  1. He is unpopular with Kilmarnock fans too. He sent off three Killie players in a match against Aberdeen. An historical precedent was three Killie players getting sent off against Ayr and his Dad was one of them.
  2. 1-1 versus Blyth. 3-2 win versus Darlington. Blyth then beat Darlington 4-1 to win the Absolute Print and Design trophy.
  3. It was 3-2. Our scorers were Paul Sheerin, Gary Teale and John Bradford. The crowd, if you could call it that, was 182.
  4. I am glad to shake hands on that deal.
  5. The photo was from Cowdenbeath 2 Ayr United 0 on 3rd September, 1949 (League Cup). I borrowed it from John Christie and got it copied. He is the goalkeeper in the photo. The stamp on the back was West Fife Press. Here is another from that game.
  6. I can. We have totalled three wins over these clubs this season including a 5-0 hammering of Queen's Park.
  7. If Cove did make precautionary measures the club should make a statement to confirm what those measures were. In truth they bottled it. Nothing was done at all. If an unsuccessful effort had been made then no more could have been asked. You will not find one Cove fan who was remotely bothered by the postponement. They are probably hoping for another cold snap to prevent Friday's match going ahead. Volunteers to clear the pitch? Where were they? Pitch covers? Where were they? I would have no gripes about the postponement if an effort had been made.
  8. There are no drains beneath the pitch. The top soil is comprised of a combination of sand, peat, fertiliser and lime. There is also a slight crown. Extremely unlikely to get waterlogged.
  9. I am terrible at forecasting and can usually be relied on to get it wrong. I am going for a home win.
  10. Probably Wikipedia. I wouldn't even trust Wikipedia if it said today was Monday.
  11. The date of the 9-0 defeat against Third Lanark is wrong. It was 4th December, 1954.
  12. They are where they are thanks to a premature celebration at Palmerston.
  13. Although he was our top scorer last season he scored the princely sum of 11 in the league. His average time at one club is roughly five minutes.
  14. £2.50. Features will be in the 'something for everybody' category.
