First disappointing performance of the season for me. Lots of changes due to injuries/knocks I presume. First half well off the pace. Second half competed better. Deserved win for Tranent.
Edit to add. These injuries are killing us.

Yeah. Injuries hurting badly. 1st XI more than a match for anyone. Otherwise better than many but not the top teams.

Please don't spread these unfounded rumours Nelly, they can be very harmful. We both know there's only one club throwing money at it and it's no surprise to see that you're now massive favourites for the Lowland League title as a result. I just hope yous can see it through with a fanbase that are absolutely determined to cast doubt on the sea of talent Cowden have in their squad. Awful support if you ask me!

Oh, and as you can see we still deliver highlights when we get beat, unlike some unnamed Fife clubs I can think of ☺️

    Bell end.

The whole point of retaining 90% of last year's squad, was to ensure that the players knew what to expect from one another, play as a team, cover one another's weaknesses, anticipate the strengths and drop readily into a game plan where everyone knows their role

I'm not sure I really agree. Today was awful but I think the players have to take responsibility for their part in it else it doesn't matter who's in charge. There's fault on both parts and if the finger is pointed only at Malcolm, some of the players in that squad are getting away with murder.

That said, you could look at our squad going into this season and point out about 7-8 players who simply aren't good enough or shouldn't be there for one reason or another. Malcolm needs to shoulder the blame for that - it was his call to stick rather than twist and the loyalty he's shown to most hasn't been repaid.

Eeeww. Shades of Cowden in our last 2 seasons in SPL div 2. Kept re-signing a squad that most, essentially, were not good enough to play in and we reaped the consequences. Ye cannae make a silk purse out of a pigs ear as Alexander Barclay said in about 1510 AD.

Fair play, Cowden look like real title favourites and rightly so with the eyewatering money their players are on. I was speaking to a Cowden official pre-game just as the away team bus arrived about former Berwick man Ciaran Chalmers. I joked about the amount of money he was on and was told it was actually quadruple what he was getting while he was at Shielfield. No wonder he was motivated to bury us! 😄

    Poor try. Fail. Bell end.

I assume Calum will have to watch from the stand today.

On the early train down via Edinburgh. Hopefully no train issues 🙂, although the first train we were planning to get was cancelled and ScotRail are not even on strike!

Why ? Did he get sent off or summat ?

Deary me - someone is sensitive about the role they played in Cowdenbeath's literal worst season ever!

I actually have it on extremely good authority that Calum has put that entire squad together - I'm sure he'd be delighted to hear you're trying to take credit for it all though. Perhaps you should stick to hiding match balls and keep away from the 'scouting system' responsible for recruiting a team of absolute jobbers? Especially given your team has now had to throw hundreds of thousands at fixing the damage done.

Deary me you have an almighty fascination with Cowden. You remain a complete bell end.

    Think 312 the announcer said!

Don't know what the rules are but wish there was a live stream. Was sitting on the twitter feeds, with much frustration, down the pub but would gladly have paid a tenner and sat indoors dahnn south to see the game. Well down to the team. Shame we couldn't convert.

If mcnab, butterworth, hepburn, doc, josh jack, gregor jordan, walker and dougie all started then yes I would agree, but we field a weak side with jack duncan and jack tait starting centre half. Nothing to worry about😂😂

Hmmm. Better hope we don't get too many injuries to the regular backs during the season. We do look a bit light still on defenders.

Biggest surprise is Joe was 26 before he got an SFL side, time he did he had a good job so I doubt he would have been interested in being full time.

    Solicitor I think ?

I genuinely can't remember the last time I actually looked forward to a league game at Central Park.

Big Joe is a hero of mine but I hope his team gets pumped and he is raging.

Big Joe was my personal favourite. Interesting discussion point really. We have had some terrific CBs over the years - Chopper, Innes, a young McGregor, Mango etc. I remain surprised that Joe never got a gig in the premiership. He was quick and his left foot distribution was a joy.

  11. Lads will be gutted to let one in so late in the game. Magnificent cup campaign though. Congratulations to all. Really looking forward to the season with considerable optimism.

  12. Well done to the boys. A great effort and some great play. Story of the night though, the lads can't appear to hit the target when given many opportunities to do so.....
