  1. Sorry thought this was the soap dodgers forum [emoji90]
  2. Some good ideas there. To make a good, competitive league the one think you need is revenue sharing. Along with copying ideas from the American sports such as NFL, NBA etc the SFL (forget the spl, spfl rubbish) could be so much better.
  3. Pretty sure when the new tv deal starts in a few years a new league format will be put to the vote. From what I hear it will be a 12-12-18 league with top 2 league's splitting into 8-8-8. Also summer football will be voted on. BT will have exclusive rights to the top 24 teams fixtures showing games mainly on fri/sat/Sun nights(745pm ko). Odd lunchtime ko for high risk games like old firm. Club's will be put under extra pressure to vote this through as BT will offer the biggest ever t.v. deal for scottish football. (Around 30 million a season)
  4. Being number 1 doesn't really matter now. It was nice to get there but when he looks back at his career when he is retired, he and everybody else, will be counting how many grand slam tournaments he's won.
  5. Think it works better in America because they have different divisions. We could do - Western Division/EasternDivision Rangers Hearts Celtic Hibs Motherwell Aberdeen St Mirren Dundee utd Morton Dundee Airdrie St Johnstone Hamilton Dunfermline Kilmarnock Raith Rovers Qos Inverness Ayr utd Ross County Hamilton Falkirk Dumbarton Livingston Teams in same league play each other twice, rival league once. Total 34 games. Playoffs top 6 from each league for title.
  6. Clyde superscoreboard is decent
  7. The problem with the falkirk stadium is they build the 3 stands too big instead of 4 smaller stands. A 4th terraced stand would be a good addition though.
  8. Difference between safe terracing and normal terracing is that if Falkirk were to qualify for Europe only seats are allowed for these fixtures. Therefore if it was safe standing the terracing can be converted into seats and used. If it was normal terracing that stand would have to stay closed. Smaller Scottish teams are probably better just with normal terracing.
  9. Would falkirk fans want the new stand to have safe terracing?
  10. Doncaster and his cronies report their progress back to all the club's so info gets out. Not saying it's all 100% accurate. If the deal was 31 million per season the club chairmen would do anything to get their hands on that cash as it would be more than double what they get just now.
  11. A new league format would be attractive to BT who are really going to promote scottish football big time, possibly even having an spfl dedicated channel. Tv money is the holly grail for club chairman and supporters are secondary so what BT wants BT gets. Deal being put together just now hoping sky push the bidding price up and also gives plenty of time to vote in any new changes to league structure.
  12. BT and SPFL want to launch this tv deal with a new league format similar to what they did with the league cup this season. Changes are definitely on the cards.

    The Walking Dead

Good point. Still think the zombies could have a bigger impact on the programme. It is science fiction so maybe a super breed of zombie could appear in future seasons.

    The Walking Dead

Totally agree. In season one the zombies actually ran and chased people now they just stagger about. Pathetic. Need some real zombies like the sprinting ones in 28 days later.
  15. The costs involved in building a new national stadium means it will never happen unless the government or lottery subsidise it heavily. Only other way it could happen is a combined Rangers/ Celtic or SFA / SRU stadium. SFA building a new stadium for half a dozen Scotland games and 6 cup finals / semi finals a year, which wouldn't all be sellouts, is not likely or affordable. If it was ever built would almost certainly need to built in Glasgow or Edinburgh. Probably the best option is to strike a deal with SRU to use Murrayfield for say 4 big Scotland matches a year and the Scottish / League cup finals. All semi finals and smaller Scotland games could be played at various other football stadiums.
  16. It's not quite as bad if they actually go the games. Hate old firm fans that slag their local team but only time they ever go to Glasgow is to do a bit of Xmas shopping.
  17. Also they had a 14 team old first division late 80s/early 90s playing each other 3 times. Was great don't know why they changed it?
  18. We need to try and get away or limit the playing each other 4 times in the league. Fans are fed up with it. Others say they don't want big league's (18 or 20 teams) as there will be too many meaningless games. Compromise 14-14-14 play each 3 times!
  19. The most realistic option is bt sport buying the rights. Don't think the deal will be worth much more than the current deal though.
  20. I never said they did? We have a good product and with english football being expensive to show on UK TV networks scottish football is a relatively cheap alternative that could be a success for them.
  21. What we need is a tv network really getting behind scottish football. I think bt sport could potentially do that. Still think a freeview channel could take a punt on scottish football (ITV, channel 5 etc) as there is a big market out there that enjoy live football but aren't prepared to pay for it.
  22. Was having a think about a Pay per view channel. If you could have an average 75,000 people watching each round of fixtures worldwide that would generate 28.5m obviously still needing to exclude production costs. Think these viewing figures would be easily achievable. Not sure how having every game live on ppv would impact on crowds though?
  23. Can't see that ever happening. Wwe prides itself on its pg / family audience and icw prides itself on its 18 / adult audience.
  24. Maybe the way to go is to set up a ppv channel or spfl subscription channel. Not calcuted if this would create more income though. We keep comparing our tv deal with England but they are getting silly money.
