Would’ve been fairly easy for Amartey to take the huff given he wasn’t playing. Seems to have a real desire to play for us and his comments on Brown are pretty positive.
It's reassuring too that he is not suffering from the traditional homesickness that seems to afflict players from south of Sanquhar.

Despite the score there's some really talented youngsters to be developed in the coming years.
Why did we field a youth team in a reserve fixture?

Was chatting to some Ayr lads a couple of weeks ago and they were talking about their chances of the play offs. I didn’t realise it was the relegation play offs!
in other news Killie (smaller town), are the fourth best team in Scotland. Forever in our shadow.Thank you for your interest in Ayr United Football Club and congratulations on your top fan status.

Did Kevin Twaddle actually play for Ayr?
Only for 57 minutes in a 0-0 draw at home to Ross County. After going back to his parent club Motherwell he went to Hearts.

That sounds utterly horrific, hopefully not!
I feel like I’m being incredibly harsh on the young guys, but I really don’t see much in Tomlinson. He can run in a straight line if there is space in front of him, but anything outwith that is pretty horrendous.
I didn’t see the Airdrie game though, so I don’t know if he offered a little more going forward there.
At Airdrie he was exceptional going forward.

Felt a bit for Sanders last night. He looked devastated at the own goal and still looked a bit down even at Full-time.
I don't think he's great but I do think he's a decent enough defender at this level if he's surrounded by other competent defenders.
That tackle in stoppage time at Airdrie was nothing short of superb.

I’ve seen comments about McLean on here but I didn’t think it was that bad.
Its been said before but we also feel like he gives us nothing too.
I wouldn't say he gives you nothing. He gave you three red cards in a game.

Couldn't agree more with this statement.
My boy and I were talking about this the other day, he asked 'How many Ayr United players are actually from Ayr?'
This season we have used 34 players in first team action and half aren't even from Scotland. Not that I'm complaining though. Based on countries of birth the breakdown is: Scotland 17, England 13, Albania 1, Belgium 1, Congo 1 and Jamaica 1.

Well there's no chance of this being goalless. Expect Vaughn will get at least one and fancy Chalmers to score too.
The chances of it being goalless are precisely one in ten. Raith Rovers have played eighty league fixtures at Ayr and eight have ended 0-0.

Are you talking about the game in the 2007/08 season were Peterhead had two late penalties?
The referee that day was Chris Boyle. He gave two ludicrous penalties just before the end and Eddie Forrest got sent off for complaining about the second one. I swear I have never been angrier at a match. The same Chris Boyle once gave Stewart Kean a second yellow card against Brechin City. His misdemeanour was going for the same ball as Craig Nelson. Kean then got a third yellow card because, on the way off, he lifted up his shirt to cover his face.

Can you give me an inventory of the major trophies I would see if I visit Rugby Park?

It was a long time ago where did he cime from then Clydebank or some shite like that?Ayr acadamy used to procuce players that is all I'm saying abd Conway played for Scotland surely they need to get back producing quality players like him again? And give them a platform to get in the team early?
The platform already exists. This season alone six players from the Academy have made first team appearances.

My take on scott Brown
And forgive me cos ive not been to games in recent years so my opinion is probably invalid or even pish
I think Scott Brown is a massive risk to his own reputation or to the security in the championship for the club
I genuinely fear the standard of player he can attract if its Fleetwood players on loan cos it will be ex Waterford players who are absolutely shite and played in same standard as WOSPL
If it isn't is it gonna be the auld firm B root option outwith a few notable sucsess stories that usually doesn't work
In my time watching Ayr they pulled in better loan players from Hearts so lets hope maybe Whittaker has good contacts in Edinburgh
I did watch young Finlay Gray against Rangers in midfield thought he looked really good and might step up full time
Anyway nothing against Brown as a person or nothing and hope the appointment works out well
Cos fear if Ayr go down he will be looking for a job for a very long time
Was a Scotland player who quite admired shame he can't still pull the boots on
Ayr need to attract better players what happened to youth system your Teale and Conway coming through?
Suggesting that Gary Teale came through the Ayr United system totally endorses the point that you know nothing whatsoever about Ayr United. In fairness you do admit this in the first paragraph.

Yep, it took 40 years to find another manager who was successful enough to be wanted by another team. Pretty remarkable really.
However since the Ally move to Motherwell we have had managers whom other clubs wanted but did not get. In his time at Ayr Alex Stuart knocked back Dundee and Aberdeen. Willie McLean knocked back Kilmarnock to remain at Ayr.

Lets be honest any player or manger who comes to us will want to use us as a stepping stone and that's fine because if other teams are looking at them it's because they have done a good job, Maybe one for Duncan Carmichael but who's the last manager to have been poached before McCall possibly Ally when he went to Aberdeen?
Ally to Motherwell is the answer.

While I understand the sentiment and I will probably be at the game, I can completely understand supporters from any club in Scotland not wanting to have to listen to all their bile and hatred. Never had a nice experience there.
Although it's satisfying to belt out choruses of You're not Rangers any more.

The big fermer did that to Morelos the last time we were up there. Was very pleasing. Morelos was then booked for complaining about it.
I thought Jamie was going to get a red card because it looked bad. Thankfully he got away with it. Play on! Morelos went nuts and his yellow card put him over the limit and he was banned from the semi-final which they lost to Aberdeen.

He hasn't got a clue.
Going on in that interview like we're sitting 3rd in the league and we're just going through our first wobble of the season where we've maybe lost our last 2 and not won in 3 games.
We've won 1 GAME in 11, WAKE UP
Five draws though. Although I accept it's not great.

Eight players have appeared for Scotland at full international level while still attached to Ayr United. Not one is in the Hall of Fame.

Based on his reaction at the end of the game I honestly think he would be delighted to stay. He turned to the Somerset Road End and he was celebrating as wildly as the most rabid of fans.
