  1. Akio has 5 goals in 7 games for my club since signing. Just scored a last minute winner to put us 4 points clear of 2nd with 6 games left. Thanks for running him out of Dingwall!
  2. How has Loturi been this year? From afar it seems like he struggled the first few months but really improved and has a starting role locked down. First half of 2022 he was probably Cavalry's best midfielder and was dominant in a few appearances at RB before the transfer. We haven't replaced him and it's very noticeable. Canadian Premier League is probably closer to the Scottish Championship though.
  3. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see Loturi get his Canada debut in this window, especially if they go up against Curacao, that's a perfect opportunity to cap tie him and give Eustaquio or Kone a rest going into the Honduras match. His real competition for minutes is Hutchinson and Kaye. Hutchinson is 40 and will go 90 minutes at most. Kaye hasn't played well for Canada for about a year now.
  4. So you have two players photographed "with 16 year olds". The 24 year old black player is called a pedophile by supporters, has press articles written saying the coach and captains saying they need to smarten up, and sent on loan where he is compared to someone convicted in a civil rape case. The 31 year old white player doesn't have any of that. Ross County are having a shit season, and Akio is struggling. But it's wild to see the difference in how he's being treated here compared to the other person in the photo Has to be more to this story, no?
  5. So Bair hasn't been good? He wasn't with Vancouver, scored a wonder goal on a hopeful shot and that was about it. I was surprised when he made the move to Scotland as I thought it was a jump up from where he was at. Probably should have stayed with HamKam he did well there and it would have been a good level for him.
  6. IMO the Canadian Premier League is likely similar in level to the Scottish Championship. The only players I know of who've played in both are Charlie Trafford and Fraser Aird, who are both starters for Cavalry (Loturi's old club and the club I have had season tickets to since they were founded) when healthy. The best few players move on to better leagues quickly. This window players will have transferred to Ligue 2, MLS, Scottish Prem and the Championship. But like every league there are players who aren't great, or who come from low levels like 6th tier England who do quite well. Both Akio and Loturi were highly rated last year. CPL has an award for best under-21 player and Loturi was nominated for the award.
  7. For those who've seen Akio's highlights, here's a lowlight. Had a massive lapse of concentration today and booted the ball off the opponent's goal line as it was going in. Still a good player, but if he signs with you guys you'll see this clip soon enough.
  8. Easton Ongaro? I'd be a lot more excited about Akio if I were you...
  9. Hello from Canada. Having watched Loturi and Akio play live for my club in Calgary I can help... Loturi is a central midfielder by trade, a technically proficient deep lying playmaker. Cavalry have a plethora of defensive minded central midfielders this year, but when everyone is healthy, Loturi has been at the top of the depth chart along with former Hamilton and ICT midfielder Charlie Trafford. IMO his strengths are his passing, technical ability and tackling. He's filled in at RB the last few games and has been incredible defensively getting seemingly every tackle correct, although he doesn't have the pace to be a modern fullback bombing up and down the wings. I wouldn't consider him strong, although he has bulked up significantly since signing as a 17 year old in 2019. Given the physicality of the Scottish Prem I am not sure how well his game would fit in but he has a good skillset. Akio played as a #9 with Calgary Foothills while in University but has been more of a winger in University and CPL. IMO he's the opposite profile to Loturi, an absolute specimen physically with great pace, but not the best touch or technical abilities. One of the more lethal finishers in the league, but hasn't really had much opportunity in front of goal this year. IMO he'd be a better fit in the Scottish Prem given his profile and physicality. He has a Youtube channel where he breaks down his touches every game if you want to check it out https://www.youtube.com/c/WilliamAkio. IMO the Canadian Premier League is probably on par with the Scottish Championship, but it's a new league so it's tough to compare the two. Cavalry are one of the better teams in the league so they could likely give someone like Dundee a good fight. Moving to Ross County would be a decent step up but not an insurmountable one.
  10. Hello from Canada! Long time lurker, first time poster. Wanted to get people's thoughts on Zanatta this year. Does he have a chance at getting decent minutes this year, or is he better off getting loaned out to a Championship club? He was highly rated before he moved to Europe, but it was still a pleasant surprise to see him break through with the first team a few years back.
