Dundee United's Next Permanent Manager
MeadowArab replied to Ludo*1's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Correct me if I'm wrong, but us being given permission to speak to Mackay could just mean that he's being interviewed and not necessarily being offered the job (yet)? I hope he doesn't get it. Otherwise I don't think I'll be back at Tannadice for a long time. -

Serbia and Montenegro at the 2006 World Cup. Their 1st group game was a week (I think) after the country split into 2. -

If the games are unable to played the fairest solution I can think of is this. Before anyone argues I agree that it's not 100% fair. Assuming that football can be played again come June or July or August and that all the leagues have been abandoned but there's not enough time to restart them then a round robin tournament could be arranged for the teams currently in the playoff places plus Hearts since the league is tight and the SPFL want to avoid being sued. For example. Hamilton, Hearts, Inverness, Ayr and Dundee all play each other in one-off games at neutral venues. At the end of the tournament the top team goes to the Premiership, the remaining for 5 go to the Championship. If you include Dundee United in the tournament then, the top 2 teams go to the Premiership and the remaining teams go to the championship. The tournament could be played entirely in about 2 weeks. Thoughts?

Hmm I'm content with Watson at Full Back. If it turns out to be Reynolds at FB then I'll be pissed off. Pawlett can gtf. -

Went to see Smile at the rep last night. Absolutely outstanding. Very well written and acted. It's a shame the run isn't being extended even though every night has been sold out. -

If Bernie loses the democratic nomination would he be allowed to run as an independent? If so, what are the chances of him doing so? -

I'm selling my 2 tickets for the Cage the Elephant gig tomorrow night as me and my pal can't go anymore. I'm obviously just selling at face value, £31.70 each including all fees. The tickets are just a QR code so I can email them to whoever buys them. It's at the o2 academy in Glasgow. Doors open at 7pm. Cheers.

My tickets have arrived but my membership card hasn't.

Wormit by any chance?

Ah cheers I didn't know that. I'm guessing the resale platform will be online after the playoff have concluded?

I've been successful for both of (hopefully) Scotland's games at Hampden. Honestly didn't expect to get anything. Tbh I can only afford one. Any advice on which one I should pick? [emoji846]

From where I was sitting Powers was demanding the ball but only in the middle of the park, further up the park when we were attacking he didn't seem to demand it at all. Occasionally I saw him demanding the ball to be passed to a certain player, at least I think that's what he was doing. -
I got 4 tickets together in the lower south stand. Luckily I was in the queue before 12pm, and I got through at 1205. Tickets were paid for by 1215.

The get fit, stay fit thread
MeadowArab replied to die hard doonhamer's topic in The General Nonsense Forum
Thanks everyone for your replies. Looks like I'll be doing 1hr workouts. I've kept a food diary for the past couple of months and I usually have around 3000 calories a day, but what I eat is really the problem; rather than how much I eat. Too much sugary processed crap. I'm thinking of getting a fitbit but that'll have to wait til February cos I'm skint just now. Any other brands as good as fitbit but cheaper? -

Later this coming week, I'll be going to the gym for the first time in about 4 years. The Dundee Uni Gym are running a special offer for January if you sign up before the 13th. Currently I'm 6ft4, and I weigh bang on 22 stone. I buy jeans with a 38 inch waist or a 40 inch waist. On average I eat around 3000 calories per day, but I eat far too much sugar (fizzy drinks mostly). I drink very little alcohol. What's a realistic weight goal for me to get to by June? And how many days/hours per week will take me? I'm currently thinking of maybe doing 2hr workouts, 3 days a week. Cheers -
