  1. Probably safe too say most grass parks will also be off this week given the weather so far and the weather to come which is rain and more rain tho sunny Saturday

We were off last Saturday along with most matches on grass.
It's way too early to say what the prospects are for this coming Saturday.
  2. Relived / happy

Looked relegation stick on"s at one point but Paul Kelly has came in and given us a fighting chance of staying in the championship this season and we are still in the Scottish and the west .

  3. Enjoyed today thought we won the match comfortably but that aside great wee bleather with the old boy who opened up the ground as the supporters bus arrived a bit early and a shout out for the steak pies absolutely beautiful .
Good luck for the rest of the season [emoji106]

Unlucky Duncan. Only one game short of redressing the balance of 6 defeats in a row.  To be fair i thought Arthurlie hung in well despite being down to 10 men for most of the game.  I felt the referee was a bit lenient with some of the Roch challenges.  Mushett deserved to walk all day long. He let his team down big time.  11 V 11 Arthurlie would have won that game.
Good luck to St.Rochs, a good vocal support and more importantly a decent bunch of guys.
  4. You scrapped by St Rochs 2-1 the last time we met and only a last minute wonder save from your keeper stopped us taking you to penalties [emoji85]

This is the third season you have talked up Darvel and again you are doing nothing.
You are scraping past the likes of St Rochs and Blantyre Vics with no disrespect to them. We are drawing with Championship clubs and beating Kilwinning 6-1. We are not even in the same stratosphere
  5. A trip to Dundee for the Candy
Don't know anything about Broughty other than they are second in their division and disposed of Cambuslang in the last round.

No doubt it will be a very tough match but you have got to be in it to win it so see how we fare on the day .

  6. Sorry I couldn't make it today due to work commitments as I was looking forward to a catch up with you lads.

Well done on a very good result and performance today I heard the candy were not at the races but while I hate getting beat the teams around us also lost so as we were and better teams than us will get taken apart by Darvel .

Good luck for the rest of the season guys [emoji106]

What a performance today , could and should have been 8 or 9 but not a failure in the side and that type of performance would blow any junior team away
  7. For us who need to book buses or potentially put in holidays from work it's better if we are given the draw as soon as possible but let's wait for replays to be played or given the recent weather not being played .

The draw for the next round is always about 10 days after the original date for the previous round. But there is usually a longer wait between the last round of the calendar year and the draw for the next round at the end of January.

For those who are used to still being in the cup at this stage it's nothing unusual. [emoji6]

  8. One final comment I get a bit of stick on here for backing Darvel but the reason is very simple

I met and was given the guilded tour by DL last season, he introduced me to a few faces and with a beer in hand we had a right good chat about football and remember we had a few ding dongs on here ourselves, once over candyman playing whiskey in the jar when we beat them 1-0 lol but despite what I had read on here and what some had said I met a guy who loved his club and was excited about what was planned for Darvel and despite us being rivals he still wanted to pass on advice, information and even help when I nipped his nut about a few things and on my encounters in junior football DL and the folk at Darvel are a rare breed and I have the utmost respect for them and if folk don't like it then tough .

Then when the lads came down the Roch earlier this season I met up and enjoyed a good old chat with ceejayar and co who despite signing more players than the all stars were very humble and far from being big time Charlie's they in fact had spoken at length on how tough the championship would be to get promoted from which is what you get when you meet good football people.

Am I jealous of Darvel ?

You better believe it I wish it was St Rochs buying the top players and building a cracking venue but I certainly don't begrudge them any success that comes there way as they have put a lot of time ,money and effort into making there club not just a good footballing side but also a place that can be the hub of the community and be something the town can be proud of so if folk want to give them stick for that then they need to give themselves a right good look in the mirror cos for junior fitba to survive that's what all our clubs need to be doing, that is being the hub of the community and being a club the local folk can be proud of
