  1. That was our reserve team / under 19s Best of luck to Airdrie in the next round! Raging couldn’t make this one
  2. Bohs should win tonight however can guarantee you now that cup Q/F fixture won't go ahead that weekend so be no issues with Airdrie match however it won't be a full strength team, Ireland have an u21 match on the friday 6th so Bohs will have a postponement in the cup due to players missing for it.
  3. If Airdrie fans are expecting a load of hipsters to turn up from bohs according to victor they are gonna be seriously disappointed! The fans that will make the trip are anything but! I’d expect a couple of hundred to make the trip along with a good few from Glasgow’s good team!
  4. Can't say the same for Bohemians in Airdrie Tie of the round
  5. Great result for Linfield! Some money in the bank now! Qarabag should be too good though in the next round
  6. Why should they be beating them comfortably? what have Slovan done in recent years to warrant that tag regardless of the budget? Plenty of clubs in Europe with big budgets yet don't do it in Europe! Its actually a credit to Dundalk where people are a lil disappointed in the result. Nobody is faulting them I just think it was a poor result imo. We will see how the 2nd leg plays out
  7. this is a side that lost in the Champions League this year to a team Linfield have beaten 2-1 away from home in this same round Dundalk are in, I watched a bit of the game and Slovan were no great shakes, Dundalk are poor in the final 3rd and its been a factor in previous rounds, Qarabag aside (big team) the performances against Riga were poor, two Nil all results, Stephen Kenny taking the U21/Senior role is major factor in that. Poor result might have been a harsh assessment but they have been largely disappointing this year considering they are Irelands Poster Boy team, I do agree they still have a chance as they seem to play better on the Tallaght pitch than they do in their home ground but had Kenny been in charge I'd be more confident.
  8. Poor result for Dundalk tonight, 1 goal in 5 European games this season, Stephen Kenny big loss to them
  9. Good posts, just on this, The Bohs v Rovers fixture has grown over the last few years and oddly has a cult following with many Europeans coming over for it. Has been many heated affairs the last decade, Bohs traditionally have links with the CSC of Celtic and Frontline of Wrexham whereas Shamrock Rovers have Cliftonville, Bury and in recent years Hibs. On top of that you get pockets of Europeans mobs arriving over, its quite odd considering the Irish are generally known for their friendliness at internationals, a reason why Bohs and Rovers mobs ain't welcome or usually seen at international level. The Guards are generally known as the biggest mob in the country, you would be quicker getting the piss knocked out of ya at the games than arrested by them, another reason why the UK mobs come over, Ireland has no football laws and theres honestly no deterrent. The football in Ireland is not that great but the derby would be highly recommended.
  10. It is sad and the worst part about it these clowns don't see the irony sitting in a pub with a Liverpool or United top on celebrating every goal England concede in a tournament. Irish fans for the most part are cretins but its changing somewhat, the LOI does seem to be on the up, Bohs alone are selling out consistently and pulling in a lot of football tourists , the old Dalymount reminding many of what football was like before modern stadiums seems to have this positive effect. Standard wise it wouldnt be near SPL BUT Dundalk/Rovers could compete imo which always makes me wonder why Scottish clubs outside of Celtic and Rangers seem to struggle in Europe? Surely Kilmarnock are miles ahead of Welsh teams.
  11. Sutton United at home, could be a good one
  12. Dundalk and Cork are miles ahead of the rest in League of Ireland and would walk both the NI and Welsh league and would easily hold there own in SPL but would defo compete at the top in Scottish Championship! As you’ve kinda mentioned the LOI sent there 5th place team from last season and 9th place team cos both 6th and 7th were kicked out for financial FairPlay issues and 8th spot turned this tournament down cos they wanted no part in it! Looking at the Bohs squad against Peterhead we ain’t taking it seriously nor should we as we are reaching the end of the LOI season but I don’t feel LOI teams should be invited in next season as the respect for the tournament doesn’t seem to be there so surely Highland or Lowland league teams should there instead!! That said hoping for a trip to Edinburgh or Hampden next round!
  13. Wouldn't read too much into TNS been in the 3rd round of EL. They had the luxury of been seeded in the CL 1st round due to them winning their league every season and winning at least one tie in Europe cos they always started in a round earlier than Irish and Northern Irish teams, drawing Faroe or San Marino opposition. They lost in the first round to a Macedonian team and due to the new Champions path in the EL they fell back into the 2nd round where they were drawn against a Gibraltar team. They are a good team in a bad league, will prob do the best out of all the invited teams cos they will take it that lil bit more serious. Wankers though, we have unfinished Business with them.
  14. Part time, All our players work, nowhere near the team we were 10 years ago. Only player of note that some might recognize on the team is Shane Supple who was First choice keeper for keane at Ipswich until he became disillusioned with English football and gave it up! Not had European football for 6 years so our fans treating this as an excuse for a piss up with the draw away to Peterhead not putting them off, should still be decent number regardless of the effort! LOI is coming into the final third of the season and with the fixtures coming up doubt Bohs will go with a full strength squad so if a betting man back Peterhead. With St Pats rejecting the offer I’d say this will prob be last year Irish teams be in it whats the prize money for winning it??? Or getting to final? Not that our teams would get to it
