  1. Overperformed????? Holy f**k, we appointed this guy as manager of Scotland??? 4-6-0 in Prague now explained. He did it to ensure that we did not overperform.
  2. Any contact is minimal and happens after Silva is already going to ground. Certainly not enough to warrant a foul. Also worth highlighting that Johnston clearly withdraws his foot in an attempt to avoid contact (he still does make contact despite that though).
  3. Silva was never ever getting to that ball. Why? Because he wasn't interested in getting to it. He was interested in simulating contact. You know that and I know that. So let's call it for what it was. Pure deception on Silva's part. If Beaton hadn't been so quick with the card for diving, and given a goal-kick, this discussion would not be happening and the incident would have been forgotten about. Beaton was the ref at Firhill last weekend @ Jags v Fake Jags, which I attended. He booked ICT's Kerr for a perceived dive which was rescinded on appeal following a later second yellow that saw him red-carded. I'll let you draw your own conclusion.
  4. Jeezus. What a pathetic take. Have you ever actually played any football? Even 5-a-sides?
  5. Rui Manuel Costa, one of the finest midfield players ever to grace a football field. Absolutely schooled Beckham and his pals from 0-2 down at Euro 2000. No dives ever necessary in his toolkit.
  6. Holy Moly. That nis a shocker and then some. What the f**k was going Patterson's mind to even consider attempting that pass??
  7. A small crumb of positivity from tonight that hasn't been highlighted is that Liam Cooper looks a far steadier and assured option for the Euro 24 squad than John Souttar did last Friday. Nathan Patterson sadly will need the Webb telescope to locate Everton's first team this season never mind the Euro 24 squad on the basis of that showing tonight.
  8. Leichtenstein we played in 2010-11, famously winning 2-1 at Hampden with a goal in the 147th minute of added time by Stephen McManus, and 1-0 away through the wonderfully named Craig Mackail-Smith. It was during Craig Levein's tenure, so anyone would be forgiven for having erased those games from their cognitive hard-drive.
  9. Pedant alert - Thistle didn't lose all their top 6 games allyo. They drew 2-2 at Tynecastle in the first game after the split. The relegation the next season was without question a minter, though.
  10. We didn't lose to either of the countries you have mentioned. Tonight's result certainly does rank with Kazakhstan away though.
  11. The only way Patterson sees Serie A is when he reads about it in the paper. There's a reason he never displaced Tavernier, and there's a reason why he's behind Coleman and Godfrey at Everton. Sadly, he's not yet found a club coach who can develop his skills into being a crack defender as well as an asset going forward. We all know he could be that Nathan Patterson with the proper level of nurturing. On Friday we saw a Nathan Patterson devoid of any confidence who is well out of his current depth. At the risk of being ridiculed, Anthony Ralston is probably a better option at RB right now because he is steady and confident. Nathan Patterson is neither of those at the moment.
  12. Vikingtit has been quiet lately....................
  13. Pedant alert. Your post got me thinking. Off the top of my head, in recent times the three Euro 21 games, the Serbia play-off and both qualifiers v England for WC 2018 were on council telly. As for friendlies, the Hungary-Scotland game in March 2018 (1-0, Scott Brown, penalty missed by Charlie Mulgrew) was on council telly. Fellow posters may be able to confirm any other rare Scotland appearances on council channels.
  14. Many of us are not interested in using Twitter, Facebook or any other of that shite, so you can get that attitude fired right into the bin Welshbairn. The SFA have a duty to keep the membership informed, and frankly their communications to their clients have been lacking for quite a while now. The lack of attention to detail is becoming a more regular feature (including getting the date of the Netherlands game totally wrong last Friday). It would not surprise me if they are delegating these responsibilities to younger people who have no significant record in effective customer communication. The evidence certainly points in that direction. Whoever is in charge of the communication strategy, and on signing off on what is sent to the membership needs their backside kicked up and down Carmunnock Road. The information we are receiving at the moment does not fully meet the service we pay for. And that is not acceptable under any serious analysis.
