  1. Will be interesting to see how he gets on next season. Presumably the goals will be flying in
  2. They were all going anyway as were out of contract. We've done literally nothing.
  3. Plenty of other clubs in the country making signings and announcing pre season friendlies. This summer can't be a replica of last summer when the club went to sleep for weeks before making a series new sponsor announcements, before finally making a singing in July. We can't just write off June as 'holiday'. We probably have to ship a few out the door first (will be expensive) but it needs to happen soon.
  4. Aside from whether Goodwin is a good appointment or not, I'm pleasantly surprised we've acted so soon. Last summer, after the Ross County game the club went into hibernation for weeks, so I'm hoping this indicates a more pro-active approach during the summer. Season 2023/24 really does begin tomorrow and announcements on who's staying and who's leaving should be in the next few days
  5. He would never have signed a one year contract. I tend to think his salary will reflect that, plus have clauses in should we (inevitably?) sack him.
  6. History would suggest this is not a bad thing. Fed up seeing Utd fans out in big numbers and being let down (arguably on this occasion we may be out in smaller numbers and get let down)
  7. Thought he was fucking chronic today. Continually cuts back away from goal rather than try to get past the defender.
  8. Can confirm no sign of Fletcher on the team bus. Levitt there though
  9. Just in terms of sheer numbers, we'll obviously miss Fletcher. And he's a handy asset to have on the pitch. But, without having done any research, I don't think we've missed him when he's been injured before? Granted we had Watt to fill in and that's not the case just now. But Fletcher is hardly 'free scoring ' considering he's a striker. His presence means we have one tactic all game (high ball from keeper for him to win the header and knock it on to the other non-existant striker) and it's a tactic that has patently not worked all season. Apologies for being an optimist, but I'm hoping this might just work out for us. Presumably Middleton and McLeod will form a front two?
  10. Fletcher out for the remaining games according to twitter, according to that weapon of a boy on Tekel Towers (he's very angry about it. but scratch beneath the surface and you'll see a big smug 'Told you so. I win the internet' smile. (In fairness JG did mention about getting a striker in a few weeks ago and then nothing happened. But I guess that probably cause any decent striker is already playing with a club?) Not read this anywhere else so not sure if bollocks or not. We'll sure miss our free scoring striker...... (I actually have came round to him a bit post WC
  11. It was obvious in August, with the transfer window still open, the keeper wasn't up to it. A sin that guy has lasted the whole season. Hopefully today was his second last appearance at Tannadice
  12. We've turfed two managers out and chased the sporting director out the door too, and all to no avail. Turns out all along that its the players that are the problem. Who'd have thought? I can't fathom out what's happened to Edwards - I had him down as one of the best centre halfs in the league last season. So, so poor now, but I can't understand why. The three subs today made us worse. We don't have any player who seems capable of beating a full back. The desire to meet the opponent's full back and then cut back the way seems endemic within the squad
  13. Livingston away tickets on sale. As far as I can tell the only part of the ground that has them for sale though is two wee sections of the 'Nordan East Stand', but there's nothing to say of that's home or away? Anyone know?
  14. Would Ukraine do this entirely off its' own back? Surely USA / the West would say don't be so stupid? Or does the USA/ the West have intelligence that would suggest Putin is on the brink of something crazy himself and the only solution would be to wipe him out? Or a false flag thingy? I readily concede, I don't know a great deal on all this
  15. I've missed the last two games. Bad news - I plan on going to the remaining six.
  16. Thinking of going to the midweek game v Brora. What's the entry prices at Glebe park?
  17. The result at Rugby Park yesterday has killed us off, and I've now accepted that that's us down. There's zero prospect of us getting a result like that - in fact I'm now beginning to think it's be a surprise if we win a game again this season. There's a multitude of reasons for why we are where we are, but the principal one is the players are pish.
  18. As the originator of the topic, I seem to recall a rather terse "we were told about this months ago" reply. However, it would seem, in the case of the Premiership, its as clear as mud, and may remain so until the post split fixtures are announced (probably less than a fortnight beforehand). Surely they can announce some kind of plan (e.g. all fixtures on Friday night / all fixtures on Sunday etc etc). (for the avoidance of doubt I couldn't care less about the whole thing but I would like to know if my team are likely to play on a Friday, a Saturday or a Sunday)
