  1. Yeah, I had convinced myself that McCall would have 10 bodies lined up to sign on Jan 1st.
  2. I do feel bad for the likes of Duncan, Malcolm, Mulvanny, McCulloch, Hendji etc and all the baffling signings. They just get absolutely shown up at this level. There’s no way they could possibly have shown enough in training/friendlies to justify a professional gig. You get the feeling these boys have just been thrown to the lions to prove some kind of point, whatever it may be.
  3. If you look at our games since since maybe Barry Ferguson was in charge, we’ve probably had someone playing out of position at full back in 90% of our games. Last season was one of my favourites - Lennon signed left backs Andy Rodden and Nathan Hendji in the summer. In the first game against QotS he started Hendji, hooked him after 10ish mins and brought on Paul Kennedy (a centre midfielder) to play at left back, leaving Rodden on the bench! He then signed a third left back in Jon Craig on loan but still continued with PK for many games. Brilliant.
  4. Yes. We NEED to stop trying to stick square pegs in round holes. It’s been one of our biggest issues this past decade. Especially at full back! Sticking a creative midfielder who wants to get on the ball and do stuff at full back or wing back isn’t going to coax performances out of him. If he isn’t playing in his actual position, he shouldn’t be shoehorned into the team.
  5. Not even 9 am and you’ve already posted the weirdest comment of the day, bravo!
  6. It’s the year of our lord 2024 and some folk still haven’t muted Jimmy Choo on here. Unbelievable.
  7. I think I speak for most of us when I say - we refuse
  8. I have everything crossed that Allan will be coming back to Clyde on loan. He still comes to games that don’t clash with Falkirk. I reckon McCall could convince him to do us a favour for the last few month of the season. However also, he could go to pretty much any club below Falkirk, so it’s a bit pie in the sky.
  9. You’d take Mitchell in a heartbeat wouldn’t you. He’d pretty much be the best goalkeeper in the league, so really if he were to leave Thistle on loan he could have the pick of most clubs above us - however as has been mentioned there is the McCall link. Stranger things have happened. Either way, I’m getting tetchy. Give us another signing, pronto.
  10. Great patter! It’s well worth giving up valuable seconds of your life on NYD to come and post snide on a team you don’t supports forum page. You’re a cool guy!
  11. Tell me you haven’t seen Alex King at Clyde without blah blah blah. It’s been a bad move for all parties. Not a slight on King at all, he seems a very good player on his day and by all accounts is a good lad. Imo he really needs to go to a Hamilton/Stenny type team where he can get on the ball and shine as opposed to literally Club 42 where he needs to dig in and every week is a slog.
  12. This was one of the biggest mismatches I’ve seen in terms of head-on opponents. I’ve seen Ross Lyon toil in a Clyde jersey more than most players but this was laughable. It says a lot about the previous regimes that he was made captain.
  13. Fair play to Stenny for winning that in terrible conditions. Not been impressed by them in either game against them so far though, very surprising that they’re skooshing the league in such a manner. I suppose the key fact is that Naysmith has the team organised in such a way that they can be unimpressive and still walk away with the points in the bag. Clyde’s squad is one of the worst assembled at this level. So unbalanced that we’re having to stick 5 foot nothing Kian Leslie against two of the most aerially dominant centre halves in the league. I cannot wait to get this squad jettisoned. Good to see the squad rounding on the little arsehole that got sent off. He must have had his Mrs leave him or something, bizarre level of head loss considering the situation.
  14. I think even Liam must have forgotten about him at this point tbh
  15. I think Leslie is probably a luxury we can’t afford. He’s shown very little end product but mostly that’s because we’re not capable of playing in a manner that suits him. I think he’d be very good at a team with less to worry about, similar to Alex King.
  16. Clyde have Lee Hamilton signed up, so that means we only need another 22 players of at least League 2 quality. In all seriousness, I’m serious. Expecting McCall to facilitate a lot of movement.
  17. Nice to see that this wee weapon has graduated to sexism. Just when you thought he couldn’t be any more of a VL! Shock!
  18. I’m standing in Dumbarton wishing the ref just changed his mind in 9 mins time and lets us get back up the road.
  19. To be honest, many of the players that come into the league from University teams do not too badly at all - Anton Dowds, Craig Brown, Blair Lyons, George Stanger, Danny Denholm etc - it’s just down to being able to pick out a player, something that those that were in charge of recruitment at Clyde are absolutely incapable of doing.
  20. Absolutely mad that a human can be this much of a VL
  21. I actually disagree. He’s not the type of player that can properly dig in, track back, tackle etc. I see him as more of a Dylan Easton type - get him on the ball in the final third and he’ll make things happen. Unfortunately we have no one that can facilitate that, so it’s bound to be really frustrating for the boy. Its possible to shine in a poor team where you fit into their system but we done have a clear system, so he’s playing out of position and being asked to do things that are outwith his remit in one of the poorest teams the SPFL has ever seen. It doesn’t really matter anyway, it’s not worked. I do hope he’s able to make a move that will benefit him though, he’s still very young so time is on his side.
  22. Coming down to Clyde was a terrible move for him. He shouldn’t have come here and McLean should have known he’s not what we needed. The pals act between Morton and McLean has done him dirty and I do feel for him. It was obviously expected that he would come down to this level and tear it up but he’s been caught in the negative vortex. He probably should have went to a team like Hamilton in League 1 or even Stenhousemuir in League 2 where he could get on the ball and shine a bit more. McLean actually moved him to left back at Bonnyrigg, clearly with the hope that he’d be able to pick bodies out from deep - but that sums up how unsuitable McLean was for the job.
  23. Do you like Jordan Allan over in the FK? Personally, I don't think Ryan Shanley is much of an upgrade on Jordan.
  24. Jordan Allan has continued attending Clyde games that don’t clash with Falkirk and sits with the current squad members in the stand - most recently the Jeanfield game. Making a move for him is a no brainer, although he could probably move to any club from Hamilton downwards. It’s win-win for him though because he will certainly do well, and even if we go down, he’ll get a gig in the league. He’s not having a great time at Falkirk, so hopefully the draw of something familiar will steer him to us. I also think we should be doing anything we can to sign Mark Stowe on loan from Arbroath. We’ve spoken about him on here before and I said myself he was beyond our scope, but I reckon McCall will be able to cajole him.
