  1. I think that's for the pyramid play-off with club 42. The rules for admission to the league are in B4 - where it states unless there's a vacancy, you can only become a member through relegation from the SPFL or promotion from the EOS/SOS (depending on licensing). Presumably there would need to be an amendment to these rules to allow a EOS/SOS/WR/ER play-off? Under rule F7 you'd need a SGM or rule alterations to be sent to the secretary by 30th April ahead of the AGM in late May/June. Not sure what would happen if the SFA wanted the rule changed but the LL didn't...
  2. The advert says "The East Region of the SJFA... as we become part of the SFA pyramid (tier 6)" - that surely means the ERSJFA system will begin at tier 6. It doesn't say if you join the ERSJFA you will play at tier 6 - because why the hell would you split 36 current clubs into a conference system just to put new clubs into tier 6? The EOS went from 13 to 39 so it made sense to run conferences, the ERSJFA going from 36 to say 40 only requires them to increase the Superleague to 14/16 then add the new clubs to the regional divisions.
  3. True. Looked up Selkirk's planning application and they went for a system that gave 217 lux. If it turns out that smaller clubs like Burntisland, Coldstream and WW () need lights to remain licensed, then they could probably get away with lights similar to Penicuik which would surely cost less than Selkirk's £60k.
  4. Watching the Bonnyrigg highlights - intro shows the park and some portacabins which presumably helps meet the ground criteria https://youtu.be/4586Ng4R7I0 Penicuik have recently had a planning application approved for a disabled viewing platform and extension to their pavilion: https://planning-applications.midlothian.gov.uk/OnlinePlanning/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=PGQP5PKV07J00 That led me onto floodlights - looking at their planning application in 2012 (and also Dalkeith's at the same time), they might need to upgrade their lights as the average lux is only ~120 for both, short of the 200 lux required in the 2019 ground criteria. Couldn't find info about Easthouses' lights, but they might the same. And finally on a less optimistic note, Kelty's planning application for their new stand/cafe/offices at the south end of the ground was withdrawn in October.
  5. Looks like Musselburgh were fortunate to get a point, Oakley through on goal late on but couldn't score the winner. Gap now 5 at the top to Penicuik but HoB still have two games in hand.
  6. Of course all of this is true, you're arguing with yourself here. The point is that applications for full membership of the SFA cannot be ratified by the board until the club is in the SFA pyramid. We'll just need to wait and see whether SJFA clubs will be part of the pyramid next season...
  7. There's an updated licensing manual on the SFA website: https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/media/4676/scottish-fa-club-licensing-manual-2019.pdf Differences to 2018 in the ground section - 5.7 floodlights required and 5.15 Disability Access Office now only required for gold/silver, bronze just needs to appoint a nominated individual to implement club policy and/or make changes.
  8. Minimum for entry level is 90 x 56m (98.4 x 61.2 yds), bronze is 95 x 60m (103.9 x 65.6 yds), think Newlandsfield is big enough for the former? Suppose the only way you'd know the impact would be to do the detailed design work showing light levels at various points around the ground, like I've seen on planning applications before where houses are closeby.
  9. Berwick to London in 7 days is £57 with free wi-fi, roughly the same journey time. Seats look good, though you'd have complaints about the table size. Unfortunately you're not going to get wider carriages or double-decker trains over here unless the nationalised bit of our network gets lots and lots of money to spend. No doubt one of the main difference is the Danish government put in much more subsidy per passengers than us (maybe not up to date but still gives a comparison https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rail_subsidies#Europe) GWR have new trains (class 800) but these were bought and spec'd by the Department for Transport - there's complaints about the seats, so the government getting involved doesn't always improve things...
  10. And that's only because they couldn't manage to ctrl + F someone's name in a PDF! The good thing about tier 7 conferences is there won't be the same differences in level between top and bottom as there is this season, with the top 16 creamed off. But if all 20 of the Junior clubs comes across, how else do you integrate them? If they go below the EOS clubs in a 3x14 setup, the poorest EOS teams are in the same division as the best ex-Juniors. If you go 3x14 geographical then you'll probably get uneven divisions. I'm sure Tweedmouth and Eyemouth would rather play in those conferences listed above than in a linear setup.
  11. Presumably it won't be clubs like Sauchie or Broxburn as they wouldn't be allowed to just retake their place in the Superleague, so they'd be a tier below where they will be in the EOS next season. And clubs in Edinburgh and Mid/East Lothian would be isolated if they returned so it's unlikely to be them either.
  12. So an amateur team is changing their name and applying to join a junior league, which is apparently going senior next season. Makes complete sense if you're from Bo'ness.
  13. So we'll have gone from the SFA telling clubs to join the EOS to get a licence, to allowing clubs in the ERSJFA as part of the pyramid to get a licence, and then finally to telling those ERSJFA clubs who got a licence to join the EOS if they want to keep it. Wonderful.
  14. If you want to play the numbers game - the SFA pyramid contains 130 clubs, and in the EOS catchment area the SJFA only has 20 clubs. The pyramid system is up and running - it's the SJFA clubs that voted to join so they shouldn't be dictating terms to clubs and leagues already there.
  15. There's two reserve dates on 23rd and 30th March (first one depends on if Kelty get to the Qualifying Cup final). And if EK don't win their South Challenge Cup quarter-final on 2nd March, both will be free on 6th April.

  17. Fort William featured in an football episode of Eorpa https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0001fpc/eorpa-series-26-episode-6
  18. Two games for Chalmers/Husband, one game for Cargill: https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/media/4674/mens-suspension-list-los23-12-december-2018-docx.pdf
  19. When are your floodlights being switched on? It's on the ERSJFA website (now an improved version). Though obviously they felt the first one which didn't mention tier 6 wasn't enough to entice teams. Wonder when the last time they advertised for teams was?
  20. Update after this week's games. Serbia can still be overtaken if Celtic get a draw, while BATE and Malmo both got wins to also qualify and close the gap behind us. Cyprus got a win to move them further ahead. Next season Switzerland, Croatia and Belarus will begin closer to us as they drop a good amount of points gained in 14/15 18 Cyprus 6.125 24.925 +0.500 0 19 Serbia 6.000 22.250 0 20 Scotland 6.750 22.125 1 UEL 21 Belarus 4.500 21.375 +0.500 1 UEL 22 Sweden 4.125 20.900 +0.500 1 UEL 23 Norway 5.375 20.200 +0.250 0 24 Kazakhstan 4.250 19.250 0 As for where 19th gets us - if both the UCL and UEL winners already qualify for the UCL then 19th's champions enter at QR2 instead of QR1. However our coefficient this season affects 2020-21, when the new tournament and access list comes into play: https://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Download/uefaorg/General/02/58/61/42/2586142_DOWNLOAD.pdf There's no change for the UCL, but going higher means the EL2 teams enter at a later stage - but we'd need to get to 15th for that to happen. At which point we get a second team in the UCL, 3rd would go to the UEL QR3 but drop down to the EL2 play-off if they lose.
  21. So what was their plan, to get their licence back (plus the SFA money), then enter the EOS and somehow pay off their debts?
  22. No shit, but the discussion was about the East Region inviting new teams - I don't expect any amateur clubs in East Lothian to join the West or North Regions...
  23. It would be interesting to know the entry criteria for the East Juniors (as the EOS have published theirs online), and also who they hope would join them. If you're an amateur club outside of West Lothian, central Fife or Tayside then surely the EOS makes more sense.
