  1. a bill that would probably never have come to light or been bothered about if folk spent less time arguing with randoms on twitter, is my take.
  2. You could be right there but I reckon if the SNP or any Scottish independence movement went into an election and got 75% Yes, something would have to give. Even the English recognise Scotland is a country, would be a tough sell to deny independence in that situation. Especially given precedent of a referendum having taken place already. Ultimately I do think it's upto the Scottish people whether we're independent, regardless of legalities. Democracy and public pressure supersedes law if the will is there. Fact is neither the Union or Independence are heavily favoured. We live in a divided nation and the SNP/Indpendence movement can't wish that away. If it was 75/25 in Yes's favour, we'd be in a very different ball game. Yousaf would call a vote tomorrow.
  3. You didn't get much kudos for this but I actually agree haha Definitely not going on a negative tangent here, im flying but whoever gave the go ahead to plan the stadium in such a lopsided stadium needs a shake. it is a shame we have a great support, big fanbase and we have an entire part of the ground's atmosphere dissipating into fresh air. im sure players would come to the navy blue regardless but it probably doesn't help attract players. i will now stop moaning about it and start looking forward to putting the wee smelly manager from Cove in his place.
  4. Morrison, Spencer, Lang, Donaldson could all take it .. in fact the whole team have been superb. I'd go Morrison as it's been a while we've had a player who looks like he puts fear into the opposition every time he has the ball.
  5. A hybrid Standing section at the side would be class . Bring back the cages At the beginning, we didn't envisage not competing the stadium by 2025 eh! Does it ever get discussed at board level? I presume weve just been too concerned about staying afloat last few years Ps even if they built some offices/business units/helix stuff and fired in a few seats/standing it would at least complete it to some extent
  6. I have no idea, I just find it hard to believe for teams in our own league rather than QP. at our level our crowds will have a lot to do with it, i'd imagine. granted there are examples of unsustainable spending but thought those days were largely gone. without knowing, I can't say..
  7. I agree, getting ahead of myself but we have a great potential to push on. Falkirk is a growing place in the central belt, can imagine parents moving here want their kids to evade the old firm poison. the atmosphere has improved no end, helps when you are winning. would be great to push on and see a real move up the pack, we can but dream but would love to see the stadium get completed to improve the atmosphere further. it's the one thing that sticks in the craw, looks tinpot and ruins the atmosphere somewhat.
  8. Find that really hard to believe with their crowds but if so shows the draw of the Navy blue , were it not for money.
  9. under 12s already get a free season ticket don't they? We could send out a periodical reminder of this to the schools every month?
  10. Sorry you're right, I bet he really hates catholics. point taken.
  11. I was firmly in the "bin McGlynn" camp at the start of the season but I was so wrong and gladly eating humble pie. We were so one paced last year, it looked to me like we couldn't mix it up. The worst was the semi final, we were passing without purpose. If you look at the goals on sat...the many, beautiful goals... there's variety to our play. We can play quick, we can play patient, direct, short. That's what was missing last season for me above all.. a guile to change the pace of the game. Having Spencer, Miller and Tait in midfield has really brought out Nesbitt and Morrison's qualities. Brilliant. I'm buzzing for next year, trying to think where to improve bar the goalie!?
  12. A "self denying ordinance", that sounds like a recipe for clearing everything right up aye But does she have a Hate incident against her name? Seems zealots have complained. I wonder what mines is for F*fe hating. will need to put in a stasi request in a few months.
  13. I have a suspicion, a small one, McCoist may have been joking somewhat..... humour by pass ..
  14. effeminate? it's basically someones personality isn't it, polite society has attempted to de-gender everything apart from identity and gone the other way with it, you can't put people in boxes eh. that's a good thing.
  15. That would appear to address the main issue people are claiming to see with this law - other than it being a distraction and potentially unnecessary (Tomkins actually voted against it). See just as a wee point though, it's obviously not a hate crime but will you have a whole load of hate incidents logged against your name a la Murdo Fraser? That in itself doesn't seem right, either.
  16. Breach of the peace seems to be a good law for basically "go and stop doing that, you're annoying everybody" Up until now most folk have gone along with it (and still do) but with covid and youtube mangling some people's brains, some need to see an express law for everything! The "don't be a dick law" can never be written down precisely because it's too hard to define. "Reasonable" is the best word in law.
