  1. I'd be astonished if Chalmers hasn't been identified as a target for us for next season. He'd offer us something a bit different to what we already have on the books and would be a great addition.
  2. Careful now, you might throw a spanner in the therapy session taking place in here.
  3. The main issue with league 1 is getting out of it. It's probably the worst league in Scotland because if you're a full time team there's every chance you're seen as a scalp to part time teams who will try their best to shitfest games. Throw in that you're bringing in bottom of the barrel full time players and it's a very tough gig. Airdrie will be seen as quite an attractive outfit for players next season. They've done well out of the links with Conscillium so far.
  4. We'll definitely have a higher budget than Airdrie, but I do think our budget won't have changed as much as some people believe it has from last season. There's been some ridiculous comments over how much we've been paying this season. While our players won't be cheap, we've got rid of numerous players who were underperforming or not offering their worth on 'McGlynntrest' contracts - each year they were getting incremental rises to their wages while not offering the goods on the pitch. In the last two years we've seen Brad Spencer, Tom Lang Lang, Jamie MacDonald, Ethan Ross, Jamie Gullan and Kyle Benedictus leave the club, all of whom will have been on these types of deals. Seemingly we've had people external to the club come in to review these and we've adjusted accordingly. Throw in that we've adjusted operations to be more tailored to the club ( for example we were losing an eye watering amount of potential profit from catering contracts which were negligent simply because it was how things had always been done). It's a lazy narrative chucked out by fans of some clubs (I should say, not Airdrie) who are looking at our club's growing crowds and improving picture in an attempt to feel better about their own failure to improve.
  5. I'm pretty sure Ian Murray couldn't care about what anyone in our fanbase thinks about his team selection last week.
  6. Byrne's dropped out over the last few games but it'll be interesting to see who is favoured between him and Matthews. Neither of them have really put a foot wrong for us this season.
  7. Callum had an issue with his webcam so we just went with audio only. With the editing software we use, its browser based and can be a bit of a nuisance at times. Sometimes, there'll be bits when you'd expect things like the video to be fine as it's been consistent as it's worked before, but will then play up. Just the way it is unfortunately.
  8. As swift as you could hope for from the club. Fully deserved if you're going to take bottles in and chuck them at players in a huff because they celebrate in front of you.
  9. Off the top of my head, I can think of as many occasions where Murray changed the game to get us wins. It works both ways. Murray isn't going to be infallible and I don't think he got it right on Saturday by any means, but at the same time I don't think it's fair to suggest that he's a hindrance.
  10. Said before the game there was huge Charlie Cowie vibes about that back line United had. You see their line up and think it's a prime opportunity only for us to barely test it. The line up didn't work at all, and that's at Murray's feet. We've effectively spent the second half of the season with a body in Dylan Corr who out manager deems not good enough but gets kept around. Obviously we got horrifically unlucky with Ashcroft but overall we've been let down by rigidity today. Turner as a 6 hasn't really worked, and it's a disappointment we dropped Matthews to shoehorn in another 10. Time to reset next week against an Ayr side desperate for a win.
  11. If we score an important goal at the shed end you'd better believe there'll be folk that won't be giving a f**k about 6 rows of empty seats. If anything it's less bodies to stop people getting onto the pitch. As for the game itself, both teams are so inconsistent there's a decent chance that one could lose this and be right back in the picture in a week or two. I don't think anyone will be going over the top if they win.
  12. Went from row RR right down the stairs, and pretty sure I still ended up celebrating with @Hank Scorpio. Thoroughly enjoyed the Dundee fans on the way up to the station calling Rovers cheats that day. The Scott Brown goal vs United earlier this season was very similar in that it came about from a quick restart catching the opposition off guard.
  13. Sent off Dick vs Hibs earlier this season, oversaw our bodying of Motherwell last season and was in charge for the 4-4 draw against Hamilton two seasons ago. A very mixed bag of games there.
  14. Next week will be a year since Hamilton came to Starks Park and took another smash and grab 2-1 win to end our season. That was a week after they'd been absolutely rode by Dundee.
  15. There'll be an absolute bodying here if they win the league dropping no points. Get this deleted man.
  16. Still maintaining we're playing with house money. Great opportunity, no doubt but nobody expected this back in August. We've played over half the games this season with a centre mid as a deputy centre back. Ridiculous position to be in.
