New episode of the podcast is up, chatting about Luke 'The Boot', the draw against Montrose, Quinn Coulson and finishing up with a preview of the Cove game.

Always happy to hear alternative opinions and can confirm I would not have gone on a rant!

For me, the diving is only really a small part of the frustration but I think it summarises the issue that I have in that he would rather go to ground than get a decent cross in or beat a man and have a shot. The point that Kevchenko made that when he is poor he's really poor is a good one, and is part of my thinking in that if you had a Sutherland or a Buchanan there instead they would at least offer some pace on the break even if it's not coming off for them individually. He was really good last year and I think we all expected him to push on which may have been halted due to a lack of games or a lack of confidence, but he's just not someone I look at on the team sheet who I would rely on to grab a goal, which I think Sutherland (particularly last few weeks) does.

I for one hope he scores every week from now until the end of the season and will be happy to eat humble pie on the way to the championship 😁

  2. Have to say my patience with Quinn Coulson is starting to wear thin. The constant diving, cutting back and back again and again, and the lack of end product mean we just look so much weaker on the left side for me when he’s starting. He isn’t even overly quick to help to stretch teams either.

Think our best option is still Sutherland on the wing and O’Donnell at left back, hope Andy plays that next week at Cove in what is the definition of the 6 pointer cliche.

  3. Think the greatest praise I can give Andy is that at times under our previous few managers the games had felt like a chore, whereas now it’s Sunday morning and I’m already looking forward to the next game. Even if we aren’t winning we are playing much better football and the players are clearly enjoying themselves as well. Long may it continue.

  4. Got mine on 10 despite it taking almost an hour with a different F+F being greyed out every time we tried for some reason, thank god it finally let us all have one and there was enough left!

  5. Thought we actually started the game well and if we score when Roberts hit the post just before the goal then it could’ve been a different game. Fair play to the Edinburgh boy it was a peach for the first and well taken for the second as much as it was far too easy from our point of view. Second half we huffed and puffed a bit too much and got a bit desperate rather than trying to be patient and wait for an opening.

We played a lot more on the deck today and we saw flashes of good play at times, albeit not enough. Roy seemed to really struggle on his own up there and nothing really came off for him, and Steven isn’t really a winger. Think 3-0 was a bit harsh but overall Edinburgh deserved it, they were a lot better than I expected, will be surprised if they finish 10th this season.

Tough game,  not the worst team in the league despite their position ,  i will take a scrappy one nil ...

    Rodden to score   @AlloaAdam

No doubt 😆 Scored in his last start and has been dropped for the last 3 games since then which tells the story of how bad he was that day. We're a better team if he's not in it but if he scores a hat-trick tomorrow I will happily take my medicine (until next week!).

  7. The constant asks for Rodden to start continue to baffle me, he's rubbish. It's almost as if people don't remember the performance's he put in to be dropped. Hopefully seeing as Andy has been here for a while he will know that Kevin Cawley is still quite clearly one of our best players and will know he should be playing in behind the striker. Playing Roy up front on his own with Steven and Cawley in behind would be my team (assuming Scougall won't make it).

  8. Think that’s me drifted over to getting rid of the manager. We were an utter shambles today and I don’t see any evidence from any of the games we’ve had this season that that is likely to change any time soon. His signings have basically all been failures and don’t suit the way he’s trying to play, we have no width, no creativity and no defensive shape. Think it’s going to be a long slog till Christmas because I don’t think we’ll get rid any time soon.

  9. Utterly embarrassing. Rice’s stubbornness to keep using a back 5 despite us having never played well with it in 2 years will inevitably (and thankfully) cost him his job. I’ve been on the side of giving him time but today was an utter shambles, was 3 going on 7 or 8 in the first half. Falkirk looked like they’d score from every corner and basically every time they went forward and you could count on one hand how many passes we completed in the first half.

Kevin Cawley not playing for us when we’re blatantly crying out for someone to link midfield and attack is ridiculous and the defenders he has signed are far too immobile and don’t win enough in the air.

Fair play to Falkirk, they’ve got plenty players who are too good for this level and will comfortably win the league this season. Annoying really because it’s been a good laugh having them down here😁

I don't like saying I told you so,but I told you so.Rice is an utter failure this season. We have to get rid,and put Andy Graham in charge. There a now rumours of unrest, players not happy with being played out of position, and poor gameplans.Might be complete rubbish, but it's obvious something's not right. If we stick with Rice league 2 football is inevitable.

Strange thing to say seeing as you’re on telling us so every time we lose. Clown.

Played pretty well today, we are miles better going forward when we’re keeping the ball on the deck and have to say Roy is making me eat my words, been very good for the first couple of games. Long may it continue.

We are still a shambles at the back and I’m still of the opinion that the back 5 formation should be binned. Don’t even think it’s down to the personnel (the majority of the time) as they are so exposed by the fact we have no midfield to cover them. Felt roberts and hetherington were both good today but there’s only so much 2 players can do when they’re up against 4.

Feel like a win might start a run as we’re not far away from being a decent side, would definitely be giving Rice another couple of games at the very minimum. Not that I think the board would be considering getting rid anyway.

  11. Don’t get where all the sympathy for Rodden comes from, looks totally out of his depth whenever he starts a game. Was very lucky to be given a new deal and should have been purely for 5 minutes off the bench at the end of games, nothing more.

Roy doesn’t inspire but Wales certainly sounds highly rated so fingers crossed he bangs them in. Interestingly, Wales is only on a deal until January so could be a heartbreaker if he does well for us.
