  7. Vale v Berwick Rangers attendance 151
  8. This is definitely not a club post, whether it be fake or a fan post. Today’s game was played in a sporting fashion both on and off the pitch and the general opinion of most who attend was similar. To suggest that there is a bigotry faction within the club is total fantasy as the committee is made up of people with leanings towards Rangers, Celtic, Hearts and Hibs. The management and committee work hard for a small club like the Vale to survive and can do without this nonsense being spread about.
  9. The Vale missing gates are as follows: Civil Service Strollers 98 Gals Fairydean 140 East Kilbride 85
  10. Are all away teams who play at Forthbank allocated the open concourse, without heaters, to change pre/post games and at half time? I can understand not being allowed showers, but surely Active Stirling rules regarding covid are a lot stricter than other regions if this is the case. interesting to hear what teams who visited thought of it.
  11. Post from the Vale Facebook page, good crowd expected Information……Saturday coming (6th), The BBC will be attending Victoria park to film our match vs East Stirlingshire, kick off 3pm. Chris Marshall and his team from the football programme “A View from the Terrace” are going to be recording and then screening on there weekly show a lengthy piece about the Vale-Match highlights, background staff and fans interviews will all be included on the show. The club are going through change on the park (credit to Grant and his team) and with so much positivity from the last 2 weeks games alone ,are looking to continue going in the right direction and would therefore appreciate any support that any of this group can offer-particularly on match days. Changes are occurring off the park as well, including fresh faces joining the committee and maintenance improvements around Victoria park which will hopefully support the community and club going forward. On behalf of the club may I thank everyone who has been supporting and supportive, especially over the last fortnight and we look forward to seeing you perhaps on Saturday or in future match days. Finally, if anyone would like to be considered for an interview at Saturdays match then please call/message myself and I’ll acknowledge, then can give you a heads up on what sort of questions you may be asked from the BBC team….
  12. Grant Sandison appointed as new head coach……. Vale of Leithen FC are delighted to announce that they have appointed Grant Sandison to the position of head coach. Grant joins the club from Penicuik Athletic where he was first team interim manager at the beginning of season 21/22 before taking over as the head coach at the clubs under 20s. A young, enthusiastic and positive coach with exciting and attacking football as his philosophy combined with experiences gained throughout his playing career at Hamilton, Raith Rovers, Alloa and Berwick Rangers-Grant has said, “he does not under estimate the challenges that lie ahead of him however is very excited in getting started and tackling these as well as getting the Vale back to the level the club should be at”. Working alongside Grant, will be his assistant from Penicuik-Ryan Brady. Ryan has gained his experiences and knowledge in the game from a playing career at Hearts, Falkirk, Berwick Rangers and Arthurlie as well as being head coach at Edinburgh Uni 20s and assistant to Grant at Penicuik. Ryan has been eager to take on a new challenge in recent months and an opportunity like this was perfect for him. He is looking forward to driving the team forward in a more positive direction and developing current squad members and also the fresh faces coming in as well as making football at Victoria Park more enjoyable for the players, supporters and all connected of this great club. Both Grant and Ryan will be supported by current vale coaches Aki Munro and Ryan Bisset in what looks like exciting times ahead for the club with positive change. Keep faith
  13. VACANCY Vale of Leithen require a First Team Coach. The club are looking for a coach with the relevant coaching badges to be involved in the requisition of new players and the management of the team. Please contact Michael Hogarth at michael1746@hotmail.com if you would like to get involved
  14. To clarify the situation with the Vale, there is no chance of them folding. Club is in a fairly healthy situation with the new lights and the pitch treated to try and eliminate the drainage problems. Plus, good local sponsors. Everyone knows that the last few seasons have been hard and mistakes have been made, both on and off the park, but the committee and manager have been working hard recently behind the scenes to try and resolve the situation. The first stage in the recovery will be advertising the position of a first team coach to take charge of the team, any person with the relevant coaching badges can apply by contacting the Chairman, Stuart Robertson. The aim of the club is to start competing again in the LL for the rest of the season and hopefully getting a bit of respect back. Hopefully this explains where the club are at present, and also reassures PB members who have a soft spot for the Vale that we will still be about in future.
  15. Well done to BSC, they might be a new club but have always been a decent side to watch in the last few seasons. They always have experienced pros and utilise them well. I’m sure that when they find a place and relocate back to the Glasgow area their fan base will improve. As for the continued snipping about them not having their own stadium, almost all the teams in the Lowland League rent/lease their stadiums. All the best for the next round, you deserve it.
  16. Vale of Leithen does not transfer through from the LL site. The table is updated manually after every LL game that is played. The site has different categories which can be built, one being a league which is created at the start of the season in preparation of the league game commencing. Hope that helps
  17. (Bonnyrigg Rose) Nice set up and a good attendance, will be a good addition to the LL.
  18. Vale announce another five new signings: Andy McQueen Gary Nicholson Ryan Higgins Michael Robertson Jordan Easton
  19. Pre-season Friendly 17 July (tonight) Vale of Leithen v Hawick Royal Albert Victoria Park KO 7.30 Innerleithen
