  1. I don't feel you or any other Raith fan should feel guilty about attending tonight's game or any subsequent fixtures for that matter. It's a horrible situation you've been put in. On this situation - I thought long and hard about whether or not to attend Clyde games after DGW had signed. Ultimately, I cancelled my club ownership status but still attended games. At first, I tried not to celebrate his goals, but in the end I flew with the crows and celebrated them the same way I celebrated any other players goals. Because Clyde are a part time club with a lower public status than Raith, the furore wasn't as extreme, died away quickly and was reduced to the occasional group of fans shouting that he was a beast. On reflection, that obviously wasn't nearly enough. The dying off of the furore from Clyde fans has probably contributed to the old white men that run Raith thinking that the reaction would be minimal. Tl:dr, it's a toughie.
  2. He came on for us on Saturday and looked like he could barely move. I do however think his injury problems have been overstated because he doesn't want to pick up a knock ahead of a potential move. I attributed his lack of 'getting stuck in' on Saturday to 'wanting to stay out of it'. Chances are Clyde would have been reasonably happy with it given the value of a potential move.
  3. This was what I was thinking too. At least with the interest Falkirk showed, it made a shred of sense (from a footballing POV). He would get them out the league and save them from having to become part time and stuck in a cycle of hybrid employment and financial oblivion. He's been playing L1/L2 football for around 4 seasons now. There really is no metric with which this can be measured that makes any sense whatsoever.
  4. Is this the case? I remember when we signed him there was talk of a split, but ultimately when interviewed later players like Scott McLaughlin and Ewan McNeil said that he was (disappointingly, of course) roundly accepted. If there is a player revolt, extremely good on them.
  5. Maybe I'm being cynical, but I think one of the reasons he left Kelty was the fear of blowing it in League 2. If that happened, he'd never get another club in Scotland. There would literally be no one to blame but him because he has every resource he could possibly hope for. Kelty ultimately benefitted because I think Kevin Thompson seems like a genuinely great coach. With Alloa, there are myriad places to lay the blame for when it inevitably goes T over A - the rebuilding of the squad, the full time teams in the league, players attitudes, not getting backed etc etc - despite the fact the fault lays almost entirely with him.
  6. Falkirk fans must be the most relieved set of folk on the planet today. Arseholes surely twitching like rabbits noses.
  7. I’m not an owner anymore so I don’t know - but do club owners have access to information re: the transfer fee?
  8. I don’t actually agree that there are literally *no* positives. For so long, we’ve been a one man club, entirely reliant on performances from DGW. Even when we had decent players around him, it was always the Goodwillie show. Without him we had absolutely nothing. If anything, this forces development in his absence. Don’t get me wrong, it could swing either way and we could end up completely fucked, but we have to live without him someday, might as well be now. Also, it’s quite refreshing to not be the team that has an actual rapist on the books - not that it absolves us. He’s been a great servant to the club though, no doubt.
  9. We’re a bottom end League 1 club at the moment. Jamieson is a good player. Who exactly are you expecting as a replacement?
  10. That's interesting! Didn't even realise that was a rule. Good spot too, that passed me by. I never really think players playing two different positions works, especially in L1/2 when it's like a tennis match. Not that Jones would be able to knock anything down to Jamieson if they were close anyway.
  11. I thought Nick McAllister played really well on Saturday in the kind of sitter role. Ideally he plays at right back when everyone is fit. I was very confused (as usual) with our starting formation. It looked like a 4-1-3-2 but correct me if I'm wrong, which I almost certainly am: Parry Page Rumsby Elsdon Docherty McAllister Love Splaine Livingstone Jamieson Jones From where I was sitting the shape only really became clear briefly as a 4-2-3-1 when Nicoll and Goodwillie came on, but then became somewhat amorphous when Balatoni, Mortimer and Tade came on. Adam Livingstone seemed to be sitting far too deep to be playing left midfield/wing in front of Docherty. It's clearly working at the moment and is getting the best from a fairly limited group of players, so who cares really. Goodwillie looked extremely laboured when he came on too, and at times it felt like we were almost a man down because he was simply so far away from the play - clearly still carrying that injury, but I can see why Danny stuck him on. Ultimately, I think BF shot himself in the foot by taking of Cawley who was by far their most creative outlet. I'm happy with Jamieson and McAllister but we obviously need more through the door.
  12. Or maybe he was left out because he's signing for us today... (hopefully)
  13. Yeah, there’s always a bit of movement between the two clubs so if JMc is involved at EEP it makes sense. Kyle Turner, Gabby McGill, Kyle MacDonald etc etc
  14. Just reading this again, an absolutely mind boggling take
  15. You’re trying to speak sense to a man that a few minutes ago, said he would graciously accept the outcome of the case in a court of law if David Goodwillie had raped his own wife/daughter.
  16. I’m really not thinking you’re reading the (online) room re: who looks stupid.
  17. Good font control. This is actually beyond parody at this point.
  18. I think what's clear at this point is this laddie is a pellet.
  19. There are literally two Mark Lamonts. One that recently played for Clyde, and most recently was on loan at Broomhill from Alloa. The other has just been released by Dumbarton having also played with East Fife and Stranraer. The one that played for us had his moments but was really found wanting in L1 and it was clear he knew his level and couldn't be bothered as a result of things not going for him. I still think he'd do a job in L2, if he can be arsed. The other had a tremendous mane of hair, but he seemed to have got rid of that this season. Not sure that helps you re: footballing ability but I feel like it's relevant.
  20. This was interesting, although you obviously need to take squad numbers with a pinch of salt in L1 and L2. I seem to remember when Goodwillie came on against Cowdenbeath for his debut he was wearing number 3.
  21. You wonder sometimes why people think us Clyde fans are wankers and then you see some of us dishing out whatabootery re: rape. Absolutely disgusting. “Well actually I think you’ll find civil courts blah blah”. Genuinely read what you’re typing back to yourself out loud lads.
  22. This comment is absolutely astonishing and pathetic in equal measure.
