  1. They are not fans! they are trophy hunters and should be treated accordingly with parody and disdain, although they are good entertainment value as they justify their support for the arse cheeks. Years ago there was a Rangers fan who drank in the Black Bull Polmont. The more his justification was laughed at, the more absurd he became.
  2. If they are good enough they are old enough. At 18 -19 they should be knocking on the door for a start or sub. Fine judgement to make as was proved with Finn Yeats as an 17-18 year old at Aberdeen and got his break at Falkirk. So i'm for giving them a go in particular if its cover for RB, LB, CB all positions that require them, solve that it leaves more cash available for other positions. Also is signals to other young players that are available that Falkirk is the place to go. Time to be bold it's how we picked up Will Vaulks
  3. Jock Stein gave a more detailed interview on that subject when asked if Celtic being so attacking left them defensibly weak, he answered 'Celtic have a very defensive set up. Have possession in the oppositions last 3rd of the pitch' Kind of self-evident, think it was Kenneth Wolsternholme who did commentator impersonations at the BBC who had nowhere to go after that reply.
  4. Thats right, Kenny Burns at Forest would pick up the ball and drive at the defence, take a shot or play a wall pass. Was an underestimated footballer that his hard man image hid.
  5. There was a Brian Clough interview where he discussed that issue. Recycling possession and having every one of your team capable of being creative. Wearing down the opposition having to work harder and concentrate harder than your team. Sooner or later there is a lapse and you pounce. He was a bugger was Clough but his teams were easy on the eye and there's been some similarities in style between Forest and Falkirk this season in particular breaking out from your own half with pace
  6. A tweet has grown arms and legs about Mckenna. Thankfully the nonsense from attention seekers claiming imaginary conversations in supermarkets with club insiders in the know is a thing of the past and potential signings rightly are kept private. McGlynn will have a list drawn up already of 1st choices and options of who he wants and most likely already sounded out a few. It's encouraging that for the first time in years Falkirk are seen as a club the budding Will Vaulks of this generation will see as the team to rebuild their careers. Would not be surprised a gem being signed nobody has heard of. Now what a nice problem that would be. Forget the rumours - that's all they are. Let's wait and see what develops.
  7. It's just not Tait that BBC Alba put in the shop window but a lot of the first team as well. Would not surprise me to see some bids in for them in the closed season.
  8. It is the best team spirit since 'Prime Houstie' and Falkirks never say die patented late goal habit. Credit to those on and off the park. Hamilton as their results prove are a decent team but they were 2nd to Falkirk in every department. The comings and goings in the closed season will be interesting. Can't see us getting Tait as his displays as Hibs intended were to prove himself as a Hibs first team player or the shop window to get a transfer fee.
  9. It shows the potential Falkirk have when you put a winning team on the park and entertain, giving a good day out for the individual and family. Plenty of competition for the punters disposable £ so with a near full house against Alloa everything should be done to entice the individuals who don't normally come to return next season. 1 in 10 coming back would make a difference. Innovative incentives, even vouchers for something, should be available to the support on the final day.
  10. Old Firm trophy hunters always pissed me off even at school. Best way to deal with them is to tell them as it is. 'Your not a football supporter, you're a trophy chasing glory hunter. There's no defence or counter to that as it's true. Wind and bluster every time and they slink off.
  11. McIver Holds the ball, wins first balls and disrupts the opposition defence and midfield because of it. His team contribution goes well beyond goals and creating them. Because of his presence, the oppositions style of play is degraded. Sure there are players who scored more and have more skill but as has been proved by McIvor there is more to that in a successful team.
  12. The Derby is back! and that is good for both clubs. Happy memories of the Par supporters trudging along to 'Castle Doom' and the inevitable.
  13. Would not write off Finn Yeats signing a contract, It is a temping pitch Falkirk can make. Breakthrough season Team on the up In the shop window in a higher league 2 seasons of first team football Certainty in your career Sky's the limit with another season's experience with Falkirk with higher level souters at the end off it.
  14. Not unreasonable to hope that a good % will become regulars, even a 10% uptake would be massive
  15. Then their pick should be respected. So it's unlikely they will pick token players
  16. Lot coming for the occasion. The club have potential new customers showing their faces at the premises for the first time let make them want to come back. Voucher game with maybe a discount at the shop, £* off a ticket for the first home game of the season. 10% returning would be a big win and a sound investment.
  17. Team of the Year Who actually makes the selection? Anybody know
  18. Error on font! Apologies did not notice till after I submitted. Goodness knows how I managed it - but I did
  19. SKY will be distinctly dischuffed at such a late call off. They will use this to screw the SFA when the contract is up for renewal.
  20. Right Back With Keelan Adams on a 2 year deal the management team will expect him to be challenging for that position. If we get Finn Yeats to sign a contract we will have for the first time for a while competition for the Right Back spot plus Yeats versatility for a midfield roll. Should we consider that position covered? With few players incoming it would be good to have a long standing position issue off the list. Thoughts?
  21. There will be a good many clubs in the league that will miss the Blue £ next season.
  22. Roy McGregor is very clever with the advertising hoardings, sponsorship, hospitality at the ground from his suppliers. Ross County charge top dollar with the companies have a nod and a wink from McGregor Supplies that their goodwill will not go unrecognised. Very like Brown at St Johnstone a fan who's a sound business person and puts the club first using his clout to do the best for team he supports. As you stated eggs in one basket and all to often ends badly.
