  1. Strathaven are a decent young team played them in a friendly 3 weeks ago. Won 4-3 but tbh we missed a few and they look as if they are finding there feet in the Ams ranks. Beat Accies AFC week after us.
  2. They will still be close but?? not sure if KP will stay in light of a 7 game amateur ban not sure he could sit out that long
  3. lol. Glenburn quite tight as a group to be honest must just be too many boys away
  4. lol its never ending Mick. Obviously it was YOU that was paying the players lol
  5. Has Chizzy walked lads?? heard he had last night after the sending offs last night
  6. Viewfield Rovers are looking forward to hosting Kilbride Thistle on the 24th and New Farm on the 27th. 2 top teams there is no point playing teams you expect to beat.
  7. Correction you said 2 amateur teams not AYRSHIRE its still nonsense
  8. I know m8 and if you look further up you will see that I quoted that very same thing.
  9. What one lol? Thornhill was centre half only one I recognised
  10. Watched Bellfield v Dean last night. Was a kick and rush game both teams relying on their pacey players. Ended 3-3 but I personally thought Dean were the better team on the night. Wee Roy Barr with another 2 for Bellfield, said it before and ill say it again the boys a scoring machine with bags of ability. Dean were a fitter team it has to be said. Final on Saturday is New Farm v Symington. Symington breezed past Onthank and New Farm toiled the other night v a very good Killie Ams team but Saturday be a different game.
  11. Symington with 1 red too!! Chizzy walked away last night saying hes had enough so that's going to be interesting.
  12. Im not sure I mentioned current success at all? what he has done is get the chairman to back him so id say that's a success?? I don't think you can look at the squad he has developed and believe they will be a mediocre team. Yes becoming the top team in Scotland is a HUGE ask considering the teams that are about but that quote didn't come from Mick. My reply was based on a comment that there were to Ayrshire Amateur teams better than Darvel and that's just nonsense.
  13. not sure if that's aimed at my post?? what would you need me to explain
  14. Are you saying there's 2 amateur teams better than Darvel in Ayrshire?? who would that be and tbh I cant believe that comment considering none of those amateur teams could topple Micks Amateur team last season?? not sure what's changed with Mick adding even more quality to the Darvel squad. Darvel might not be everybody's cup of tea and certainly Darvel legend appears to be nobody's cup of tea lol. I personally think Legend is just a staunch supporter and fair play to him for it. What I do see is a waive of Jealousy following Mick and Darvel after the works they have carried out. Legend is being slated for stating that they have a desire to become the best junior team in Scotland? why? if you don't set goals then you will just become a mediocre Junior team fighting relegation or mid table at best like most of the teams represented on this chat. I personally think and have said it for a few year now that Junior football is fecked at the lower end. Players are leaving BC to go straight into Junior rather than developing for a couple of years in the amateur leagues. What do they learn? nothing. I see most of them now either not playing football at all or taking themselves back to amateur status where they should have started in the first place. I have been a long term admirer of how Mick Kennedy handles himself and his winning mentality. His players would run through brick walls for him and his coaches and I am more than sure that will not have changed at Darvel. For me I say Good luck to him and Dravel and look forward to the hate on here driven by Darvels success in the league the play.
  15. When someone of Mick Kennedys stature leaves an amateur club the replacement was always going to struggle. That said, I still believe they will come good although im 50/50 on how well they will do this season. A lot of the other teams seem to be highly active on the signing front and will fancy their chances.
  16. Hi We are looking for an opponent for this Saturday due to our scheduled opponents cancelling. We have our own park in Lochwinnoch, beer and grub after the game in our clubhouse. 2pm ko. Viewfield Rovers
  17. New farm were nowhere near full strength just so you kow and IMO killie ams look a very decent side this year.
  18. Viewfield Rovers in Lochwinnoch i manage them im from stewarton and a couple boys from town play for me
  19. To be fair bud its only been me thats bleated on how well.they will do and im being honest its my opinion and i stand by it
  20. Certainly not the best performance m8 but the killie ams team i saw last night certainly werent poor.
  21. Viewfield Rovers (CAFL) V Broomloans (AAFL) Saturday 2pm KO Viewfield Park, Viewfield welcome Broomloans to Viewfield park for their 2nd preseason game. After last weeks victory tomorrow will be a completely different challenge, Having come up against Broomloans many a time in Ayrshire we know we are in for a battle as well as a game. Strong physical side that let you know they are there. Looking forward to see how some new additions cope we have a few missing due to holidays so it gives others much needed game time.
