  1. I don’t think he was that far wrong with what he said as I’ve got Queen’s Park getting an easy 3 points against Arbroath already chalked up on the board. You could argue that he didn’t need to say it but on the other hand the reaction is exactly what he was after. If Arbroath go on to get a couple of results, especially against Queens Park, then he’s done exactly what he wanted to happen and if they lose all 3 games he’s been proven right.

He doesn’t really come out of this looking bad apart from the bit where it is everyone else’s fault that we are in this position.

The players you mentioned would make a huge difference to any championship club excluding us, as Ferguson would try and shoehorn them into right or left central midfield just like Shaw.

I am curious to see if DF is willing to adapt tactics next season. The overly defensive style is relatively understandable in a relegation scrap, but there’s surely no way it’s creative enough to raise the club anywhere near promotion.

We’ve been treated to Dan Mackay, Logan Chalmers, Shaw and Henderson - another season of Wallace Duffy wingback, no thanks.

If we had wingers at the club then I think he would use them. I mean he could have signed some in January I suppose.

You couldn’t blame him, could you? He’s better than what’s been starting in front of him. Lawal has been decent but he shouldn’t getting on the park before Roddy IMO

If he has been fit for the majority of the time since Ferguson came back I’m amazed he hasn’t been given a chance. Think he would be great playing in an attacking midfield position and something we are sorely lacking.

I don’t think it’s fair to say his transfers have been poor. Far too many loans yes, but none of them have been totally hopeless.

Sean McAllister - looked really promising until sadly injured.

Jeremiah Chilokoa-Mullen - same as above.

Remi Savage - granted he’s not been an improvement on what we had, however he is a good player.

Cammy Kerr - Fantastic. Sign him up.

Samson Lawal - looks a tidy wee player; made a positive impact.

Alex Samuel - been very good for the most part, if he could add goals to his game he’d be unbelievable.

James Carragher - same as Savage.

Aribim Pepple - probably the worst of the lot to be fair, although he’s not had much of a chance.

David Wotherspoon - we’d be relegated already without his contribution.

I don’t really disagree with what you say about the signings, maybe apart from Carragher, He’s fine but not good however the whole point of signing players is to make the team better. How many of them are better than what we had before? None of the centre backs are better, Mullen could well have been if he didn’t get injured and got settled in but we will never know. Midfield is arguably weaker, as we are now playing a right back in centre mid. Up front? Up for debate. Samuel is a good player for this level but I’d argue if we had managed to replace Wotherspoon we would be better off playing a “number 10” with McKay up top.

I would like to see what Ferguson could do in the summer where he can pretty much rip it up and start again but there would be doubts about his signing strategy based on what he did in January, mainly signing defenders when the major issues were further up the field.

You'll get months when he's fit then he'll pick up an injury where's he's on the sidelines for ages. He's already had his long term injury this campaign so you should be good till end of the season.

What pissed a lot of ICT fans off including myself is that we let him go on a free transfer to one of our relegation rivals when he was actually fit. He actually wanted to leave in all fairness he had his house up for sale & everything but he would've stayed till the Summer to help us avoid the drop but like Carson we forced them both out prematurely.

Lot of the games where we lost or threw away points by drawing we could've done with him in midfield getting a grip of the game. Fortunately for us we had his & Sheridans number on Saturday.

It's not over yet though I can see us losing to Morton on the final day thanks to a George Oakley goal & Queens beating Airdrie after a Welsh scremer sending ICT to the relegation play offs we'll have to see how it goes....

I was more pissed off that we didn’t replace him rather than actually letting him go.

Due to the financial issues at the club?

Not due to the finances of the club just due to the finances of the championship in general. I think he’s had quite a shock at the lack of money that is around at this level. Apparently he couldn’t believe there wasn’t enough money for us to stay over night before away games.

I get the feeling from his interviews that he isn’t enjoying the job at all and can’t wait for it to be over. I could be totally wrong.

  7. Agreed that 3 hours for 11 hours is ridiculous but I don’t mind the lads at the top of the leaderboard taking a little bit of extra time when it’s the final day of a major. Obviously as long as they aren’t taking the piss with it.

Faldo has a huge amount of insight about playing Augusta but sadly he’s an absolute arsehole.

I was just thinking this. I quite enjoy listening to him as he clearly knows his stuff when he is talking about the course etc but he’s the sort of bloke I’d despise if we were both in the pub having a pint at the same time.

I agree and whilst some have been shrilling and wanting him ejected, that was typically premature.

I've been endeavouring towards the objective with Duncan and I can accept that those brought up with the redolent cry of get it up the park might be fooled by the immediacy of that tactic but I rather think football has moved on and despite the frustration of this season, at least we have a philosophical sporting base to build upon.

Yet again the vocal and dreary doomsters are proved better at being performative than predicting and fifth is a finishing position that is eminently achievable.

I think some of the criticism on here has been fair tbh. The areas we brought players in in January were not what we really needed and I don’t think five at the back works at home. Some of the stuff on Twitter is ridiculous though. Some people have never taken to him and they will always be against him and will jump all over it if it goes wrong.

Ive always thought if he keeps us up he’s done well. I’ve had my doubts if that was going to happen and to be honest I still do but when it’s come down the the proper must win games he’s produced the results.

I don’t think the style of play he wants us to play is suited to this squad or a relegation battle but reckon if you gave him the summer to put his own squad together it would be quite successful. I dont believe he will be here next season whatever happens this season though.

Also why were the ICT fans (spotty no girlfienders the lot of them) back in the P section? Their behaviour last time, effing and jeffing at the schoolkids if you remember, was one of the key reasons away fans were moved across. I assume it was to save money, speaking of which at least a League 1 Season Ticket might be cheaper. They should be paying us to watch that tripe.
