestly don't know what our support expect, every club goes on a poor run of form (with exception of Dunfermline this season)but seriously do we just demand sackings after a poor result of what a couple of individuals deem unacceptable. See the next time any of you have a shit day at work or a poor day how would you feel if your boss said you didn't have a good day by the way your sacked, have a word with yourselves honest to f**k. To achieve what he has in one season is remarkable. Here endeth the rant
  14. I wouldnt say we were outclassed, the thing with them as much as Caley were pretty much unspectacular we matched them and as Shodwell says we just didn't put it in the back of the net, after last season if someone said to me we would be in the playoffs and had a Scottish cup semi final I would have asked them who their dealer is and to lay off the crack. Anyway gubbing for Airdrie today and a Win for Alloa going by final game to be played looks like it will be Airdrie unless Alloa take something from the fifers and Airdrie drop points at FC Edinburgh (which is possible)
  15. I thought 3 nil was a bit harsh tbh, I didn't see the handball for starts and I don't think anyone else did till the ref stopped play, as for the goals I didn't think Caley had many chances and what they did they scored, I think we were unlucky not to score but days like that happen. I can't fault players or McGlynn for today.
  16. Look at his interview from the start of the season even though he said it was terrible last year and his dad always reminded him your only as good as your last game. It was also had to do with who was around him, in fairness after last season I never wanted to see Brad McKay in a starting 11 (ate my words on that one) but even when McCann has been poor he is still a 7 out of 10 for performance.
  17. I can't comment on QotS and Dunfermline. Still, I think part of the issue is McCann and Kennedy had a great team up as well as Rowe and Morrison on the right. Still, I think the pairing in McCann and Kennedy has fallen away more on Kennedy's part, which I dare say he is trying to get himself in the shop window for the end of the season and finding a new club.
  18. if it was 2 x hat tricks he would prob be able to count them all on the one hand mind you it is fife so 4 is probably just the same ..
  19. Ach you need to calm down a bit with it, flapped it about too much to start off with that's how it comes off the stick.. lol,but you calmed down and pulled it back from the end once you go your mojo and in tune with the rest of the game ...
  20. Is anyone else in the thinking that Kinnear starts too slow in the game and grows into it had that thought on Monday and comparing with the Airdrie game, first wee bit he scared the sh*t out of me but then again it took us that long to get going, that being said he more than redeemed himself hopefully we offer him a chance to stay as well with him being released by West Ham at the end of the season.
  21. One coming up with Neil Scally I think its next week but don't quote me seen it advertised somewhere.
  22. Penalties being like buses now..lol (alright 2 then) , just watched it again great seeing the coverage in the media. welling up at seeing the scenes from last night hearing Amarillo getting belted out by every Bairn there, didn't want to leave the stadium last night absolutely buzzing. ideal scenario beat Caley, the blue arsecheek beats the green arsecheek and we manage to beat them (personally think we stand a better chance against the blue arsecheek than the green one.
  23. Aye but the thing about that was it was Gretna and we didn't have Brooks Mileson millions
  24. Last season i would have agreed with you but this season as much as I never thought I would say it the big lads been solid and has managed to cut out his bombscare moments
  25. After first goal I thought we were f**ked, but it took too long to get started, goal and penalty aside I didn't think Ayr really troubled us looking back on it oh and when can we get big Brad in the Legends for the stands absolutely solid at the back. Though Kinnear looked ropy first half fair play to the lad will eat my words as thought he should be dropped in favour of PJ, Kennedys goal was class, I was bricking it for Cal taking the penalty (cant believe I've seen us get 2 penalties now is this a new thing) scenes at the end I didn't want to leave the TFS. John McGynn and Paul Smith take a bow as what you have done is nothing short of a miracle. Best scenario win semi against Caley. by some reason Sevco beat the other arsecheek Falkirk v Sevco final
