  1. Doherty is quite literally 0/3 of these things but go off king (I should add, maybe it's because we haven't been able to get him fully fit - I can only go on what I've seen since January)
  2. I feel like with this statement you've actually proven my point. There have been countless times where we've appeared strikerless when Doherty has been on the park. Never under the keeper, never aggressive in the box, never present in the 6-yard box when the ball is fizzed across. He's never where he needs to be. I understand Rennie has been disappointing, but in comparison Doherty has been a terrible replacement for Allan. I know you've attempted snide here, but the mere fact that Rennie was well placed to score is the exact reason he should be playing. I suppose the bottom line is Rennie has 4 goals and 2 assists in 12 games, including 2 in his last 2. Doherty has 1 goal and 3 assists in 15 and that 1 goal was almost 2 months ago.
  3. I do wonder how much of that is the Swift effect, as the rot only really began to stop after he was brought in.
  4. So he needs to be played up top to keep him in and around the penalty box. He's much more of a goal threat and generally just a much better player than Doherty. I swear, only a Clyde fan could want the player who literally scored 100% of our goals over both ties to get dropped for the next game. You must have seen the difference Rennie made when he came on. An absolutely unhinged take.
  5. Mullen Lyon McLean McGeever Sula Craig Cuddihy Roberts Salkeld Rennie Doherty I don't like it, but I'd probably do it seeing as we don't have either a real defensive midfielder or wide midfielders/attackers to go 442 or 433. That hasn't stopped Duffy from doing it however.
  6. The way the play offs are structured is an absolute shambles - three different formats between five divisions? Stupid. Obviously there are reasons for that which I won't rant about atm. I actually don't think 'no ET' is fair. Once you get to penalties it's an absolute lottery. The fairest way to decide a game is by playing an actual game of football. I understand we can't have multiple replays, but the idea of a game being decided on pens is 'fairer' just doesn't compute to me.
  7. Right but there's some kind of other factor at play here. The previous home game's attendances are listed as 1382 vs Dundee, 1623 vs Killie, 3490 vs Thistle etc. Looks like our ave. home gate for the season was about 1500. If your point here is 'We're actually getting MORE fans through the gates now', that's weird. If your point is 'There appears to have been something else happening on May 11th 1991 that meant that fans didn't attend that game, what an interesting anomaly' then fair play.
  8. Quite disappointing to see this. The season BF was putting together what looked like a steesher of a Clyde squad (the one where we ended up finishing 9th, yikes!), he signed Jordan Lowdon and he looked like an absolutely superb player for the first couple of games. He done his cruciate in the August, missed the whole season and doesn't seem to have been able to claw things back. A real shame.
  9. They certainly still have a few boys who played when we beat them in the play offs last time
  10. That's nice of you to say but having watched the majority of those games this season, many of the 1-goal losses were because the oppositions finishing was absolutely atrocious. For the most part, football-wise this has been one of my least enjoyable seasons as a Clyde fan. Saying that, we have looked marginally better over the past few games, so that's a positive. The last footballing action I seen at Bayview was Fraser McGhee missing the deciding penalty, so here's hoping for some better luck this evening.
  11. There is no sporting point, it's 100% financial. A competitive reserve league could easily be set up and trialled rather than shoehorning in a fifth tier to accommodate the B teams.
  12. Yeah of course, I'm just making an attempt at playing Devil's Advocate. It's basically going to be a trigger for PT clubs to have to use their budgets more wisely. That's the difference between PT and FT in this league and kind of highlights my point. Teams like Queens get the above, whereas in the past few seasons we've had the likes of Kyle Bradley and Zac Butterworth. The best we've had is §Scott Banks. Ewan Otoo was ok but even then he was so young and raw it was hard to get a read on him. For the most part, the've been a waste of time. For every Scott Banks we get, there's been about seven Cammy Palmers.
  13. I was speaking to my mate about this very thing the other day, and he made a reasonably decent point. If the bigger clubs in the pyramid have colts teams and as a result loan out less players, it does mean that more players are going to be employed by clubs. From a human point of view, it's probably better in that respect as it may result in more players being given contracts as opposed to potentially being out the game. There aren't too many loans from Rangers, Celtic, Hearts, Aberdeen etc that have made too much of a difference to the PT clubs in the division anyway as far as I'm aware (speaking mostly with my Clyde hat on).
  14. Morelos is so obviously a great player but his career has suffered by staying at Rangers for two seasons longer than he should have. He's gone stale along with the rest of the players they should have shipped out at the end of 20/21 and doesn't have the attitude required to force enthusiasm, but not many players do. Comparing him to Larsson though, you have to assume that's just fishing. No human being could actually think that, so fair fucks for getting in and trying to rustle a few jimmies. God knows your team aren't so you need to be entertained somehow.
  15. Yes, but the Fifers will simply pick the rat up and eat it raw.
  16. Out of interest - how do the Darvel finances work? At this point I've heard a million rumours, like some of the players being employed as staff at Black Rooster shops and being paid through there etc (I imagine that's bullshit) but I did think MK's business funded some of the signings. Was he involved financially at all? If he was, will that impact the club?
  17. Just looking at the complete base level, I'd say that in general Edinburgh have a much stronger squad than Clyde. You'd think that maybe not many of the players would be out of our reach financially - for instance you wouldn't think that the likes of James Craigen, Ouzy See or John Robertson would earn more than Morgaro Gomis, Martin Rennie or Paul Kennedy - but obviously geography comes into play and we're competing with more teams for local players.
  18. 0.000000% of people will be distinguishing between the club and the charitable foundation, especially given that the club will be playing in the stadium.
  19. 100%. I would absolutely love for us to move to Crownpoint. My family is from Bridgeton and after various years of being a nomad I've recently moved to Duke Street. The whole situation would be hideously convenient for me. However being realistic and without taking promises into account, would the decision maker really trust anything coming from the current board of Clyde FC compared to those involved at Finnart? Especially after looking at whats actually happened in the last decade or so? I severely doubt it. If we get it, it will be because we have the 'prestige' of being a league club. I want it to happen, I really do, but until I'm actually watching a Clyde game there I just cannot fathom it happening.
  20. Especially given most peoples recent exposure to the club was the protracted Goodwillie situation. "Please allow us to flourish in your community, just forget about the fact that less than 18 months ago we re-signed a rapist in the face of intense public scrutiny and our largest and most vocal fan group supported the move wholeheartedly. Don't worry about all that!"
  21. An absolutely unhinged shout. The ravings of a madman.
  22. Duthie looked very handy when he came on. Some nice wee flick ons, good touches and was unlucky not to score. Got to start for the remainder of the season imo.
  23. Obviously it’s all doom and gloom in here at the moment and rightly so… I do however just want to mention that it’s good to see Barry Cuddihy make his 200th appearance for us the other day. Pretty staggering stuff in this day and age. Good player and an even better laddie.
