36 years, how much longer?
Forever_blueco replied to Willie adie's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Being called a glory hunter people are aware of what the bulk of the last ten years of following Rangers looked like aren’t they Anyway can quite happily say I have probably been in more Scottish stadiums the last ten years than many in the forum will manage in their lifetime . Have been there for Brechin , getting beat of manager-less Stirling , chucking two goal leads to Alloa etc all the way to being in the stadium again for a European final. It’s been horrific , fantastic , soul destroying and everything good and bad in between. But it has never been boring and mundane. -

We were mocked for “over celebrating” a last minute winner against thistle a few years ago that meant absolutely nothing in context of league positions considering we finished about 30 odd points behind Celtic and around 9 behind Aberdeen with a few games to go- 800 replies

Well that is a title race summed up do you think if Liverpool score a last minute winner at Brighton they are celebrating because they have managed to get a scalp against Brighton Albion or because they have managed to keep within distance of City ?- 800 replies

RCFC v Celtic - 06/08/22
Forever_blueco replied to Matty-RCFC's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
You have brought up a random as f**k story in what seems like a reason to include Smith in this song . That’s how it comes across . Wether that’s how you intended it to or not I’m not so sure. it’s also a bizzare story as we all know football dressing rooms and society as a whole where a completely different place back in the 80’s and earlier particularly in male dominated workplaces and environments of the time I.E military , police , building sites etc which football most definitely fell under. So true or not , this sort of attitude and similar practices were probably present in dressing rooms all over the country -

It’s not really like we have a subscription to the blog generally any article on it I have read has came from an online source or a group chat with someone advising something along the lines of “have a read of this guff” -

Well yes if something seems to be Rangers related I am quite interested to give it a read . In the cases of that blog it usually ends up being hilarious into the bargain -

Celtic (1994) v The Famous Aberdeen
Forever_blueco replied to Frank Grimes's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Was lulling in the second half not one of the issues that many were discussing last season regarding Celtic. I think at this stage it seems to be just an effect of their style of play and set up . Domestically and unfortunately from my point of view it seems to work though as 9 times out of 10 they manage to get the job done before that lull kicks on are at least have the game in a manageable position -

The YNWA would have been a pain in the arse for Aberdeen Jim Goodwin standing in the dugout with his scarf in the air was a bit much. Can see why they are aggrieved to be honest -

I can kind of get what MT is trying to say and why he would feel that way but in my experience titles are pretty distinguishable my earliest actual memories of Rangers winning titles and knowing kind of what was going on was probably 8 and 9 in a row . Both pretty memorable and distinguishable in their own way . the Advocatt years well one was clinched at parkhead so that is pretty stand out . Mcleish’s two last day triumphs particularly 2005 couldn’t be any more stand out if it tried . The three under smith and particularly the 7 minutes at rugby park may be the best “scenes” I have actually personally experienced in a stand until last seasons Europa league semi / aribo’s goal in Seville . Gerrard’s title memorable for reasons well documented so no they really don’t all blur into one celebration . They all have their own unique memories -

In the same school of cringe as these bbc Scotland “comedy” actors with their middle class accents who throw in the most forced and unnatural “pure dead brilliant” or “pure radge by the way” into one of their sketches -

Didn’t lawell or someone on the Celtic board state that Celtic should be aiming to qualify for the the champions league on average 3 out of every 5 seasons either around deila’s appointment or a season or two before it ? -

Sergeant I don’t want to have to add you to the long list of folk owing Rangers FC a forthcoming and quite frankly well deserved apology but if I have to I will sandwich you in-between Graeme Spiers and Tommy Sheridan on the list -
