Listen boys, I'm no everyone's cup of tea on here and that's ok but I found out my granda died just before kick off. It was him that got me into Ayr, the first game he took me to was a 5-0 win so the boys did something really special for me today.
Sorry for your loss. First game with my dad was in 1963 and last before he died was 2004. I still miss him at games even now.

Do you think there's something in this? Due to his age, he's maybe not comfortable/experienced as a manager in giving people only a few years younger than him commands yet? I've seen this a few times with officers in Army and 9/10 times, once they gain experience/confidence, this settles.
I don't think it's lack of confidence. I just think he switches it around game to game and I think the younger players are maybe less set in their ways.

The way Brown talks about the youth players, seems he's very keen/been told to bring them on.
Seems to me that Brown is very keen on imparting information and players being able to do what's asked. I suspect he sees some of the young players being more malleable e.g. Bryden and Tomlinson moving in to new roles.
In terms of new signings I suspect most of them will be real team players. Dowds is a good example and sounds like Brown likes him. Would be great if we could get him signed up early.

but this guy is pretty sound.
I agree. Sometimes they're a bit cheesy but unlike the mainstream media, he's not all about the Old Firm. Covers all levels of the game in Scotland and his heart's in the right place.

Great result. Looks like we're down to the bare bones and picked up a few more knocks tonight, but that was a decent second half. We had far more composure on the ball. Credit to Nick McAllister playing on the left. I thought he put in a decent shift

f**k off - bryden when amartey is available
That aged well.

Very few positives to take from that and more pressure to get a result on Friday. Only players I'd give some credit to were Dowds ( worked hard, but if he's doing all the work where are the goals coming from), Stanger (looked the steadiest of the defence) and Tomlinson (tried to get forward and create something). Midfield were awful and McKenzie and Bryden were passengers.

What?
Tomlinson was about 10 yards off his man everytime the ball came forward.
Which was closer than McAllister had been.

Young announcer is better than Somerset Boab.

Musonda at left back going by the warm up down at the corner.
Thought he was pretty poor there against Dunfermline. Hope we can get a result but feeling glad I didn't head up today. Maybe Chalmers to come on at half time and inject some energy like he did up there last season?

In the end, you can only spend the money you’ve got
Plenty of evidence pointing to that not being true, ICT being the latest example.

First time I went to a game in Europe was Werder Bremen and was amazed you could get a beer. Bought one and realised it was a massive schoolboy error as it was minus 4 and the last thing I was needing was an ice cold pint of beer.
That's where the Swiss have got it sussed. I went to Servette and there was a guy coming through the crowd selling tots of brandy.

Strange to hear Brown say in his interview that we didn't get enough balls in to the box. That team just wasn't set up to do that Without Reading getting beyond Murphy to offer another option to Murphy cutting back, and without Chalmers on the right we just didn't have players in wide positions who were going to get the ball across. Neither Musonda nor Bryden put a cross in.

Just one on The keeper Clarke, been into the ground a couple of times 20 minutes early, only Albison and young lad been warmed up by goal keeping coach,Clarke nowhere to be seen until kick off, maybe nothing in it but if your starting why he not there
He was being warmed up before that by the coach and the two other keepers. No idea where he disappeared to.

Very poor today. In the first half Dunfermline were exposing the full backs every time they came forward. Musonda just won't do at left back. I'm 63 and I'd take him in a race.
Dunfermline did very well at flooding the midfield and McHugh and Dempsey really struggled to have any impact.
Up front, in the first half, Dowds was looking to make runs and no-one was on the same wavelength and McKenzie and Bryden were never really in the game
Given we have basically the same unbalanced squad we had under Bullen it's not hugely surprising since Brown isn't a miracle worker, but we're definitely missing Reading (!) and Stranger. I also not think McHugh is necessarily an upgrade on Sylla, and Chalmers needs to start over Bryden. I'd also be giving the new boy some intensive fitness training before the ICT game as we need a genuine full back.

That’s harsh on Willoughby but McKenzie has been equally important to us recently.
Away from home McKenzie is probably the right call. Hopefully see Willoughby later against tired legs.

Anyone heard that from July you have to buy a permit off the Council for £50 a year if you want the brown bin emptied from now on?
Only £35 through here in the capital.

On McAllister, I’m okay with him staying if he is a squad option only. Saying that - I think we should be utilising Watret as our back up RB as we don’t want to block his pathway so it probably makes sense to let Nick leave. If Brown thinks Watret needs another year on loan, then keep him.
I’m torn on Paddy, I think he has looked good under Brown so it is a shame that he got injured. He was obviously absolutely abysmal last season though.
On the assumption we won't be able to get two new fullbacks for each flank, I'd keep Reading. He's shown more this season with a decent footballer in front of him and he's more capable than McAllister at going forward, which seems to be what Brown is looking for.

Latest Championship form table has us joint top with Morton on 12 points in the 6 games since Bullen left. Arbroath clearly struggling but ICT and Dunfermline only picked up 6 so the upcoming games against that pair crucial.
Based on the opponents expected points per game, we've had the toughest run in the division.
Interestingly we are joint top scorers with Partick, but only Partick and Arbroath have conceded more goals so clear where the problem is.

Posts on here after Saturday and last night saying how we need Paddy back. How times have changed. Good to see.

Sadly, I think Arbroath will run out of games, despite getting players back, and will go down automatically.
I think the 9th placed team will come from either Dunfermline or ICT. Dunfermline are on a poor run with injuries affecting them and they need to start getting results soon. ICT seem to struggle to score goals and that could cost them.
I think us and Queens Park will start to pull away from those two.
Irrespective, I think either the Pars or ICT will have too much in the playoffs for whoever from League One.

I thought Colonel Sanders looked a bit ropey tbh. Hope he's just needing match sharpness.
I think it took him a wee while to get up to the speed of the game, but that tackle on the edge of the box was a match winner.
