  1. Article on BBC news regarding a new report which has called for artificial 3G sports pitches to be banned in Scotland due to potentially cancerous chemicals contained within them. The study by Stirling University stated that crumb rubber infill on pitches across the country should be replaced with alternative material.... BBC article
  2. I wonder if it's part of reducing links with/ reliance on/ influence of a certain person?
  3. There's been a wee editing mistake in the latest former players association "Walking Down the Halbeath Road" podcast as Mo says the manufacturer is Italian and a lot of the kit is made in Romania... narrows it down somewhat! Also mentioned a lot of the players kit has already arrived and that the colour of the training gear might not be to all the players liking.
  4. Never mind, BBC have you ahead on corners...
  5. Other option is not actually buying the service pack for the car... We picked up a used 3 series a few years ago. Was promised it would be serviced before collection, definitely was but you need to change the o-ring when you do the oil filter (comes in the service pack for a reason...) Guy ended up spending more money sorting out the resultant leak than it would have cost to just but the service pack in the first place.
  6. Surely Murdoch is ref ... If our friends from over the water are to be believed
  7. Probably send you the least sensible route they can think of. Last game I attended at TFS (pre-season friendly iirc) I wasn't allowed to walk round from the away stand despite living in Laurieston... and deliberately not wearing colours. Had to negotiate the traffic at the roundabout then walk up through the bog
  8. Thanks everyone, the day was filled with a couple of hours in the museum & art gallery, hot chocolates for the kids, visit to Primark and a wander along the Ness over both "bouncy bridges". Bank of dad didn't suffer too much on this occasion, both went pretty much right to bed when we got home and didn't surface until late morning today so definitely a success
  9. With the kids being off school tomorrow I gave them the choice of a day away in the train. They decided on Inverness so tickets have been bought. It's years since I've been to Inverness so what are the must see things to do with a 10 and 13 year old? We've got between 5 and 6.5 hours from noon.
  10. Thoughts are with you and your family @DA Baracus. As others have said there is no right or wrong way to grieve/ behave but, please take the time to do whatever you need to. I know from close personal experience that if you just soldier on it will catch up with you eventually.
  11. Standing in the door putting shoes on to go out and looks at her watch. "Oh I'm going to be late" Then proceeds to stand looking at her phone for a further five minutes.
  12. Yeah, right after that might hold but if you are at the point in finance where you owe more than the car is worth you are up a creek without a paddle... It's also in the interest of the GAP company to get the best payout from your insurer. No skin in the game but it's well worth it. Like all insurances you pay for something you don't want to need.
  13. GAP is to cover the difference between 'market value' which the insurer will pay out and what you owe on the car so you don't end up still paying for something you don't have anymore. You want RTI - return to invoice which will pay the difference between the insurers 'market value' and what you paid so should make sure any finance is clear and you have a deposit to go car hunting with. Look for a policy away from the dealership if you can...
  14. This happens for a couple of games every few years, then normal service resumes. Almost like some new senior cop thinks it's a great idea... til they get complaints from fans/ the club or something happens and the closure is reinstated. Rinse and repeat.
  15. I'd quite like to see them get an eco-friendly sentence; put them in stocks and let the public throw soup at them... whilst still in the tin. The soup could then be donated to a foodbank.
  16. What about some of the sixties European glory nights? Does limit your ability to talk about your own experiences of the games though. 1988 v Rangers? https://youtu.be/IhW0pLDWnvk
  17. Not my wife but my teenage daughter; constantly complains she is cold: insisted on wearing a huge hoodie during the recent heatwave just looking at her. Pity whichever poor unsuspecting person she ends up with later in life.
  18. Just please don't buy your tickets from Trainline; the Ticketmaster of rail travel. Also been known to sell tickets for services that don't exist due to engineering works etc... You can almost always get the cheapest tickets from the website of the company you are going to travel with.
  19. Is it available on Google podcasts? Like a good podcast for the train to work...
  20. Don't think it will protect him from the burn he's getting from what I assume is his wife at the end...
  21. As we're not directly involved we might but those who are involved will be making sure they don't say the wrong thing... Also includes the company which I'm sure you'll have noticed as they don't want to antagonise things. The current timetable is simply because Scotrail didn't know from one day to the next who would/ would not work overtime and which services would be affected.
