  1. Pollok goal disallowed, for what looks to be a foul? However the ball was not yet in play when the assistant raises their flag... (skip to like 25secs)
  2. Tuned in about 10 minutes ago, only person at a ground who actually said "GOAL <team name>" was the voice from Inverness who I'd never heard before.
  3. These NSFL drone videos are scary and just something you wouldn't be considering when thinking about war like 10+ years ago. https://twitter.com/Teoyaomiquu/status/1748005411943235997
  4. It's Gretna v Ed Uni on the last day of the LL season, Uni 3 points behind but with a better GD at the moment so that could change. Or if Clyde stage a 5 point comeback in L2 and it's Forfar or Elgin who go down with EK going up, then no one gets relegated from the LL. Or if unlicensed Beith or St Cadoc's win the WOSFL then it's likely the EOS winners go up when they play the SOS champions.
  5. "What's he supposed to do" says Sutton - maybe not go studs up into the head of the goalkeeper at chest height? The player must know there's a chance of making contact even if you do get the ball. Sutton calls for action surrounding head injuries and concussion, well this is the sort of thing that should be a red card as it's quite obviously serious foul play (endangering the safety of an opponent). Red cards are needed here so that players think twice about their actions, as we've seen in rugby with the protocols on head contact and tackle heights. This would be a red card in rugby - head contact, foul play, high degree of danger, no mitigation - and should be in football as well.
  6. *12th - the bottom 5 are all non-licensed. IHS can reach a maximum of 59 pts so a few games and soon a licensed tier 6 champion will be confirmed.
  7. Can IFAB not just get into the 21st century and introduce blood/HIA temporary subs like in rugby?
  8. But you'd think that if KRR were paying normal rates to rent the ground for Saturday games and/or training nights then the council would be happy to take their money while they decide on the lease? Or are one or both parties not speaking to each other about using it while the lease is still being sorted?
  9. You were supposed to be playing Threave at home on 20th January which would break up the run of away games, but for some reason it is postponed and now Threave are playing Stranraer in a South Counties FA Challenge Cup match. Something that Kennie should really be explaining, especially as Bellshill have played 3-4 games fewer than their nearest challengers and are still in the Junior Cup.
  10. Leith Athletic making the long trip to Threave, but they are quite rightly not happy about it and seemingly not getting answers as to why they have to make the trip two days before Christmas - when 20th January is a free week for them and two other ties with LL/EOS clubs are being played then. https://leithathleticeos.co.uk/club-statement-south-challenge-cup-4th-round/ https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/leith-athletic-demand-explanation-from-south-challenge-cup-committee-over-scheduled-match-4451914 When I looked at the WOS website a couple of weeks ago, Threave had a fixture on the 20th so it's not quite as straightforward as the other two ties. Now it appears Threave have a free week in the WOS and instead are playing Stranraer in the South Counties FA Challenge Cup. Meanwhile their opponents Bellshill posted a fixture list on Facebook 3 days ago, seemingly unaware that their 20th January game is postponed! So how did that come about @Kennie and if Threave can miss a WOS fixture why couldn't the Leith game be played then?
  11. Nothing wrong with the other two games being played on 20th January, as there's no LL or EOS league fixtures scheduled yet so the cup games can get priority. WOS games being played tomorrow to help ease fixture congestion, but no need for Leith to travel when the 20th is an option. I'm sure when I last looked on the WOS website that Threave had a game on the 20th, but now they (and Bellshill) are the only teams without a game that weekend. However if you look at Bellshill's Facebook page, 3 days ago they posted their fixture list which had them playing Threave at home on the 20th! So how did Threave get that changed with the WOS to allow a SCFA cup game to take precedence?
  12. Only way it changes is if non-league is more attractive to SFPL clubs (and if more non-league clubs are promoted) - in other words, if better tier 6 clubs replace current LL clubs. Eventually that will take place with 1 up from tier 6 each season, but by not opening up promotion it just means it'll take longer for the LL to achieve and thus longer for it to become a better league. Of course the LL clubs in danger of being relegated are not going to hasten their own demise, especially when there's not even automatic relegation just now.
