16 signed players (now 17) 3 months before the season starts is more than we’ve had at this stage for many years! Probably another 2 or 3 to come in, but still opportunities for South boys when needed.

Is it just Lewis Mccintyre that has made step up from the reserves ?

Possibly Tam but if I’m honest I can’t see them taking too many chances with the youngsters because if they have another poor season they could potentially end up risking Lowland League football and that’s a scenario I personally doubt they might ever return from ! Just my opinion but I’d reckon they’ll spend some of the Rangers cash to acquire a few proven players for this level in an attempt to bounce back straight away.

I think most people realise that there are several very decent teams in LL that are certainly better than the perennial strugglers in League 2 and once the WOSFL adds a few more strong outfits it’ll be nearly impossible for them to the SPFL any time soon. The real shame is that this Pyramid currently stifles these forward thinking sides and I for one would love to see 2 promotion places available for those looking to progress and help revitalise Scottish Football which is long verdure

Going by Stranraer Facebook they have signed a lot of good players and used that rangers money so must be going for it to get straight back up. Doubt they will use any of reserve boys unless struggling maybe... Lewis Mccintyre will be a miss

He’s there too ...... take it from me ! Johnny Baxter too apparently until he leaves for pastures new later in the year.  Anyone thinks Threave , Saints , Abbey Vale or anyone else will keep pace with that potential line up is deluded at best .......

On that case then they’re going be super strong. Take it they’ve kept everyone else such as defence and midfield?

Season is going to be very interesting - looking forward to it and hopefully the Saints can cause some upsets :D

Dolly apparently , Caldo returning from Threave , Dean Agnew coming back and other rumours that guys returning from the Juniors

Yes just heard today that Dean Agnew and Andrew Donley have supposedly signed with Reserves.... nothing on Caldo or anyone else

  5. Saints making plenty of signings. Few of them signings I have no idea who they are .. new striker and new defenders. Are they even from this area or they throwing some cash about ?

underdogs for league possibly next season whenever that is.

7.15 start would’ve given the Officials 165 minutes in which to play 2 hours of football then any potential penalties ! Surely having three quarters of an hour in hand and even allowing for stoppages , HT and FT breaks they could easily have played the match to a conclusion. All these facilities are 10pm for floodlights so surely this needed to be taken into account , therefore the Officials should’ve started the match on time , then again for the second half with perhaps a ten minutes stoppage at the interval ! The host Club has take all the flak here for something that was completely  our with their control - they didn’t set the kick off time , they didn’t delay the start times , they couldn’t alter the floodlight timings but still all and sundry pointed the finger firmly in their direction when factors decided by other parties effectively caused this scenario. A lesson can be learned here to avoid any future repeat of the disappointing conclusion to a great match so hopefully the Executive will take these things into account when making their decision tonight

don’t think anyone can Blame Newton Stewart at all what happened. Think the referee and his officials are to blame for this and even the league itself for not making referee aware and arranging it for half 7 kick off. Also a shame for both clubs involved in what I hear was a fantastic game but whatever decision is made is prob going to be the wrong one but I’m my opinion I think would be very harsh to not award the win to Stranraer especially when cup finals and games etc have been awarded to winning team at time when there was much longer time left in game to play

You expect us to believe you just happened to be passing Stranraer on a miserable Tuesday evening , aye right hahaha !!! I’d like to say I’ve enjoyed your less the witty repartee but I’d be lying but in the spirit of the game let us know next time your at Blairmount and we’ll make sure you get a good vantage point and a warm welcome and I’m being serious 👍🏻

Can’t force you to believe anything and I doubt many can with the attitude you have but ok, I’ll go home and change my address where I live to Stranraer if that’s where you say I live as you know best 😂👍 I’ll get on the phone to the Stranraer coach and organise my debut for them when yous play next as I’m sure i wouldn’t have any issues playing against that newton Stewart team that’s for sure.  😄

Ooooooh very defensive my clayhole friend hahaha. The Club at least provides a report unlike your mob who rely on one of your Special Soldiers daddies very one sided and very bias version of events lol. Does your Mummy know you’ve nearly used all of our data for n this convo hahaha

The mummy jokes are out, that says it all. Must be some laugh at Newton Stewart Football Club bar the football to laugh at.

My mob? Dunno if you can read really well but I’m not from Stranraer or do I support Stranraer. Work there few occasions and pass by to watch local football if I can just like I did Tuesday night and last night at Creetown game.

Sounds like you must’ve actually been playing to have had such a fantastic view of these incidents on a miserable evening ! Which of their defenders are you my anonymous friend hahahaha

You are a clown of a man. Clear to see from anywhere you were watching on the pitch. Stick to making up proper match reports and no excuses for your team and you’ll be fine

Where in Stranraer do you live my man hahaha ! Both incidents arms were raised away from the body therefore under the new rules they are penalties but we’ve grown used to mobs like yours getting the benefit of the doubt. Oh and in terms of spelling mistakes what’s a ‘Goal game?’ hahaha , those in glass houses my illiterate friend hahahaha

First one defender blocks the cross and ball bounces up after he blocks and hits his hand when it’s in a complete natural position and second one his arms haven’t even moved from his side, was more half body and arm and once again arms have not moved away. Not once was the arms “raised” away from his body. Think someone needs a new pair of glasses. End of the day, yous are no where near level Stranraer are even after them losing lots of players.

ps, I don’t live in Stranraer and I’m not a Stranraer fan, just enjoy good football and don’t enjoy teams making up a false match report which did not reflect the game one bit when they got outplayed and beaten easily.

  11. That newton Stewart match report is even funnier than the spelling. Dunno what game they were watching. Two clear penalties and a defence splitting pass? Hahahaha. Goal game from a bad mistake from Stranraer defender and no way were they penalties. 3-1 scoreline flattered them. All Stranraer whole game

  12. Took in Stranraer vs Newton game. Easy win for Stranraer never really got out of first gear and controlled easy

But my word, think I witnessed one of the worst tackles ever seen on a pitch from newton striker on big Scott from Reserves. Deservedly red card for newton player but can’t blame Scott for his reaction and getting sent off to which ended up in a brawl. Could of easily ended up with a serious injury
