Bit like the main Darvel thread which was started by a Talbot fan for some reason , hardly anyone who supports Darvel or has anything to do with the club ever comments on it and it’s still one of the busiest threads on here

Will Kilwinning have a development team next season ?

I did the new Darvel juniors tour today and seen his childhood home which is surely in the Calton ?

DL, Is there a genuine reason why the Darvel fans are turning their backs on the team especially as they are serious contenders to win the league. They had a lot of young boys 14-17 year olds who went pre COVID , a lot of them came from many different parts of Ayrshire . Roll on 2 years and their out the habit of going and now needing to pay £6 too get in which could be spent on other things .

Am going to a game at your stadium today , is there plenty of parking ?

Some who are still aged will drop,down too the under 19 league , Kilwinning had 4 trialists yesterday who originally played for the development team , whether this is because they are going to be signing or because the were playing Talbot under 18s remains to be seen tbh

Very harsh on pollock tbh , if it wasn’t for red boots nothing much would have happened

Probably just not enough players for teams to have full squads , the under 19 league in Ayrshire only has 14 teams and that includes several under 18 teams , out of those Talbot have 2 teams and valspar 2

Aye , my son plays for Talbot , just found it strange Ayr played in Cumnock

I see the under 18s play Ayr united in the scotttish cup on Friday night , at Cumnocks ground for some reason

What happens too the under 20 s team when Talbot win the league , as in what league would they play in ?

My point was they were starting a fight whatever the score , they would have found an excuse whether Darvel had won or not .

My son plays for an under 17 team based not far from new Cumnock , a boy from new Cumnock he knows came and told him in the first half to watch his back as the locals were going to start a fight with them . The score in the game was immaterial.

Am not an expert on this level of football by any margin but what I thought was particularly wrong was the fact no glenafton committee members or older supporters tried to stop their fans fighting in fact the abuse the older men were belting out was off the scale , after the game 2 men with glenafton ties attempted to stop my son leaving the ground when he was behind me claiming it was for his own safety I told him we would take our chances sticking together , why not stop me but stop him ?

I don’t think that’s actually true , there was a section of their support all with matching football tops on who seemed to be there just to cause trouble

Darvel fans at away games are generally under 18 years old or over 45 with a lot of women and children flung in , the home support attacked the younger ones who defended themselves actually very well which didn’t please the much older aggressors, one Darvel committee man was beaten by about 3 or 4 men ( not boys ) . A man in his thirties went too punch my son but stopped himself when he seen how young he was . Very aggressive home support who when it came down to folk standing up too them weren’t actually that good at it . Bigger away supports from Glasgow etc with more men between 20-40 I doubt they would have not have been attacked . Away teams will stop bringing fans there or possibly more men in groups will go there to leather them . Both scenarios not good for glenafton or their decent fans . The main instigators who can be seen in the sun video whilst not coming near enough to fight anyone caused others to attack the young Darvel fans . Absolutely no one from darvel instigated any fights but defended themselves which they needed to do . A scarey situation for the many younger lads and children and women to find themselves in the middle of .

Ha , you could be right , turns out my oldest has one of them on snap chat and the guy posted pictures of his burst face wae pride , aye well done mate you got your face burst from a 15 year old

Tbf to glenafton the instigators all seemed to be men in their thirties who all were wearing brand new identical strips of a Glasgow team . I doubt their regular glenafton supporters .

Not sticking up for Glenafton but I'm led to believe it was Darvel fans that were at fault. Complete opposite , Darvel scored and loads of them starting attacking young lads of 16-17 from Darvel .
