  1. No they don't. Complete made up nonsense forum for this pish. I can see why Celtic and Rangers having traditional 'ends' of the stadium would annoy some people even if it is irrelevant on the basis of neutrality but the dressing rooms claim is absolute shite, they are decided on who comes out the hat first or, in the case of the final I believe its a coin toss.
  2. Aye let's play a match that would be a sell out of circa 52,000 in a stadium that holds about 15k. Totally sensible and well thought out idea.... Scotland must genuinely be the only country in the football world that has scores of people who actively want to stop people attending matches, having thousands of empty seats at matches to satisfy keyboard warriors who don't want visiting fans in them is one thing but this fucking crackpot suggestion is the daddy of insecure pettiness........fucking hell Can you imagine Liverpool v Arsenal in the FA cup final being played at Molinuex in front of 40k instead of 95k at Wembley because Arsenal are from London where the national stadium is? Obviously that wouldn't happen because the English aren't as fucking embarrassing as some people up here, they have their faults and their football is a bit money orientated and tourist league but they would rightly cringe at some of the pish like this.
  3. The club to have some sort of loyalty points scheme, Big Rab who had two season tickets, spent around £200 a year on merchandise and subscribes to the club TV channel gets a minute applause. Wee Boab who was a season ticket holder till he fell seriously ill two years ago can get fucked
  4. I'd absolutely observe a minutes applause during a match for a supporter if it was comforting for their family, a decent thing to do. Obviously football clubs will have a minutes applause or silence for ex players or, on the odd occasion a high profile player or manager in that country, Craig Brown being a prime example, I'd obviously support and observe things like that. Moving on you have tragedies that affect clubs/communities such as Hillsborough, Ibrox disaster, anniversaries of things like this you'd have to be an absolute cretin to disrupt. That's where it should end, political and religious figures, heads of state including Pope's, Prime Ministers and Royal Family have zero connections to clubs and football and by nature can be divisive and the cause of conflict between people so that can get in the bin for me. I'd also add remembrance Sunday at the football, I'll always observe it and wouldn't disrupt it but again, war or quite specifically the British military somewhat questionable recent history of conflict and conduct has more than a degree of ambiguity about its morals and merit, I personally feel the ramping up of it all, the poppy w**k fest and the almost insistence on people displaying poppies, almost in a garish fashion is an attempt to curry favour for the military and in particular the reprehensible foreign policies of successive UK governments, I feel very strongly about this having no place at football, as I said I'd never disrupt it but remembrance Sunday should be a solemn mark of respect and one of choice, not some garish jingoistic display of loyalty to Britain and its military at football stadiums.
  5. I recall reading an interview with one of the players from the Scotland side of that era, prior to Italia 90 Costa Rica played a friendly against Wales and their keeper was at fault for a goal after flapping at a cross or something. Tactical genius Roxburgh decided our main tactic in the opening match in Genoa against them would be to batter endless crosses in, utilising the 'talents' of that useless fucking carthorse Alan McInally, oh and the keeper naturally had a field day dealing with our innovative pan as we made a complete arse of ourselves against the supposed group minnows. I remember to this day launching my Italia 90 cube alarm clock off my bedroom wall at full time, resulting in me being late for school on several occasions
  6. Did Cowan not have a meltdown about someone on here calling out his pish 'yer da' type misogynistic outdated attention seeking humour and post details about said poster all over his Instagram in a lame, cringeworthy retort? I actually followed his IG around then for no other reason than Isa style nosiness and it generally consists of pictures of him going for a curry with Chic Young, Jonathan Watson and the likes with pish Sidney Devine or Englebert Humperdink songs playing over the selection of 'lads night out' pictures. Absolute puddle drinking moron who no doubt thinks the likes of Bernard Manning and Jim Davidson are genuine comic geniuses unfairly maligned by the woke Brigade.
  7. For obvious reasons I'm not repeating the rumours about Richard Gough that have been kicking about for three decades now that seemingly were *allegedly the reasons for the premature end to his international career but I'm sure everyone on here has heard them at some point. One would like to think they are bullshit slanderous nonsense but many others are vociferous about them being true, chances are we will never know but, if so you can understand why Craig Brown vowed to keep it to himself.
