    2. Previously when Hampden was unavailable due to the running track being added then removed for the Commonwealth Games, you had to play half a season each at Airdrie to keep the balance of games "fair".

That was the case when we moved back - Hampden was ready at the start of December 2014 but we had to wait until January 2015 to play there - but we moved out midway through the second quarter of the season in November 2013.

Oh, really? This is what I see under "Ground" on the page for the Hamilton game (for previous games the map shows Ochilview Park).

That arrow is in the car park.

A bit of a slope and floodlights in the middle of the pitch instead of the traditional side, but they will add a bit of jeopardy to cross field passes.

Although we could probably fit more spectators on the grassy bank than inside Lesser.

Is there anyone in the area who's been by the site and can give an update on how it looks, or some photos ideally?  The folk living in the tenements overlooking it must have a pretty good idea of how it's going!

It actually looks close to completion to my untrained eye.

The perimeter of the pitch has been tarcmacced, gates installed at the front of the east stand and a main gate to the left of the turnstiles.

Still see workmen at what looks like a refreshment kiosk next to the turnstile area most days. Cladding over the turnstile area looks really cheap and nasty as previously mentioned. Royal Box looks complete externally but no idea what's left to do inside it.

I know that the consensus on here is that nobody really knows what would happen with your stadium situation if you got promoted… But I went a walk earlier by Lesser for the first time in a while, and I can’t believe how small it’s going to be. I mean, I knew what the capacity is going to be, but it seems like a huge waste of time and money considering the ambition is to play in the Premiership eventually? I do love the fact that Lesser is being redeveloped and you’ll have a stadium fit for your home support, maybe the case you’d play elsewhere for games against Rangers and Celtic? I’m looking forward to our game in February, should be a tasty one!

Noticed a third floodlight pylon had been erected last week at the south west corner, a fourth is lying behind the goal at the north end of the ground.

Anyway, as enjoyable as recent performances and results have been, each win is magnifying the absolute mess Leanne Dempster and the committee have made of Lesser.

To put it into perspective, they have now taken longer to build a single tier 1,200 capacity stand than it took to build the 17,000 capacity two tier stand at the main stadium in the late nineties.

and the sacking of the original contractors for, presumably, not doing what they were meant to do to a particular standard, have both increased the headache.

If the original contractors were sacked for a shortfall in standards then why did the adjudication find in their favour at a very large cost to the club? That suggests that there was nothing wrong with their work.

The fact they were sacked within days of Leanne Dempster coming in also suggests the problems started with her arrival and there is no sign of them ending.

There appears to be about one-third of the west side that is still free for development. Another 500 if terraced, surely? Also I don't think it would restrict the Royal view in any way.

Except the club have put a massive water tank half way along that part of the ground,  effectively blocking any chance of putting seats there.

If they had put any thought into it they could have it buried under the pitch like we did at the main stadium in 1999, leaving space for a small stand.

    Full season at Stenny incoming

In eight weeks time the building trade shuts down for the Christmas & New Year fortnight- by the time they start back we will have played the first home game of the second half of the season (Thistle on the 3rd January)..

After that point there is next to no chance the SPFL will allow us to change home grounds, sporting integrity and all that jazz.

There's no way Lesser is going to be finished in those eight weeks.

Wonder how long it will take for our beloved leaders to come clean that we're at Stenny until May?
