  1. No idea, but I just downloaded the masters app again ( definitely the best app on my phone), so looking forward to finding out!
  2. As I expected. A dinosaur who was found out for not being good enough.
  3. A bit off topic , but £125.00 for a football shirt! Madness!
  4. “Let’s get Britains future back” might be the most clumsy soundbite I have ever read.
  5. The reentry footage was amazing. In couldn’t believe how long it was able to broadcast for under those conditions. 1 step closer !
  6. Interesting stuff. when was the shelf removed and how kind was it open for. Seems a lot of work to put in only to remove it again.
  7. Just caught up on this story. Wow, that is so bad! It makes Storybook Glen in Aberdeen look like Universal Studios!
  8. It’s not for football fans who watch games. it’s for people who follow football via social media clips.
  9. Any idea when the host city for Croatia away is likely to be announced? I will be in Cyprus around that time and thinking of flying over for it.
  10. It also reeks of entitlement and privilege that he believes he would go straight in at lance corporal and not have to start as a private. And the worst thing is, he would probably be right.
  11. Fight for a class of people , whose leader said, when faced with a genuine threat to the country (not this made up shite), “let the bodies pile high” . I’ll pass.
  12. No burns night for me but my wife was asked to do a “burns breakfast” assembly at her international school here in Tokyo which I was asked to come along to help out with. The teaching assistant is a Scot and a dab hand on the pipes which he has with him. He piped in the head teacher and senior staff. The kids sang auld lang syne ( which weirdly is played at closing time in Japanese supermarkets) followed by a wee introduction to burns and why he is celebrated. Bagpiping teacher then gave an excellent immortal memory, another read “John Anderson my Jo”, then a wee Japanese girl sang the most beautiful version of “my love is like a red red rose” I have ever heard. Then we had a mini ceilidh, managing to fit in a military two step, a gay Gordon’s and a massive orcadian strip the willow. ( all were carnage with 120 kids and only 3 Scots , but everyone had a great laugh) At the end the kids were piped out and given a snack of walkers shortbread. All in all a good little event.
  13. Yes that is what I mean, if he kept plugging away and not retired when he did, I am sure he would still be able to compete.
  14. Yes it looked like the generation of young chinese players such as yan bingtao etc we’re going to be the ones to upset the old order before they all got themselves banned. I wonder if ,seeing the likes of Williams, Higgins and o’ Sullivan still competing at the highest level, if Stephen Hendry reckons he retired too early? They all went through slumps in form before coming back strong.
  15. People not paying attention and walking into things. More common these days with people glued to their phones.
  16. Dreadful idea. As mentioned above, there are already rules to deal with dissent etc. needs better quality of refereeing across the board. That it “works in other sports is irrelevant”. Different sports have different rules, that is why they are different sports. Why is it any attempts by those in charge to improve football always make it far worse. Just leave the game alone FFS.
  17. The national stadium isn’t new, it has been in this configuration since it its redevelopment in 1999. The fact there is no set procedure in place for the allocation of ticket and this debate happens before every semi and final is a disgrace. They just make it up as they go along, each and every time , giving Celtic and Rangers as much advantage as they can get away with.
  18. I did a thing yesterday! I have recently moved to Japan, and have been to the driving range and a short par 3 course a few times but yesterday was my first time on a full 18. As a single , was put into a foursome with 3 old Japanese guys. Played 18 holes , was a bit rusty and went out in 47 , but back in 41 for a 88. Very happy. At this course you get a day ticket , so because it was still relatively early, they asked me to play another 9. I was happy with 18 but because we were having fun, I took them up on their offer. I’m so glad I did! After a chip in birdie on 1, I hit a level par (35) for 9!!!!! My best ever 9 is 38, My driving was terrible, topping it 80-90 yards, but recovered well with hybrid and chipped / pitched like an absolute demon. I was -1 through 7 holes before chunking one into a bunker that cost me a bogey. Parred the 9th to card a level par 35. My lifetime goal is to shoot level par or better for 18, I am half way there! I definitely feel I can break 80 on this course at some point (par 68) . My best ever is 81. Still buzzing this morning, what a day!!!
  19. I think this is exciting news. The thought of him, Vingegaaard and Pocagar all fighting for the GC in next years tour has me looking forward to it already. Could be one one of the best ever.
  20. Those first three matches are going to be epic. I can’t wait to watch those on their own merit, regardless of importance to the overall Ryder cup.
  21. If Europe can keep red off the board again in the morning Foresomes we could well see a team USA meltdown similar to France at every other World Cup.
  22. Yes it is great! Everything is so clean and convenient! Before the game we went to a “hub” pub which is a British theme bar. I thought it would be tacky and a Disney land version of a pub but was very much like a pub at home! On the way home found a very cute iziyaka bar,l to have a few drinks, only just big enough for the 10 of us and that was it. I might get the fixtures for next season and use it as an excuse to see some other places. I want to watch a game in Yokohama where the 2002 World Cup final was and a few other random places.
  23. I have recently moved to Japan, and took in a game at my local J league team on Saturday Kashiwa Reysol v Avispa Fukuoka. Kashiwa 3rd bottom of the J league with Fukuoka sitting 8th First off , got tickets out of a machine at the local convenience store. Could buy tickets for the whole league, concerts museums, theme parks etc. so convenient! A cool little stadium , about 15,000 capacity. Had to walk through a forest to get to it which was unusual. had a half time beer and box of noodles, the toilets were probably the nicest I have been at a football ground. A noisy ultras section who sang all game at one end, and a safe standing away section behind the other goal. A tidy little ground Non stop singing and bouncing from both ends but no hint of aggro, a good family atmosphere, lots of families with kids etc, reasonably priced and a good fun evening. Level wasn’t too great but pretty direct and plenty of chances for each team. Kashiwa started well and played with a lot of aggression which saw them to a deserved 1-0 half time lead. Fukuoka showed good patience and quality in the 2nd half, hitting 3 times on the break with some lovely football and good finishing to send the visiting fans back on their 700 mile trip home delighted . I will definite go back, a very pleasant way to spend an evening.
