Honestly, if you're building flats in Kirkcaldy, there's probably few areas as desirable as the land on Stark's Park. Firstly, you're going to piss off about 2000 people off the bat. Even if you're not bothered by that, then the area Stark's isn't going to offer great money. If you look on any property search, you'll see the flats on Pratt and Mill Street up at relatively cheap prices. Even if you're not buying for yourself, the buy to let market seems to be going down the shitter (which is fucking tremendous news but that's a side point).

There's enough building going on in Kirkcaldy as it is the land that Stark's Park is on is virtually worthless.

Let’s face it, we knew sim was going to sell at some point as he’s not exactly a young gun nowadays. But I wonder if him coming out publicly about wanting sell us a bit of a “f*** you” to the supporters. He’s never been the most popular of people with his outbursts in interviews and statements, even more so this year in January … So this makes me think he’s went ‘ah well, you don’t like me? Fine, take your club and shove it’. Toys out the pram vibes.

Anyway, I’m all for a new owner. I’d rather an investor than fan owned at this point in time. In the future maybe fan owned is the best but for now it will give us all something to look forward/worry/talk about.

Would folk be happy if he sold the club without telling anyone? If Newcastle fans don't care about journalists being dismembered then why should we worry about these guys.

In the end, the whole chatter about stadia and such comes down to what a member of our BoD has said (SP is in danger of failing safety standards if we don’t invest some money) and what our Owner has said (he’s not so interested in continuing to invest in the Club/Facility).

No matter what happens, the Club needs somewhere to play games, so we either fix up the dilapidated white elephant that is SP or we move elsewhere, and judging by what has been said recently, the time for that decision isn’t that far away. As there is no where in the immediate vicinity that would be suitable, a move to a nomadic existence for any period of time would likely cement us into part-time status and down a level or two as the attendance would likely wither.

I guess what that means is that making a silk purse is the best bet right now at SP, but the club needs someone(s) to come in and provide the necessary financial support. I simply also wondered if there is anywhere suitable for purpose to relocate to, and it seems clear there isn’t…

    No, you’re that annoying!

Surely the local sheriff's department has to look into your online activity?

You could have just edited your first reply. I wasn't buying one while my money was going towards funding a rapists wage. I guess I am a special kind of twat, that being the case...

I was merely showing that what you said was nonsense, as usual.

I'm actually surprised it's taken you this long to pop up again on this thread. If mcglynn was still here you'd normally be here every day telling us how terrible everything is.

I've been off this thread for a while. Simply because of the absolute nonsense as per usual on this thread. 🙄

    Seriously poor come back 😢

I recall seing it was lodged years ago but I think the company went out of business. No idea if it's happened again or if that actually happened in all honesty.

Iv missed 3 home games this season due to illness of me or my daughter.

I bought a season ticket to support the club two days before our first league game due to assurances I was given by someone that will remain nameless that dgw wouldn't be paid off from money coming from supporters. Iv also been putting in to the players fund since it was official he was off the books. So hush child.

Funnily enough I buy a season ticket to help the club I love not on the basis of some insider bullshit. You really do come across as a special kind of twat!

Are u wanting a hat or a badge? Your quite happy to have a go at other folk but then come out with more excuses than a torie.

Building a stadium there just wouldn't work regardless. That area of the town isn't easily accessible via train, bus etc for travelling fans, nor is it particularly attractive for home fans with the surrounding amenities.

It's all pie in the sky stuff regardless, unless one of the supposed interested parties are ridiculously wealthy and fancy losing millions. 🤞

So what are your suggestions then? Probably another one I won't turn up but expect money to just appear!

I've said for years that Starks was a huge financial noose around the clubs neck. It's a shite place to watch football and maintenance of the structures must be colossal (and only growing). The community set up seems to be doing well but Starks doesn't cater for it well at all.

The sooner the club looks to move to a smaller, more fit for purpose stadium the better. It would be great if somewhere within the town could be found but there is plenty space on the outskirts which could be developed. I often drive past the Nairns site on Victoria Road and wonder if there was enough space for a wee stadium opposite the car wash. Wherever it was built, a decent site with facilities and car parking could be in use 7 days a week and would surely be worth an investment on it's own.

Where would the club get money from to purchase land and build a new stadium? The land on which Starks park sits is pretty much worthless also a smaller stadium still needs upkeep.

Most grounds that were built by Barr have the same problems this is nothing new it's  OK for grounds like Ayr, Morton or Arbroath whose grounds are mostly decades old terracing to have cheaper upkeep.

What really gets me is those fans who threw the toys out of the pram after the Goodwillie situation screamed they wouldn't buy season tickets or pay into the players fund are now complaining we don't have enough money 🤔

The Goodwillie decision has to be part of the equation obviously in how he is assessed and with hindsight was probably for the best that he left after that error of judgement , but on balance I still hold him in high regard for his times at the club. His ultimate legacy is Rovers in the Championship and improving the infrastructure around the club both times. Some of the football in his second spell was breathtaking.

The financial hole and trashed reputation I would ultimately put more at the Board and Sim’s door. They were the ones who should have looked at the non-football and financial consequences of the signing. Instead of rubber stamping it.

Not based on anything other than a gut feel but I think the financial pressure is more to do with the fact that Sim has probably lost interest in Rovers and is now just looking to protect his investment or get what he can retrieve out of Stark’s Park. He is all about ego and last season I think he was seduced by the thought of being the big man who took us back to the top league which is why he ok’d the DG signing.  When that imploded and people didn’t see him as the messiah and now many actively hate what he stands for after that interview, he’s probably mentally and financially checked out. Just a guess, not based on any insider knowledge or anything.

You should be a spin doctor for the government!

Maybe I’m a bit old school, but much as I’ve always loved Raith Rovers’ stadium, I always rated them alongside Hamilton Accies as the most anti-football teams I’ve ever seen, so I don’t get this new Pep-espues poshness that they are somehow technically superior to Morton. Having said that, I like to see a variation in football between passing and being more direct. I really can’t remember Raith ever being the team with a style I would want to aspire to, so I just don’t get the tone from some Raith fans on here.

    Are you vikingTONs mum?

Jesuschristalmighty can we not drag all this tiresome "did you boycott Clyde as well?" shite up again?

He's away. Let people make their decisions. No-one's business but their own. Pipe doon.

If its no one else's business then why do they go on a forum spouting about it as if it's a badge of honour? Anyway I'm sure they'll get their reward when King Charlie's honours list is announced.
