  1. Why would you to be in the play offs if you don't want to go up.
  2. Agreed, but it would probably be EK.Just watched the highlights omg our defending looks even worse on tape,no excuses but I think Max was badly missed.
  3. No offence my friend but don't think you want to go anywhere near the Championship with that side, remember what happened to Brechin.
  4. Very poor from Stranraer especially first half, continuelly high balls to Innes Cameron up front all meat and drink to Dillon and co.The second half was a wee bit better when we brought on wide players Lamont and Victoria, but all in all not good enough.I think the defence showed an uneasy feeling at times playing in front of our reserve Keeper Avici, although the kid didn't too much wrong, any team would miss Max Currie in goals. The lack of squad depth is now showing a bit with only 4 players on the bench, one an Amateur GK and 4 first team squad members now out for the season, sums up our season really.I don't think Montrose had to be that good really, our first half performance wouldn't have troubled Linlinthgow Rose. One thing I have noticed about Montrose is that they are very good at game management or in old money time wasting. For a team who have just come up from League 2,Petrie has got them very street wise.I noticed at Stair pk when they got 2 up early doors they killed the game at every opportunity. On Saturday they got a throw in next to the half way line, btw it was a Stranraer throw in even the home fans were laughing at the decision.Anyway by the time Shaun Dillon picked up the ball, had pleasantries with the home bench, stole 20 yards,he was well past the Stranraer bench when he eventually took it,this all took 90 seconds, very frustrating to watch.I timed the final sub coming on,the player coming off shook hands with nearly everyone, had a wee clap to the crowd and was like Brian the snail, yep 1 minute 40 seconds, the Ref added on 2 minutes of stoppage time, with 6 subs and various other hold ups by the Gable endies, should have been at least 5 minutes,no wonder teams do it.Thank god that is now our last trip to Angus, blues fans from Stranraer have had this 400 odd mile round journey 9 times this season and if I see another poster with 'Its a fair old trek to Stranraer' I'll scream, you've done it twice, but going by visiting Angus fans to Stair pk not many have made the journey once never mind twice.
  5. Very little between the teams in 3 previous games this season and really can't see much difference tomorrow. This has been quite a challenging season for blues supporters, budget restraints etc but we're still right in the mix.Been said we are maybe better playing away from home, hopefully that will be the case on Saturday.
  6. VAR would have gave it,check out PSG v Man utd recently
  7. Highlighting the inept performance of McKendrick.Omg that miss by Victoria gets worse every time I see it,just go to the Keepers left hand side son
  8. Nobody is blaming McKendrick for the defeat but it's lack of consistency which sends fans mad.Last night Jamie Hamill stopped a Brechin attack with a cynical foul, booking no problem, further on in the half Brechin NUM 5 commits the same sort of foul on Kyle Turner, with Stranraer on the attack, result no booking,if refs get more consistent we wouldn't be talking about it on a consistent basis
  9. Surely that's our last time for McKendrick this season,5 times already
  10. A win last night and the pressure was off slightly,so a defeat was a bit of a damper.Nothing much to report from the first half apart from a really strong penalty claim after Kyle Turner went down after a shirt pull, but it was ref John McKendrick,no chance, but these things even themselves outAs 1870 said Jao Victoria just had to score when one on one with the Keeper, you just knew that would come back to haunt us.A copy cat of Saturdays game with Brechin hitting on the counter attack and the longer it went 0-0 you knew they would score.A missed header from a corner and Jackson scores, really sore one,the second goal came when Stranraer had committed about 8 men up front.Onto Montrose on Saturday, confident as ever.
  11. Quite a game for a Tuesday night,6 pointer for sure.A win for the blues and the finishing line is in site,a defeat and it's squeaky bum time again. The blues have been excellent in their last 2 with a settled line up and Innes Cameron up front has been outstanding.Saw us twice against Brechin this season and think we are better. That win for Brechin on Saturday gives them a boost, but can't help feeling we'll win hope so.
  12. Just looking at the Brechin fixtures they have left, very hard for them to stay off bottom spot.
  13. I can't remember everything you know I'm an old manbut have to disagree with you about Thomas, ran the show at Stair pk and the thought the rest looked okay, shame you'll lose him next season
  14. Dom Thomas makes the cliche 'one man doesn't make a team' look silly.Reminds me of the boy May on loan at Alloa several years ago and almost single handedly took them into the Championship.Dumbarton will be nowhere near Relegation, the other 5 will be close, although the worst 2 we have played are Brechin and Stenny so on that basis these are my selections
  15. Re Turner, watched by 2 Scottish Championship teams on Saturday,Queens weren't one of them
  16. Just thought I'd pop along and see the meltdown over here, not gloating here as a Stranraer supporter.I think Queens have probably the biggest 6 weeks in their history Watching your lot dismantling us roughly about 7 years ago didn't think we would see yous in 20 years again but things change quickly in fitba.Queens have 2 massive games in that time Falkirk at Palmerston and Alloa at the Idodrill.I think if you lose both, your in the seaside League next season and the ramifications that will bring.I watched Queens in July against us and I know it was nothing more than a glorified friendly, but I said to my mates at the time Queens will struggle this season and so it's proved. As a Stranraer supporter our crowds are pathetic, but noticed Queens could only muster just over a 1,000 on Saturday, didn't think I would ever see that day, that must be a big worry.Although my own team aren't safe yet,we are least picking up points here and there,Queens are in horrible run of form and I really fear for you boys it's not nice. One final thing didn't I read somewhere supporters wanted Naysmith on a long term deal, pretty unreal that.
