  1. Or if you want to put a more positive spin on it …… he’s only lost six out of twelve !
  2. You’ll struggle to convince me that most of these players ( especially the profile ex seniors) are there for anything other than financial reward. Before the cheque book came out, half of them probably couldn’t even have pointed to Darvel on a map ! The notion that these boys are at Darvel to be ‘coached’ by MK is laughable. In the unlikely event that MK left ( and to be honest….. it’s nonsense to be talking about that at this stage of a season) …. these players will sit tight ….. honour their contracts ….. and earn money they won’t get anywhere else !
  3. I had it the other way round. Saw the games at Clydebank and Pollok and rather than ‘take too long to get started’…. I thought they actually started both games really well. Plenty of possession …. plenty of pressure…. plenty of chances ….. but poor end product. Could / should have been out of sight at Clydebank but couldn’t cope when Bankies got at them in the last 10-15 mins. Same at Pollok ….. early chances missed and spent last 20-30 minutes pumping aimless long balls back to front.
  4. Therein may lie the problem. A squad who between them, have played hundreds of games at a much higher level. In footballing terms ….. the ‘gaffer’ is arguably the least experienced man in the dressing room ! Credibility issue ??
  5. Wasn’t at last night’s game but took in the previous fixture at Pollok. I made the comment that a fair few of the starting 11 that day didn’t do enough to merit a starting jersey in the next game …. and I would certainly have included Millar in that list. Out of curiosity ….. how many changes were there from the team that started against Pollok ???
  6. Repeat of Clydebank game ….. squander early chances ….. get punished !
  7. TBH ….. there were times today when your team was ‘pish’. Mistakes….. occasionally or in isolation, do happen however, their frequency and manner today…. especially at the back …. reached the threshold for being ‘pish’. That…. and the absence of any distinguishable game plan ( other than big punt back to front ) for the last 20-25 mins ….. was equally ‘pish’. The ‘new squad’ that you mention has, between them….. HUNDREDS of games at senior level. That of course guarantees you nothing however, that level of experience should at least help you see you through the difficult times every team has in a game…. and really should be better than 4 points from a possible 15. Sorry if I’m being unrealistic !
  8. Fair assessment. Thought your whole back line today were pretty shambolic at times. Too many touches…. at the wrong times…. in the wrong places. Pollok’s front line worked hard but I’d say most of your mistakes were self inflicted through being too casual / complacent. Your number 8 looked lively in the first half especially but, when desperation kicked in and you started going long in the second half …. it took the boy right out the game, arguably at the time you needed him most. Big squad ‘doon the Brae’…. time for some rotation ? At least half your team today didn’t do enough to earn a jersey next week.
  9. On paper, I’d like to think there’s enough quality in that line up to see us over the line in Armenia. But…… I’m probably more concerned that pretty much the same group is going to have to be refreshed / recharged in time for Sunday.
  10. In your opening post you say that you stopped watching Arthurlie ?
  11. There’s probably nobody more cynical than me when it comes to the motivation of the current playing squad however, to be fair, the money spent on the ground and it’s facilities is to be applauded.
