  1. United were miles the better team, from the first minute to the last. Thought we were excellent in the first half (and second half) and yet if it wasn't for the goal in the 44th minute, pretty confident the Utd fans (certainly those around me) would have boo'd us off at half time. Second half was more of the same, just got the goals our dominance deserved
  2. Brilliant performance and victory for Utd. Unquestionably because Raith didn't have the first six rows of The Shed. Would have been a different story otherwise
  3. I'm not following this. Are Rovers fans in the shed? But with a reduced capacity?
  4. Agreed on all of that. Second half subs did weaken us, but was sensible decisions from Goodwin. Of the two you mention Tillson, who certainly isn't a world beater, was a lot better than his compatriot.
  5. Possibly been covered already in the thread ..... I had a quick look and reckon at this stage no tickets have been made available for the top tier of the South stand for any of these five games?? Am I right in thinking that? Bit strapped for cash just now so not looking buy tickets right now, but hoping they'll release South stand top tickets nearer the time (as they did for Norway game).
  6. Also, and whilst I'm far from sold on Goodwin, does last night put paid to the "Can't win the big games" stuff that gets trotted out in certain quarters?
  7. Fortheringham and Newman in Scotland u21 squad, so (will probably) miss the ICT game on 23rd. Could a badly timed Walton injury lead to a re-appearance of 'you-know-who'? Kai would be a miss too, although not been firing on all cylinders lately. (Side note, could we ask for a postponement at all?)
  8. Is the bar underneath the main (well old) stand still on the go? And if so open to away fans? And what time does it open? Thanks
  9. Gave that a green one. Then realised we're probably rushing him back and he'll pull up injured around the twenty minute mark
  10. Can't disagree with any of that. Was really disappointed in Meekison and Mochrie. Meekison looked a real prospect under Courts, but that was a couple of years ago now and he's done very little since (granted had injuries) and (correct me if I'm wrong) is still to register a goal. Maybe it's the level of coaching he's had right enough.
  11. Anyone know / care to guess if our match v Raith at Tannadice will be moved to the Friday night? I know there's limitations on how many matches the BBC can show and each team has to be shown at home a certain amount of times. Also Scotland are playing on the Friday night I believe. But obviously it's an attractive fixture so you'd think there would be a fair chance of it getting moved. (My Easter holiday plans hinge on when the game is, hence the query)
  12. I know Grimshaw had been playing (badly) at RB but he's considered primarily a midfield I believe. Doesn't this leave us without a right back in the first team squad? Wish Freeman well - a move will probably do him good. Personally I think there's little to pick between him and Grimshaw
  13. Might pop in anyway. They may, or may very well not, have some in the shop they don't sell online
  14. Is there a club shop at the ground. Wee man looking to add a pin badge to his collection
  15. There seems to be a bit of disparity between our home form and our away from, and whilst it's not the complete answer I can't help but think that we the fans are part of the issue. Tannadice is either like a fucking morgue, or seething cesspit of ire towards our own players. It must get through to the players and have some kind of impact. I overheard someone, after a series of simple sideway passes at the back, say "it's like they're scared to make a mistake" - They most probably are. It was interesting to hear the Falkirk fan on the radio yesterday crediting their 'Ultras' with a hand in their successful season. If Tannadice was a somewhat happier place to play your football, I still think Liam Grimshaw would pass the ball back the way, but it would surely have some kind of positive impact. Not sure if the Dom Thomas story has any truth in it, but if it were to, why on earth (wages aside) would he want to come here.
  16. You're making the mistake of thinking because of the salaries they're on Moult and Watt are good players. Neither of those are capable of scoring those three goals that Oakley did
  17. Whats happening with our postponed match v Morton? Just about every game that was postponed on 2nd Dec has a date re-arranged now. (Waiting to see if Morton exit the cup and play it on Saturday 10th February maybe?)
  18. Agreed on both fronts. Middleton being employed at LB was an interesting one. Was Duffy not on the bench today (possibly making room for MacLeod) **Just seen Duffy was on the bench, so Middleton at LB all the more peculiar**
  19. Goodwin said Docherty was unable to play v Partick, but might be ok for Arbroath - anyone got any info?
  20. Dropping Moult and playing Watt as the main striker (with Mochrie in behind) must be a strong shout for the Arbroath game. My opinion on Watt is probably not too far removed from a lot of United fans, but in fairness Watt's goal return, when played as the main striker, is very decent. He looked chuffed to bits clutching the match ball at the end
  21. I was told quite recently that Morgan is living quite the lifestyle over there. Can't imagine he'd be giving that up any time soon
