  1. Strange one. I'm long gone from the town but plenty folk I know who still go to games - home and away - seem excited about the prospect of playoffs and promotion etc. As am I and several other 'ex-pats' I keep in touch with. Is it a hangover maybe from years gone past when I know the Board were dead set against the idea. As Jimmy Shaker says they seem to have changed their tune now though...£££
  2. I must be emotionally blinkered then cos I can't see anything else other than us somehow fucking it up. Buckie's Saturday form has been so woeful, I have no real hopes over the next game against Vale.
  3. Buckie seem to be over their bottom six team gremlins...although it seems to be more 'Saturday fixture gremlins' as their midweek results have been excellent. I would still, as most have here, make the Broch favourites; they seem to have built up a head of steam. I can see Buckie hammering Strathspey twice but doing their usual Saturday dance and dropping points to a much improved Vale this weekend. I can also see Brechin dropping points in Brora. When is Brechin's Keith visit being shoehorned in?
  4. This is the game that came immediately to mind when I saw the Thread title... Awful, awful day.
  5. I feel very dislocated from Buckie's challenge down here and rely on FB mates and highlights available etc, so I can't offer anything from first hand viewing, but I think you're right re the Jags's form. Buckie's midweeks have been phenomenal...beating BOD, Formartine and now Brechin in March (and the Broch in the Abdn Cup)...but also this month we've lost to Wick and Lossie on the Saturdays, and drawn (last minute equaliser) with Locos. Not to mention that inexplicable doing from Nairn in February I think. Two games to come against Strathspey...I'll be honest I'd rather it was against a top six team. I still think Brechin are the favourites, although they seem to have the opposite form problem.
  6. BBC 'gossip' this morning... "Ex-Rangers forward Fashion Sakala was thrilled to swap shirts with his idol Cristiano Ronaldo and said "I hope he'll keep mine too". (Scottish Sun) Turkish club Besiktas want to sign ex-Rangers defender Joe Worrall permanently - despite the fact he has played just one match for them. (Fotomac via Scottish Sun)" Thank f**k ! ...I've been losing sleep over how these two have been getting on. I can have my Monday morning coffee at my desk with an easy mind now...
  7. 'Plucky Hibs shrug off recent malaise to put in better than expected performance only to suffer a late and dubious penalty decision which hands the game to Rangers. 0-1.' Ftfy...
  8. "Ian McCall, whose Clyde side face Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup on Friday, reveals his son Edson, a barber, has cut some of the Dons players' hair. (Sun)" (BBC Gossip page) Did he 'exclusively reveal', as per Gerry McNee in 90's Scotsport style though? If not, then I'm not interested...
  9. Anyone else getting particularly fucking sick of reading about ex-Old Infirmers now playing somewhere else instead of genuine news/gossip about clubs here, in throbbing organs such as EBC Gossip etc? If I read another sentence about Ryan Kent/Morelos/Jota again this season I swear I'm gonnae shit where I stand ! I fear things may get messy...
  10. Aye tbf it's not a 'club-changing' amount, but not to be sniffed at still. My perhaps not so obvious point, was that the hoops he'll probably have to jump through to get there, will doubtless be numerous and protracted, when any fucking spiv with a wad seems to be able to rock up to Glasgow as long as they're lining the coffers of the cheeks.
  11. Saw this morning that he's promising £6M towards players if the investment gets the all clear from the SFA. Am wondering if he should have said that...nothing will put the SFA off more than someone promising a heap of cash out with the Old Infirm towards squad building
  12. As a kid me and my mates used to follow Buckie Thistle around all the time, either on supporters buses or PT, but only ever went to Princess Royal Park once. One incredibly cold January day in the late 70's, white ground, swirling snow (could even have been an orange ball)...and we lost. Great view from the stand though. It's bizarre how new stands these days seem to be designed and built so close to the ground. As in, ground-level. I though the whole point of a grandstand, was to give a 'grandstand view' ?!?
  13. 2-0 us. Ruby hatrick. (two goals and 1 submission) ...and a horses head for Mark Pirie's bed.
  14. Oh indeed...plus our schizophrenic Neanderthal media would go into overdrive over playing 'the auld enemy' (fucking YAWN !) once again to the detriment of everything else. Therefore...guaranteed.
