  1. Shoulda woulda coulda...bottom line is we've mostly been absolutely awful the entire season. We do now have a squad of players who are more than capable of beating any team in this league but as we have so often seen, their lack of urgency and fight is usually the defining factor when we drop points. No more hiding or finger pointing. Time to just get the job done.
  2. Are you the mystery benefactor? @Johnny Worm
  3. Maybe yellow is the mystery benefactor's favourite colour and was one of the stipulations for continuation of funds? That and Thomson remaining as Chairman of course. Let's not forget that belter...
  4. What is so difficult about a white home top and either red, black or combination of the two for the away? At least they got the home kit sorted for next year but they seem determined to eff up what should be a relatively simple operation. Keep the outlandish shit for the 3rd strip if/when there is one. I know there are more pressing matters at the moment like our league status and very existence but anything to distract us from that is vey much welcome at the moment!
  5. Are those the only two options? Both absolutely awful. The blue one looks like a goalkeeper top and the yellow...well, least said the better.
  6. The Allan Maitland effect in full swing - nice. I see we're also going to be invited to vote on the away strip soon. I think brown might be appropriate given it's the colour my underwear has almost turned on more Saturdays than I care to remember of late.
  7. I can just imagine McCall's pre-match team talk next Saturday... "Right lads, *yawn*, erm...who we playing again? Oh aye... that's right. Well, good luck, and mind we're running out of games so don't lose. Where are we in the league again?" Inspiring.
  8. I don't think he will get the blame which is partly why he seems so blasé about it all. In fairness, I don't think he is the main problem right now anyway. If our players are waiting for McCall to get them going that's on them as much as anyone else. Don't they have any professional integrity or just natural will to win? How did they become professional footballers in the first place to apparently just go through the motions when staring relegation in the face? It's frustrating and baffling in equal measure.
  9. I don't think he gives a damn whether we stay up or not. If we do go down, he can play the "sinking ship" card and say Duffy had already killed the club by the time he arrived. Everything about his demeanor suggests he thinks we should be grateful he's even bothering with us.
  10. The fact that we have beaten both teams before during this season, the 6-1 against Stenhousemuir...there are definitely a few actual footballers in the squad who are more than capable of winning these final two games. Will they turn up and prove it? Well, that remains to be seen...hence my "blind optimism".
  11. Nice to see McCall yawning away at the start of the post match interview. Maybe this relaxed attitude from the gaffer would explain why half our team seem half asleep during games. Also encouraging to see he might have actually finally looked at the league table although he thought there was a two point gap between us and Stranraer and had to be corrected. Encouraging signs!
  12. I agree that Stranraer are very unlikely to win both their remaining games. If we assume that to be the case then today wasn't a must win. In all honesty, of the three remaining fixtures I thought the Stenny game was the least likely of the three for us to pick up points. They're league winners for a reason. Probably just blind hope more than anything but I still believe this team are capable of winning the remaining two games which should be enough given our shared theory on Stranraer.
  13. Although we don't necessarily need to win next week if Stranraer get spanked I just can't see us getting anything out of the Elgin game so in that sense, yes...it's a must win for me. The first of the season!
  14. Right now? I haven't found much fun at the football for about 3 years and even then it was mostly fleeting. It's a minor miracle we have any fans left.
  15. We've played worse this season and won but that was far from a good performance. At least there was a wee bit of dig 2nd half and thank f*CK we didn't lose as that really would have been game over. I think we might still be ok but it's bloody horrible having to rely on Stranraer being slightly more shite than us.
  16. Which of the 10-15 wee boys in the away end were you? Congrats on winning the league etc. *yawn*
  17. So that's Scullion out for the rest of the season. Silly boy. *Edited to say* Sorry, misread - so he's out for the next two fixtures but will be back for the East Fife and Elgin game providing he doesn't misbehave again.
  18. How reliable is the WiFi in the bowling club? In case I decide to watch the game in there...
  19. You not heard of the cost of living crisis? Cava all the way.
  20. If AlLan Maitland manages to turn things around and in a few years we make it to the dizzying heights of the Scottish Premiership, can we expect to see you back at Clyde games?
  21. Can't speak for Dumbarton but as you know we haven't exactly had much to shout about on the footballing front this season. Can anyone blame us for being more interested in the boozers when it comes to a pre-match thread? My prediction is a 2-3 win for Clyde. Martin Rennie with one and a Jordan Allan brace.
  22. You're absolutely right there are more important issues at play here and I agree we need lots of changes for next season if we are to begin to recover and progress - no matter what league we end up playing in. Thankfully, Alan Maitland seems all too aware of this and has already promised on more than one occasion that the changes will be coming so I am not overly worried on that front. All of that doesn't change the fact that this Jimmy Choo character has been hounding Clyde supporters for most of the season and almost willing the team to lose every week just to prove his doom an' gloom predictions correct. It was nauseating to read and was the exact opposite of what was required at such a crucial time for the club when we really needed to galvanise the support and work together to secure the safety of the club. Am I gonna call him out now he's done a U-turn at the first concrete sign we may avoid 10th spot? You bet!
  23. So you are recognising there is now a chance we won't be relegated. There always was of course but you were adamant we were 100% going to get relegated - long after McCall had arrived and basically signed a new squad I might add. Wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't for the fact you jumped down the throat of everyone and anyone who dared to entertain the chance, albeit extremely remote, of us escaping relegation. I think you owe us all an apology.
