  1. Yeah, when my mate text me to say he had a table, I hummed and hawed, and considered being "fashionably" late for our meeting...... Owner was a good laugh ("can I get wi-fi password?".... "if the games goes down I will blame you and put your whatsapp messages on the big screen"). After game jump on a tram near by and head to Wezze Krafta, best bar in the whole city!!!!!
  2. My understanding is Duffy's is the spawn of what was the Irish Embassy Pub (same owner) after it closed down/changed owners. Not one for Irish pubs (I was with a Polish friend who watches all of Arsenals matches in there) but surprisingly not bad, and shockingly cheap!
  3. Duffy's Irish Bar in the Kazmierz district will show it for you no problem (I was in watching Liverpool v Arsenal a few weeks back)
  4. Firstly, Kemal Karic might result in a few "who?...." comments, but his backstory is really heart breaking, and the legacy that he has set has seen the Tartan Army Sunshine make 73 consecutive donations and hand over £100,000 to help children right across the World everywhere the Scotland national team has played. Back in 1999 for the Bosnia v Scotland Euro 2000 Qualifier, a group of Scotland fans over in Sarajevo heard the story of a young boy called Kemal Karic, known as Kemo, whose mother was killed by artillery in Sarajevo, as she ran carrying 3 month old Kemal. Kemal`s leg was blown off just above the knee. Fundraising by the Tartan Army for a prosthetic leg for a Kemal inspired the creation of the longstanding Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal. Greater detail on this story can be viewed on the Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal website. You can read about it here >>> http://tartanarmysunshineappeal.moonfruit.com/about/4590985125 Aged 15, Kemal , finally visited Scotland to be mascot at the Scotland v Italy Euro 2008 qualifier match at Hampden in 2007. Details here >>> https://www.scotsman.com/news-2-15012/tartan-army-s-teenage-braveheart-fulfils-a-dream-to-lead-out-team-1-699998 Sadly the Sunshine Appeal has learnt this weekend that Kemo has been seriously ill with secondary cancer in his lungs. If anyone would like to send him their good wishes, cards etc we are happy to forward his address if you pm us.
  5. Thank you to those who've already bought their tickets for the event, meaning with these sales and those who've inquired about taking tables, the interest is very high indeed! Tickets can be bought from the link above (£35/pp) or if you're interested in taking a table (or two!), please email us and we'll reply with the details to get a table of 10 for £300, i.e £30/pp [email protected] To clarify a few points: Yes it is a Burns Night, in terms of traditional 3 course meal (incd Haggis mmmm), with words of the Bard and poetry (with a Scottish Football flavor) live music from the Ceilidh Band but we're not an official event and we won't take up too much of the night with formalities and its similar for the dress code - its your night out, you decide!
  6. The Tartan Army Sunshine appeal are delighted to announce details of our 2020 Burns Supper. 7. Thanks to everyone who showed up on Saturday night, the event added just over £700 to help fund future donations 👍 Thought night was great, and Colin was on great form (Craig Brown and Stuart McCall stories from Euro 96 are probably the funniest thing I ever heard 😂 and Craig Brown at h/t of the Norway match at WC98 was superb!). Photos from the night are here to see, https://www.flickr.com/photos/steviedoogan/sets/72157709632990392/

  9. Thank you to all those who have purchased tickets. VIP tickets all sold out, but still standard entry tickets available. Standard ticket - £20 http://tartanarmysunshineappeal.moonfruit.com/shop/4590985127/evening-with-colin-hendry-(standard)-ticket---tartan-army-sunshine-appeal/11247682 Shaping up to be a good night, with plenty of prizes to be won, including Steven Naismith's signed match worn Scotland shirt from the Portugal friendly last year (kindly donated to the Sunshine Appeal by Steven himself). Having just completed our 73rd consecutive donation at the Belgium match, followed a week later with our 74th at the Woman's World Cup in Paris, its nights like these which help us keep going forward, with all money from the night will be going directly to all future donations (with Russia and Cyprus to be announced over the summer). On the day after the game in Belgium, we received this Facebook Message from Sun, which we have been given permission to share publicly. We think it nails both why the Sunshine Appeal does what it does and just as importantly, the impact donations make not just on the day but well beyond it. Sun A few years ago, when our son was still, like all the time, in the hospital, uz brussel, for his cancer treatment you guys came by. Also loaded with tickets for the game, gifts and smiles and sunshine. He and his little friend Yannis, also cancer, have such fond memories of the moments you gave them. And now you were in our hospital yet again showing your good hearts and wonderful natures, making really sick kids happy. So we want to thank you for being who you are and spreading joy and happy memories. Sadly our sons friend Yannis past away last week, but the good and happy memories stay with us. And a few of those memories you guys created. So thank you from the bottom of all of our hearts for everything 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 ❤️
  10. Not at liberty to say. Night is a fundraiser, and this year we have 3 donations with the men's team and one at the Women World Cup (plus 2 last month), so that is 6 donations this year alone, and nights like this one (and given the sales so far, we are certainly considering others across the country with other former Scotland players) allow us to continue what we do at every game
  11. Thank you to all those who have purchased tickets, last night we sold out the VIP: Meet and Greet Tickets. Standard tickets are selling nicely and its shaping up to be a great night with lots of stories of the Euro 96 and World Cup 1998 campaigns as told by Colin. There will also be lots of great prizes up for grabs on the night to be won
