  1. I don’t know the budget, no. I am fairly confident though. Gate money means not a jot (seriously, add it up and work out the outgoings for both clubs) and our catchment is more of a killer because more folk lean towards the old firm. Beith have some great sponsors and the adverts all around the ground back that up - which is fantastic. I wish we had as many but I believe we are actually restricted because of the ownership model of Holm Park who also need to bring in funding as well as Yoker. I have no ill feeling towars Beith. It’s a great place to go and very welcoming and appears to be very well run. I would have loved to have seen them take part and win the playoff but that’s been done to death.
  2. Can you back that £500 a week up? Is everyone at Beith for the love of the game? If you can raise then you can spend it, applies to all clubs. Others (and I’m not suggesting Beith so don’t take it that way) will risk the future of their club by spending what they don’t have, it will not happen at Clydebank because it can’t. For anyone to suggest there is any sort of financial suicide being commited at Clydebank is ridiculous and as said before - the figures were there for all us owners to see in September.
  3. You can’t be reading much on here then. You can pay more for 18 players than 24 players. Nobody comes to Clydebank for the money. Of that 24, 3 have been out on loan all season, 2 have just returned from 2/3 months away. There’s the first part of your savings right there. Our board are very prudent when it comes to budgeting and spending. It’s hilarious they’re now being taken to task on this on here of all places. It’s £10 a year to join, sign up and see for yourself exactly what comes in and goes out.
  4. Must be true then. Our club has 700 owners that look at the figures every year. There no recipes for disaster at Clydebank.
  5. It’s been the chat going back to the formation of the WoS.
  6. There can be no argument of that. It’s not a good look for the league when the playoff isn’t used though.
  7. Compare the budgets for the last 16 years and I think you’ll see it’s heavily weighted in Beith’s favour. The weekly wage bill at Beith will be much higher than the weekly wage bill at Clydebank. Gordon Moffat has played a blinder by saving money over the year that has allowed him to strengthen now.
  8. The WOS should have laid a time period for Premier clubs to become license compliant and avoid having lost playoff places. Clearly, Beith have had other issues with the ground ownership etc and it’s pleasing that it seems to be getting somewhere now though the license process being closed or paused is obviously another stumbling block that they could have done without. There are earlier posters (possibly another thread) suggesting that Beith wouldn’t want to go up which doesn’t really make any sense. I don’t understand why any club would have moved from West Juniors to WoS if they had no ambition to move up from tier 6.
  9. Again, nobody claims any different. Our club is very much alive though.
  10. Points on board maybe but still feel it’s Beith’s to lose. We won’t be counting our rhubarb anytime soon.
  11. Thought he was fantastic in the cup tie at Holm Park earlier in the season too.
  12. A hard fought win down at Glenafton this afternoon. Some abysmal refereeing once again though.
  13. While all the players had started walking away for nothing….
  14. I can’t speak for Bill or anyone else for that matter but our figures are posted at our AGM every year for all to see. We vote our ‘leaders’ in. We are all the same at this club. Given that Bill is one of those ‘leaders’ then I’d be fairly certain that he knows exatly what we spend and where it comes from. I’d suggest you don’t have a clue what goes on at your own club never mind ours with that kind of statement.
  15. Signing a player is hardly throwing everything at it. It sounds like we rub you up the wrong way and I absolutely love that. I think we’ve paid three transfer fees in about five years if not more so you’re comment on level of spending is crazy talk. Carry on hating.
  16. Two similar sides, in brutal conditions. Some smashing pens and someone had to lose.
