  1. So you think if Alan Maybury continues as manager then, we're definitely getting relegated? I don't. We just need a win to get some confidence. IF, we beat Cove then I think we'd go on a wee run and beat Alloa and Kelty as well. We've really missed Fontaine this season and IF he gets fit enough to play a few 90 minutes then that would make a massive difference to us keeping some clean sheets. For Cove, we'll I'm surprised to see them just above us as they're expected to be one of the top 4 teams and certainly in the playoffs. They've some very good players, but so have we so I hope for a narrow home win to get us up and moving in the right direction.
  2. I would doubt it. They've gone missing since March!
  3. That's an interesting point, and I absolutely agree with you! It's been absolutely dire at Meadowbank this season and I've only been to a few of the games. Where could we go though? That's the huge problem. Not many other grounds available in Edinburgh for us.
  4. 3 or 4-0 away win for Falkirk here. Looks too one sided this game. Plus being at Meadowbank it just seems like it will be a shite day all round.
  5. Edinburgh City name is back but that's the only good news for us this season. Our two best players departed in the summer and so we've made a poor start this time. That, and the fact Falkirk are the greatest team Ever mean only one result, a huge away win.
  6. Nice to see Annan following us up to League one! Nice club and good fans This game will no doubt be viewed as a basement battle, wooden spoon play off by everyone outside these two teams. Let's hope for an entertaining game and a few goals.
  7. Apart from having to have Falkirk visit us, the rest of that sounds good. Because..... This unallocated seating that's been in place so far this season is an utter shambles! Why did we even change the system from last season, where you went on the Fanbase app and could see what seats were available, which was good?
  8. It's like that every week we're at home tbf. We had a pre-season friendly with Hibs and everyone was queued round the block for easy 20 or 30 minutes trying to get in the two turnstiles. To be fair though, to the few guys trying to run EdinCity these days, they're trying their best! Nothing to do with the set up at Meadowbank is the clubs fault. Its ALL on Edinburgh Leisure for providing that shite "ground" for our club to use.
  9. Bonnyrigg Rose 1-1 Stranraer Clyde 0-2 Peterhead Dumbarton 0-1 Forfar Athletic East Fife 1-1 Stenhousemuir Spartans 1-0 Elgin City
  10. Clyde 1-1 Bonnyrigg Dunbarton 0-1 Spartans Forfar 3-0 Elgin Peterhead 1-1 Stenhousemuir stranraer 1-1 East Fife
  11. Aye. It's a big rugby match as well. Trains will be rammed full. Don't forget also, the Edinburgh Festival has started! (Which is shite time for you's to visit. August.)
  12. I take it that's been in the pipeline a wee while? That's no a move you decide to make in 5 minutes! Anyways, will City now be signing another goalie or do we think Cammy Quate will be sitting on the bench all season? With the goalie situation changing and the new lad up top, I'm slightly more optimistic than I was a couple of weeks ago!
  13. Ruby, what happened to these decent signings that were being announced? Unless they're all top defenders we're going down unfortunately. I'd sign up for 8th place right now!!!
  14. Correct! They should change this thing to groups of either 4 or 6, so everyteam plays each matchday. It's ridiculous to have teams sitting without any fixture on a Saturday afternoon!
  15. City played well first half and would've deserved to go in 2-0 up at halftime That was encouraging as, on paper at least, we have a very poor squad this season and I'm expecting a long struggle all year. Our defence is utter shite and Hibs strolled through easily second half. Anyone know what's actually wrong with Liam Fontaine?, as we've missed him badly since March. we defo still need minimum, a proper first choice goalkeeper, two proper defenders and a good striker to replace Robbo's goals.
  16. Agreed. Much too early to predict this! So here are my early predictions for now, to contribute to this thread. 1) QOS 2) Hamilton 3) Falkirk 4) Cove Rangers ------------------- 5) Alloa 6) Montrose 7) Stirling Albion 8)Kelty Hearts 9) Annan 10) Edinburgh City For me it's between Queens and Hamilton to win the title. Hamilton making decent signings, but Queens improved massively once Marvin Bartley arrived last season. At the bottom we, (Edinburgh City) must be odds on favourites to go down with the squad we have left, AT THE MOMENT! Hopefully we replace Robbo and Craigen with better, or it's going to be a long season! The promoted teams usually have momentum to do well, so Stirling and Annan should do OK.
  17. Cheers! Good to know from a betting point of view. Should be Falkirk then. It is Falkirk though, so probably Qots.
  18. With Dunfermline and Airdrie both gone, Which teams will be full-time in League one next season?
  19. Robbie is a good goalkeeper, don't bother with what the Falkirk fans say! He was the best goalie in League one last season according to stats I read. I don't know your other keeper, but don't take it as certainty that Robbie will be number two!
  20. It doesn't look like there's any way it can happen, however if the three rows of seats in the stand could be built on and doubled up to six rows that would be a big improvement. Other than that, we're waiting years on this stand on the opposite side being built and I hope it's higher than three rows.
  21. Because it's the councils facility that they built, for athletics. The only blame I'd give the old board here is they were too desperate to get "home" to Meadowbank. Even although that new sports centre there is Not home as we remembered it!
  22. I too hope the name gets changed back to Edinburgh city, although it never really bothered me that much what the team name was. For me a FAR bigger problem was moving back to Meadowbank, with the state of that place for spectators! Actually was back at Ainslie Park for the first time in over a year, last month for the Albion rovers play-off game. I'd forgotten how much better it was at AP than Meadowbank is. I know it's Edinburgh Council's fault for building Meadowbank, in it's current state and our club can take No blame for that. However I'm not sure what we can do to make it any better! And it NEEDS, to be made better or the club will never grow it's fanbase.
  23. Same here, but in reverse! I Very much hope Annan do the business and see off Clyde! I'd love to see Annan come up to League one, as you say a good away day, plus they deserve it. Whereas EVERYTHING about playing Clyde FC is grim... Hopefully, at least 3-0 Annan tonight!
