  1. I haven’t passed comment on the team so far as I haven’t seen them play since Colin took charge, however I’d assume most of the folk that have saw them play are thinking the same as the above. I could have understood the decision to bullet bomber if they had a league one / championship manager lined up to replace him but to release the statement they did then replace him with an inexperienced manager, this looks like it may backfire on the club. Only positive at the minute is that Dumbarton and Brechin keep getting beaten just now as well. Has the team been playing any differently to when Ferguson was in charge? Hopefully they can get a few bodies in in January and climb the table.
  2. Lol. You really should have a picture of yourself crying to go with this.
  3. Sorry I’ve obviously picked him up wrong. Positive he said it was his second stint at dumbarton.
  4. Would tend to agree with this. Who is out of work that would be realistically interested? Paul Hartleys reputation has severely nose dived, would he drop down to league 1, would we want him? Stevie aitken? I work with a dumbarton season ticket holder and he’s told me his second spell in charge was brutal. Neil McCann? Lol. Who do the board think they can attract to this position, they must have been speaking to someone as surely you wouldn’t get rid of a manager without having somebody lined up. Has there been any rumblings from in the club about who it might be?
  5. Still think this is a rash decision. I haven’t been to many games this year due to work but even when I have been I’ve never heard any fans calling for his head nor for me had there been any signs that his job was ever in danger. Just my opinion though. Also, not really wanting to defend the club here but it can’t have been an easy decision for them either given the association that bomber has with the club. Like others have said league 1 is so tight that a few back to back wins and your right up the table.
  6. I’m no sure if cesc could handle two hours with a semi clad lunatic talking about jet packs, his granny (RIP) and the Jon Bon jovies. Teckle.
  7. Be interesting to see how the team shapes up in pre season league cup games. Hopefully everyone gels relatively quickly and we can put a good early season run together. Summers is good enough for full time football in my opinion but agree with what has been previously said about him just needing to get his head down and get a good run without injuries interrupting his season. Another season with us wouldn't do him any harm, I think he could do a decent job as a wing back in league 2 if we go ahead with the 3-5-2 formation. does anyone know much about the young lad that came in from the forth valley academy? If the manager rates him at such a young age it'll be interesting to see how he gets on. Any news on where Kerr has went?
  8. Good signing although I'm sure big Jim will drain the talent from him.
  9. Just saw that goodwillie has signed with Clyde. That's a good signing and if he can keep his head down and concentrate on his football he could easily be the best striker in the league. Always thought he looked a cracking player when he was younger it's a shame that trouble always seems to follow him around and his lifestyle choices haven't led to him fufilling the massive potential he had when he was at Dundee utd.
  10. Hope summers stays. Good attacking outlet and he can defend as well. He could play at a higher level than league one or two in my opinion but as FF mentions above he really needs to have a solid season and get back to the form he showed a few years ago. Hopefully it's with us.
  11. Maybe need to have a wee listen to the interview. Hopefully he finds somewhere but he's still a young man and playing regularly with us might not be the worst option for him if he fails to find something.
  12. Where's Willis off to, any ideas? Has he just left and is hoping to find a club?
  13. Alan cook. Good player. Can blow a bit hot and cold imo but he was playing most of last season carrying a knee injury and was probably still one of our better players. That being said, when's he's on fire I doubt there are many better left sided players in league 1. Get him fully fit and if he can add that wee bit of consistency into his game then you could have a cracking signing. Him and your left back could form quite a formidable partnership next season. Sorry to see him go and hope he does the business for you. I'll be keeping a wee eye out for your results to see how he's doing. All the best.
  14. Good player. Can blow a bit hot and cold imo but he was playing most of last season carrying a knee injury and was probably still one of our better players. That being said, when's he's on fire I doubt there are many better left sided players in league 1. Sorry to see him go and hope he does the business for you.
  15. Was used more often than not as a sub. Didn't do too much to be honest whenever I saw him, maybe a loan move to this league and against the type of centre halfs he was up against might have came a bit too early for him. Our kick and rush tactics probably didn't help him mind you but IMO for the chances he had in some games he should probably have scored a good few more. As FF mentions Oli Shaw done well and I wouldn't mind seeing him back next year if we could get him.
  16. Can't disagree with any of the above really. I only saw Hamilton play in one home game and thought there was potential there but I do remember reading about what I think may have been his debut where he had an absolute shocker. Im assuming gilhaneys retirement is injury related? Could potentially explain why he looked so unfit over the last few games. I don't imagine McCormack will have much difficulty finding a club. he'll be remembered for his goal in the play offs last year. That's probably the nicest thing I can say. Hopefully they continue to keep getting their business done early.
  17. aye, it'd be good to hear something soon. i'd like to hope we can retain the majority of the team as i think if as much of the current squad as possible can be kept then they could do a good job in league 2. it's easier said than done when your getting pressed quickly and the game is being played at 100mph but when we get the ball on the deck, we have some good footballers and there were moments last season when we played and didn't knock the ball long at every opportunity and we looked decent. i wouldn't be surprised if the better players in the team had offers already but hopefully not and they slip under the radar. Have you not heard anything FF? no tasty little rumours that you can share with forum?
  18. i enjoyed listening to Colin talk. it was interesting to listen to him briefly touch on the fact that he's not particularly good technically but works his arse off and i think that's what enamours him to the fans, that and his goals of course. i imagine he probably had a bit more in his locker than hard work when he was in his prime. i first became aware of Colin in the (spoof) real Leigh Griffiths blog that was written by a Dundee supporter years ago. Dundee Barry i think the guys name was, pretty sure it got made into a book too. In defence of the young lad, he never really got a chance as at the start of the season there weren't many of the players looked good enough for league 1. I'm not saying he would have done a job if he was playing but without an extended run, as a fan, you never know. Obviously the management team saw him in training as well and are better placed to make a decision than us.
