This sounds like an exploitable loophole. When you need to hook another one of your own players, send your assistant manager out with a lead piping to cosh a member of the opposition. Costs your non-playing staff a red card for violent conduct, but you gain an extra sub, and take out their best player.

That would be me. He accidentally opened himself up to a mate-bishop fork so I got a bishop, gave the piece back shortly afterwards (the alternative was retreating my queen and losing the initiative) and then just kept up the pressure to the end. redvtop's first league defeat is now on my CV.

Regardless of the sectarianness or otherwise of the song, you do have to boggle at the self-victimization on display. Is there even *one* instance of anyone from Northern Ireland being subjected to capital punishment for 'fighting the IRA' since the IRA was founded? Surely, given the history of Ireland, they're not at a loss for instances of very real crimes committed against Northern Irish protestants or loyalists, rather than concocting entirely fictional grievances against a country they claim to be loyal to.

I do know that British eggs can easily be stored outwith the fridge, unlike their American counterparts, but it does no harm to have them there, and it just happens to be a better use of space in my particular situation. That's my excuse.

Le Fondre is at the arse-end of his career, so it'll necessarily be rather short-term but otherwise, yes. Every time I see him, he's the cleverest player on the pitch. I suspect we'll have trouble affording Emiliano or Maolida, but it would be great to keep them.

Done. I had already generated the fixtures, though, and you're lucky there was an odd number of players (otherwise it would have been a much fiddlier job to insert a new player). This does mean that both me and @Caro-Kann have to play catchup with a game each for the first week.
Please don't make a habit of this sort of thing. Accommodating latecomers can make administration trickier!

I think this is the latest post where the rules were explained, but I could be wrong. Not sure if it's fully up to date, but the basic gist is that every few months, people sign up to play two (or occasionally just one) 'daily games' on chess.com per week in a double round robin league with two divisions (using the football scoring systems of 3 points for a win and 1 for a draw and promotion/relegation, and people play each other once as white, once as black). Daily games are where you play a minimum of one move per day. All PnBers are welcome. @ancientnoise deals with the cup these days, which is a parallel FA-Cup style knockout tournament.
We're about halfway through the season right now, but if this is the sort of thing you're interested in, I can pencil you in for next season right now. At the end of this season, I'll do a callup for next season, and again, you'd be more than welcome to join in.