  13. That's good to know, at the very least there should be a motion to change the rules so that there is no chance of the bottom team escaping relegation.
  14. Guessing there is some issue with deciding who is getting the long term lease, obviously the ground is ready to be booked for hosting football on an ad-hoc basis but perhaps neither Rob Roy nor the Council want to allow that to happen whilst the lease is being sorted?
  15. The only good outcome from the B team vote is if the fact that it's continuing with 18 rather than 16 teams persuades enough clubs to increase relegation/promotion, because 1 team up from tier 6 and no guarantee of relegation from tier 5 is not good enough for a league of this size.
  16. If only there was a ground in Kirkintilloch that could be used by Rob Roy if that fixture was reversed...
  17. This is the fourth season with more than 16 clubs, the league seems to be managing fine.
  18. Especially if it meant the EOS and WOS champions getting automatic promotion each season.
  19. Before tonight we were on 4.000 for the season, great week of results to get to 6.200 - and there was certainly points dropped over the campaign by all three sides. Looks like we'll finish at least 11th as the Swiss are unlikely to catch us (impossible for Austria or Denmark even if their clubs won all games), but the Czechs taking advantage of only have 4 clubs with 3 of them still in Europe. As we have the largest score for 19/20 outside the top 7, that drops off next season so we'll be in a big fight top 15, at least this week's points brings us much closer to 11th. Aberdeen's 5.5 club points is the largest for anyone outwith Celtic and Rangers since they score 6.0 in 2007/08, will be useful for them to help with seeding should they get into Europe next season. Celtic keep their 57th / 32.000 while Rangers move up 5 to 26th with 62.000. 9 Turkey 5.000 3.100 6.700 11.800 10.500 37.100 2/ 4 10 Scotland 9.750 8.500 7.900 3.500 6.200 35.850 1/ 5 11 Czech Republic 2.500 6.600 6.700 6.750 12.000 34.550 3/ 4 12 Switzerland 6.400 5.125 7.750 8.500 4.000 31.775 2/ 5 13 Austria 5.800 6.700 10.400 4.900 3.800 31.600 1/ 5 14 Denmark 5.125 4.125 7.800 5.900 8.500 31.450 1/ 4 https://kassiesa.net/uefa/data/method5/crank2024.html
  20. https://socialblade.com/twitter/user/radiogenoa/monthly Up from 339k in the last month, looks like they had about 200k in September when they started tweeting a lot more.
  21. Well it's a year and a half since you moved back to Meadowbank so surely it should've been a lot longer than that. That's assuming Meadowbank could ever be a decent venue? As soon as the plans came out it was obviously not going to be suitable.
  22. No Beith thread but they've applied for planning permission for floodlights (only 200lux with one at each corner but enough for entry level), so if everything else has been sorted in the meantime it could mean a licence in the spring. https://www.ayrshire-today.co.uk/news/23977356.beith-juniors-plans-lodged-bellsdale-park-floodlights/ https://www.eplanning.north-ayrshire.gov.uk/OnlinePlanning/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=S2Z7TQLEJXG00 Ground ownership issue not actually sorted as no more information can be found about the trust that was wound up, but seems like they can go ahead anyway.
  23. Leith not happy their SRCC game is two days before Christmas, though with the next round on 3rd February and Threave playing on 20th January one of Threave's league games would have to make way. https://leithathleticeos.co.uk/club-statement-south-challenge-cup-4th-round/
  24. Other leagues keep the same kick-off time throughout the season for clubs with floodlights, which for fans is good - and if you normally play at 2pm then starting at 2.30 or 3 isn't that much of a change versus the extra fans you might get. Kilmarnock are also at home on the 30th so a Friday night game would avoid that as well. Though of course the opposition need to agree.
