  1. A professional Bankies performance under the lights at Claggan Park. Surely Golspie away in the next round.
  2. Like most, yes. It still wasn't good enough on the day.
  3. Clydebank didn't just say no to that and had no intention of playing it at Holm Park as it was now unavailable. We would have had first dibs had we been drawn at home. As I've said elsewhere, I am reliably informed that Fort William stated they didn't want the Sunday as the Old Firm game would hit the gate and the park would be a mess after the event. To then suggest the Saturday night then seemed daft as surely the park would be in a mess from the event anyway? Only after announcing Golspie was it put out that the event didn't actually use the playing surface and I guess this is why it's been changed back again. It's crazy that after all the years of bullshit from Fort William that all of a sudden people believe they are telling the truth on all matters.
  4. Now playing at Fort William on the Saturday night. The offers Fort are saying they made are nonsense...and their latest statement backs that up as they go totally against what they said regarding one of those offers.
  5. They have priority because we were drawn away from home on that date and rhey were drawn at home. I’m reliably informed that Fort said the pitch would be a state on the Sunday because of the run thing and that a game in Glasgow could also have an impact on the crowd.
  6. I agree with some of what you say however FW were fully aware that they could be drawn at home and should have been communicating potential contingency plans in advance of the draw, not sending a Facebook message after it.
  7. It should have been for the SFA to sort out. I can understand fans feeling that their interest in all of this has been overlooked and the extra travelling and cost given not a consideration. The time it's taken to sort out hasn't helped either - Golspie has been rumoured for over two weeks, why wait until yesterday? Fort have buried their heads in the sand for weeks then move the tie miles away. They may not have many fans to consider but I think we would have taken 250 up there on a Saturday afternoon. Be lucky if 100 travel to Golspie. I guess it is what it is and we'll have to play the tie up there.
  8. Cheers. Not sure anyone wants to play on a Saturday night anyway and not get home until after midnight. So now we're playing it at Golspie and not getting home until after midnight.
  9. I assume that is the parkland within the perimeter of the ground?
  10. The hosts are entitled to 20% of the initial takings, they are then entitled to a 50% split of what is left. Those splits will be far less given the additional distance now involved and the issues of getting to and from by public transport. There are no train connections from Clydebank on the day that will get you there for the second half kicking off never mind the first half and can only get back as far as Queen Street on the return. FW are the hosts, it is their home game. It should not be confused with the splits for a neutral ground. Holm Park was not available - Yoker are at home in the Junior Cup. Had we been drawn at home, then our tie would have taken precedence over that. Had we drawn Golspie away in their own right then that would have to be sucked up and got on with, but we weren't.
  11. I do think it’s a bit much to move a tie 120 miles further north and expect the opposition to just suck it up but if it has to be Golspie then I’m sure we’ll get on with it.
  12. It's got nothing to do with Clydebank agreeing. The only offer I've heard rejected was to play it on alternative weekend. That's not to say there hasn't been others but FW have been rather silent on it all by all accounts. Clydebank will be there. It's upto Fort William to find a solution.
  13. I believe it is on the site of the old Yoker Sports Centre pitch on Speirshall Terrace...or Langholm Street to the older generation. Not 100% on that. Not sure why it was felt a good idea to admit them this season with this clearly an ongoing ground issue that will obviously be sorted by May and next season.
  14. Nice to see The Bankies have extended the accessible enclosure at Holm Park. Another small step, but an important one.
  15. An absolute shambles today, the scoreline makes it look much closer than it really was. Benburb had everything we didn’t and it’s a major worry. Thankfully working for the next two weeks if that’s what we’re serving up.
  16. There's no real reason for these not to be released, with affected teams having to move their fixture if required with plenty notice. It happens with cup ties and everyone gets on with it.
  17. One of those daft things you don't forget. Think half of them had retired while Butcher had come out of retirement to turn out for Bankies by this point. I'm not convinced by the date to be honest.
  18. I'm sure I read that Bobby Russell & Gordon Smith played for Rangers reserves against Clydebank in the mid 90s due to player shortages - it could well be true. EDIT: Have had a wee google search on it and it appears to have been 11th May 1995 Rangers lined up with Neil Inglis, Eric McAleer, Ally Dawson, Davie Dodds, Terry Butcher, Bobby Russell, Gordon Smith, Martin Campbell, John McDonald, Ross Milligan, Marc Nicoll. Subs Ewan Chester and Peter Macdonald.
  19. Decent player, lots of pace. Lacks a final product at times but as has been said, missed a big chunk of the season and found it hard to get back in. Will do well elsewhere in my wee opinion.
  20. Yep, this great for football in the area. Was good to see a couple of the 18s in yesterday's squad as well as the recent burst of boys from the 20s - the young lad that played at left back had a terrific game. The pathway is beginning to come to fruition from lower down so a massive well done to all the coaches all the way down. There was a smashing turnout at the youngsters training session at lunchtime too going by twitter.
  21. Decent season over the piece though losing a third of our home matches and only one draw picked up in the thirty league matches maybe shows just where we are at with a two seasons in a row at fourth place and adding in a cup final this time round. Gordon Moffat will know exactly what he needs to bring in and delighted to see the boy from Meadow in already. Be interesting to see who is retained in the coming week or so. Saw the boy being escorted out of the ground yesterday, thought those dealing with it did so very well considering they are volunteers and he was now of a threatening nature. His mood changed drastically between kick off and the start of the second half, clearly had been out early watching another match somewhere.
  22. There was hardly a complaint at the penalty award, because it was a stonewall penalty. Stafford got away with one and then takes the piss by scoring Fucking football, eh!