  8. Serves them right the Welsh for not bringing Aaron Ramsay on to take a penalty.
  9. Alan Rough got the lucky draw in this strip launch for Scotland before the 1982 World Cup. Not a chance this kind of thing would be even considered today, sadly using attractive girls in kit launches or at the beginning of Grand Prix's and at the stage walk in the darts is deemed offensive.... it all started with Soccer AM binning the 'Soccerette" in my opinion.
  10. Another testimonial, from 1980 and no introduction needed for these three legends before Danny's match against Liverpool.
  11. John Wark was a player I thought was criminally underrated in the 1980's, as someone with a soft spot for Liverpool I was a big fan of his, scored 24 goals from midfield in 84/85 not a single penalty. Another highly successful Scottish International from that era who never played a game for a senior Scottish side along with the likes of Alan Brazil, the Nottingham forest version of John Robertson, Peter Lorimer, Frank Gray and a few others I cant instantly recall at this minute.
  12. Martin Buchan testimonial between Manchester United and Aberdeen in 1983 as Sir Fergie of Govan and Ron the racist lead out their respective sides with the trophies from the previous seasons, Aberdeen's Scottish and ECW cups and Utd's FA cup.
  13. A wintry Ibrox seeing the Copland Road stand being constructed, picture from 1980 I believe.
  14. John Brown in his pre 'Bomber' days when he was actually a goalscoring midfielder for Dundee before going to Ibrox a few years later, seeing out the second half of his career booting opponents and screaming thinly veiled sectarian insults at youth team members and Italian team mates. A 2-2 draw at Dens Park against Aberdeen from March 1986. Jim Duffy and Vince Mennie join in the celebrations, the 'Derry' in the background is virtually identical and unchanged to this day, much like the main stand.
  15. Celtic's two Polish signings from 1989, the two 'Dariusz'... Dzeikanowski will probably be best remembered for his four goal salvo against Partisan Belgrade that year when in typical Celtic style we still managed to make a c**t of it and go out of Europe despite scoring five at home that night, other than that he flattered to deceive despite his obvious talent and left a couple of years later with an appalling miss against the Paris Buns in the dying moments of the 1990 League cup final, which we lost in extra time being the final straw for Billy McNeil who punted him to Bristol City just afterwards, allegedly pumped Hazel Irvine and Shereen Nanjiani so did at least do a bit of damage in his time in Glasgow. 'Shuggie' Wdowczyk actually stayed for four years, a rocket of a shot with his left peg and a decent ball playing defender who could play full back or centre half but a bit injury prone and zero pace, I seem to recall Mark Hateley ragdolling him on more than one occasion, missed his penalty against Aberdeen in the 1990 Scottish Cup final shoot out which is almost forgotten since everyone remembers Anton Rogan's miss primarily, a decent player but, like many of that era not up to it compared to the players on the other side of the city.
  16. An Edinburgh Derby from March 1988 with a couple of guys who would be Celtic team mates within a couple of years.
  17. Stefano Schwarz and Gheorgi Hagi wearing two superb change kits in the 1994 World Cup quarter finals in the Yooessay..... Bizarrely I remember watching this in the 'Caley Bar' in Tenerife and having a bet of a packet of cigarettes when it went to penalties, with Jock the DJ, I took Romania and he wisely took Sweden...
  18. Yeah I love getting up at 6.00 on a Sunday morning to get my supporters bus up to Aberdeen or Inverness Whether it's 1500 or 15,000 it shouldn't matter, it's pretty w**k expecting people to travel at that time of the morning especially on a Sunday for a lunchtime kick off, it doesn't make it okay if it's only for a visiting support for a league match.
  19. 1990 World Cup finalists being led out by their respective legendary captains.
  20. Pretty much like we get every time at Pittodrie. No matter what kick off time Aberdeen get in semi finals the whinging b*****ds complain about it, you had a 5.00 kick off on a Sunday at Hampden against the **** about five years ago and the fans were complaining it was unfair on people with kids who had school in the morning and might not get home till 10 or 11 o'clock.
  21. The last page or so on this thread completely confirming this
  22. I know, no need to tell me something I don't know mind you
  23. My local team are Stirling Albion and I have a season ticket for them which I use when Celtic aren't playing so that's a failure as well.
