  1. Re: some of the recent posts, maybe the club could get some sort of legends match organised to raise funds? Perhaps an 80s team v 90s team or 90s v 2000s? A tenner a skull to get in, the cash going to a good cause. I am sure that some of our past favourites would give of their time gladly to help the club. I am also certain that a lot of fans would turn up to watch one of these. It would be great to see the likes of Crunchie, Russell, Gunner, Big Crawf, Super Sam or God back in the Navy Blue! Edited for an afterthought.
  2. Here's a book that I suggest that you buy, you supercilious w*nker.
  3. I'll give you that we shouldn't be paying for a new training facility. Signing Watson and Griffiths was done for all the right reasons, it just didn't work out. Signing all the players that we have this season might just get us out of this hellhole of a league. I'd pleased that they have taken the gambles that they have in the hope of us getting promoted, rather than accepting our fate is to be in league 1 in perpetuity.
  4. Don't talk shite. The Board operate a tight ship and are careful with the money. They'll get: Fuxxake, where are all the new players that we need?!! Where’s the ambition?!! The Board give the manager a decent budget in the hope of getting promoted. They get: Imprudent management!! Why are you squandering the money?!! They're between a rock and a hard place. OK, what do you suggest that they do?
  5. Whit?! An extra couple of weeks of pressure on my old ticker and at the end of the play-offs we still might not get promoted?! Stuff that fur a game o sojyirs! No, for as long as we are in this league we have to adopt the same attitude as the Bigot Brothers and their fans- 2nd place is nowhere, 2nd place is failure. Get this f*cking league won!
  6. Signing up to the FSS is the sort of thing that people always genuinely intend to do but they never get a round to it. Something else happens in their life and it's forgotten about. I'm convinced that if FSS people are standing at the turnstiles, either outside or inside the ground with application forms in their hands, they would see a massive uptick in membership.
  7. Or, ask everybody, ST or PATG, to make a donation of say £5.00 or whatever else they can afford when they go through the turnstile.
  8. A shocking case of plagiarism. You'll be hearing from my lawyers. P.S. I hope you get 15 points this week.
  9. Dunfermline 2 - Peterhead 0 Falkirk 2 - Clyde 0 Kelty 1 - Airdrie 1 Montrose 2 - Edinburgh 1 Queens 2 - Alloa 2
  10. Can either of you name names? Not being snide, just genuinely interested. I won't know them but I just about know how to use Google.
  11. Just checked my inbox and I am in receipt of this email. However, how many fans actually get these emails? What percentage of our fans receive them? An honest question as I don't know. I'm just thinking but by the tone of the email things are extremely serious. Maybe the uptake in FSS membership is low because not enough fans are actually aware as to how bad things are? That being the case, and again I am writing through ignorance here, would a flyer being handed out to every home fan at the game on Saturday when the board will have a captive audience of some 4,000 fans not be a worthwhile idea and an opportunity to get their message across? (I suggest that they edit the original email mind). It might lead to more fans, who can afford it, signing up.
  12. Yes, these are really good. When I watched the latest one for the Thistle game, at the 2.00 minute mark as the teams are lining up to go out on to the pitch I honestly thought that Tony Weston was the PT mascot! I checked on wiki and it says that he is 5' 7" but he looks tiny.
  13. The last 2 seasons are in the past. New management team, basically a whole new team of signings, McGlynn getting more out of the likes of Nesbitt and McKay etc. than I ever thought possible. Winning the title and getting us out of this league has to be the target, a play-off place guarantees us f*ck all.
  14. Yes, this for sure. It’s just that I think both Burrell and Lawal are destined to play at a far higher level than the 3rd tier of Scottish football and if Lawal isn’t getting sufficient game time here he might feel unappreciated and undervalued by us and will up sticks and head off elsewhere at the first opportunity. Remember, we’re not talking about a couple of young Scottish laddies who might be more inclined to bide their time to get some games, a la Carroll and Kennedy, this is 2 young guys who have taken the gamble of moving from Ireland and England to play more football and possibly put themselves in the shop window, they won’t get that sitting on the bench. More to your your point about having players waiting in the wings, yes, it has been a looooong time since we have had players coming off the bench who actually strengthen the team instead of weakening it.
  15. Just watched the highlights of our game against PT. Can we please, please get Rumarn Burrell signed on a new 10 year contract? What a find he is, getting better with every game. I don't want to see him going for nowt or peanuts at the end of the season. Would also love to see Ola Lawal getting more game time, hopefully he gets a full 90 minutes under his belt in the bounce game on Tuesday and comes into contention for the starting line-up against Clyde. FYI @latapythelegend Sky Sports had the crowd as 2,720.
  16. Careful. https://www.nbcnews.com/health/body-odd/remember-vuvuzelas-what-your-opinion-them-reveals-about-you-flna1b8305701
  17. This absolutely. I think a communal crowd w**k is called for.
  18. And now for something completely different. I posted over on the Pars v Falkirk thread that “Scottish football needs a strong Falkirk and Dunfermline”, half tongue in cheek but half serious. It got me thinking about which 12 teams in Scottish football would make up the “perfect” Scottish Premier League in terms of crowds, TV broadcaster interest and derby excitement? In no particular order I came up with the 4 following blocs: Falkirk, Dunfermline and Raith Rovers Sevco, Celtic, Partick Thistle and St Mirren Hearts and Hibs Dundee, Dundee United and Aberdeen Many of the above would also have “crossover” interest, e.g. Falkirk vs Hearts, Hibs vs Dunfermline, Raith Rovers vs Dundee etc. There wouldn’t be a week goes by without some sort of derby on the fixture card. Motherwell would lose out because I don’t think that their games against Hamilton and Airdrie would nowadays generate enough crowds and interest. Similarly, we have “lost” the St Mirren / Morten derby and the Ayrshire derby. Also, I have omitted St Johnstone because they just don’t have big enough crowds. (if they were in the 3rd tier like we are at the moment I don’t think they would get more than 1,000). Ross County and Inverness CT also lose out because they are too isolated. Discuss
  19. Polite way of saying that he is a greedy c*nt. A few posters over on the Falkirk thread have posted in the past that they think that McGlynn can coach his bad decision making out of him but I don't think that is the case. He gets the ball, gets his head down and either runs or hits it. He never looks up to pick out a player in a better position. He's playing in the 3rd tier for a reason. Burrell on the other hand is always looking to find his man with a pass. We've got a real find there.
  20. Get a hard earned point in a difficult encounter away from home to the league leaders and drop a place to sixth. Fitba's magic, eh? Expect the Unexpected. #COYB
  21. Scottish football needs a strong Falkirk and Dunfermline.