  17. Cool, thanks. I'll have a look. I have just done this and have to agree that if it is accurate, I don't think this is the great issue of our times. Although, i'm still not totally convinced current legislation isn't sufficient either and they could be getting on with other things! I suppose if i'm playing devils advocate, if a Trans person says someone is deliberately "mis"-gendering them, the offender (sic) doesn't agree their favoured identity is real... is it a hate crime? Is that the nub of it? In which case, surely any "reasonable" person would say that's bollocks and move on. Just like the free speech zealots you could have trans people deliberately trying to force people to address them in their preferred identity and if their opponents fail to comply, put in a complaint. It's all a load of nonsense isn't it, this. None of these things actually happen to any great degree other than in people's twitters, eh? I doubt it's really going to make much odds in the grand scheme of things! Front page news though today.
  18. even in this mad delusion Ian Murray's Raith Rovers taking Dundee United all the way is far superior to Airdrie's season? they're 19 points ahead having played one game more.
  19. great to see old faces on Saturday, smiles on everyone's faces. The doldrum years has made this title sweet. feels like our club is back! Think Tait looks a player. Would try to tie him down.
  20. what I don't understand is surely abusing anybody is already a crime so what's the point of this legislation? Presumably we couldn't go about abusing disabled people last weekend? not trying to be obtuse, i just can't see what the point of it is. If someone was going about Buchanan street saying "euthanise disabled people" surely the police could move them on previously? even just as a public nuisance. It seems to me some people want the impossible for the law to account for all behaviours when humans, on the whole, behave to social norms rather than the baseline criminal law. There is deliberately a gap between bad behaviour and criminal law. On the other hand, other people think unless something is expressly criminalised in law they should have the "right" to do it and go about deliberately stretching boundaries. These mad "free speech" zealots. This is quite an american view of behaviour and not one Scottish society has been used to. i.e. just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. don't know what im saying here lol but I do wonder what the net benefit of this legislation actually is. It seems to have just got people's backs up. I mean surely it's not suggesting you have to agree a transwomen is in fact a women? That can't be right surely, I doubt it's saying that.
  21. Was the only one there at lunchtime today. Looks like a poor turnout. To be fair nearly didn't vote. Half of the candidates in the ward will get elected anyway. Assuming people vote along similar lines as always it's just a matter of shuffling the deck a little bit for the big parties. Voted independent. No idea what they stand for but weary of the mainstream parties these days. It's only taken me two decades but I'm now non-political haha, used to believe in it all too. I can't even get annoyed about it now.
  22. Went as a neutral. Raith had a short period of about 5 mins second half that had celtic raising their eyebrow slightly. Apart from that well, well beaten. Thought Raith were far too respectful first half and should have got more in Celtic's faces. I know celtic are a good team but they sat off too much too deep. No7 and no9 we're particularly terrible. Fair play to the Raith support though, decent numbers and were heard. Could have been doing with an early booking to get the game spiced up a bit.
  23. Yeah that's really poor. Ironically if he really was a peado would they feel ok joking about it? Doubtful. So its ok then to jump on a bandwagon slandering someone as a wee joke.. poor taste for an official channel as you say. This isn't a WhatsApp group. Hamilton lad got jottered for talking about a jobby, this is a way worse.
  24. If true I hope he gets his jotters. That's appalling. Not one for dragging people out of jobs but it's not an issue to joke about on official channels, is it. Calling a guy a peado basically when it's been investigated and put to bed long ago. It's the worst you can call someone. Wouldn't be something to joke about even if the facts merited it. Also 18 pound!!? Shambles. Coyb
  25. This thread doesn't matter as the UK govt have decided it's irrelevant what the target is or any of your opinion. Let that settle in before typing paragraphs about pros, cons and targets. Your opinion doesn't matter. That goes for Oakshelf and it goes for pro-Independents. The liberty to change your mind with arguments good or bad is of no relevance. Doesn't matter what 2, 3, 4, 5 million citizens of Scotland think on the matter, it's upto one person in 10 downing street or a Labour MP for an English constituency maneuvering. Is that right? You decide but if we ever get the chance and I don't expect it anytime soon, i'll be voting Yes.
