said it a million times, clarke has to be braver in terms of his approach against teams we are better than. all for trying to be compact against decent sides but this not pressing the ball against Ireland and the likes will cost him his job. the irritating thing is , i've seen us play well, serbia away we were positive and they better than us man for man , then we have this bizarre approach where it looks like we are waiting to be gifted a goal before we actually start. ireland lost the ball 2/3 times at the back passing it around for the life of me i'll never know why we didnt at least push higher up the pitch and apply a bit more pressure.

said this ages ago, its the darren fletcher, scott brown treatement, become captain and they take all the flak.

100% agree , people just want to blame robertson for things that arent all his own doing, he can do better i agree with that, but he's stuck out wide in a team that doesnt create much space or pulls players out of position like liverpool do, everything scotland do is slow and predictable, lack of movement, there is no space for him to effect the game.

I think thats the system though, we've got to get him into those areas high up the pitch, we just do not move the ball well enough or quick enough to penetrate defences.

i've got no problem sticking with the 3 , but we just arent comfortable when Tierney doesnt play and thats quite a bit. hanley/hendry/cooper just aren't good enough on the ball and the drop off is huge.

robertson does need to do better 100% agree. but lets not start pretending hickey is aywhere near his level, if we actually played with some attacking intent we might see the best of robertson but we dont , and the answer to us dropping him for a right footed LB just makes us even more slow and predictable in possession.

i'd take him in a second but the SFA will pick a scottish guy with an unremarkable managerial career and is jutst a bit too afraid to be positive from the outset

the thing is we could easily go to a back 4 with robbo and KT, I think they've struck up a good understanding with each other ( i know its popular we have to pivk one and forget the other). KT could play the left CB of a 4 better than all the "natural" CB's we have.

I have no qualms with clarkes approach against bigger sides, but setting up like we are playing spain when in fact we are playing a pretty abysmal irish side is what will cost him his job. we are sitting off guys like duffy and allowing him to ping 40 yard passes. i dont expect too much from scotland but approaching games far more positively and braver would be nice.

i've turned this off, not even ashamed to say it , i've sat through the faroes , moldova, georgia and never switched off but cannot hack this shit.
