  1. Mate ur too clued up for me [emoji1787][emoji1787].

I personally dont like points per game tho for this level. Teams haven't played the same level.of fixtures as other is you know what I mean some playing top of the league yeoce and other not at all.

I 1000000% agree tho that the sfa should have instructed the sjfa and the safa what was happening or at a minimum the sjfa and safa should have told all their regions what was happening.

The cups tbf give other teams a chance of silver wear who would have no chance at all in their league so keeps teams competitive for longer.

I think as long as you have free weeks available u cant really produce fixture too far in advance

You'll never please everyone but in my opinion I would reconstruct the leagues and award places based on a points by game average. I wouldn't go as far as awarding someone a league trophy but as I said, if it's good enough for the top division in Scotland to be finalised by a points per game average then why can't they do it with amateur?

The biggest mistake was the SAFA not telling each association what to do with their respective leagues.

They were quick enough to tell all clubs that they cant train etc but they wouldn't make the decision on how leagues should finish?

It should be uniformed across the country and fed down from the top to the bottom. What's the point in having a governing body who wont make the difficult decisions and have just passed the buck onto the associations to do as they please.

The SSMAFL has 16 teams in its premier division so clearly it works.

There is two local cups for all ayrshire clubs or 3 if you count the Donsport. Is there really a need for all of that?

There is an argument that with 14 teams in the premier league would be too many league games and run the risk of seasons still being played in june. Why is that an issue? Surely that's the price u pay for being successful and putting together a cup run.

Last couple of seasons you've had teams not playing for 2-3 weeks when they've only 2-3 league games left.

Another question I would ask is why cant ayrshire produce a fixture list more than a week in advance? Junior clubs and boys clubs have their fixtures 3 months in advance then if a cup competition comes into play then they take priority.

Btw the match sec has done a fantastic job over the years, not saying anything bad against him but I do feel that fixtures could be laid out for 4-6 games at a time minimum.
  2. who do u suggest should come up if its " null and void " and kept 12-12-9-9.

I agree there should be 12 but I also dont think teams should be awarded for playing half their season. Nor teams relegated with plenty in the tank to change things.

I do not for a minute think there should be a 14 team premier league. All the major leagues in the Amateur games is 12 maximum for a reason

Cowards way out with only 11 teams???? 100% agree.

If I was a team in 2A or 2B then I'd be crying out for a reconstruction.

Why would anyone want to play in a league with 9 or 10 teams then have to play each other 3 times and possibly throw in a made up cup for extra games so your season doesn't finish in February?

The AAFA have followed the guidance from sfa/safa all the way through the pandemic with the exception of proposing a premier division with 11 teams in it (which has never been done before and was always made clear at previous formation meetings that the premier had to have 12 teams, no more, no less).

You cannot just say that's it the season is finished and you all paid money and played for nothing to then be punished the next season by suspensions carried over and no relegation/promotions from a season that apparently "doesn't count".

The association need to do the honourable thing and agree to a reconstruction or go back to the setup of 12-12-10-10 and award promotion and relegation places based on a points per game average for the season just played.

If it's good enough for the top league in scotland then it's good enough for amateur football.

Changing the constitution for one season so that the premier has 11 teams next year is the cowards way out
  3. Hearing there is somewhat of a standoff between the 4/5 " hard done" by clubsin ayrshire and the league. They are demanding reconstruction for the season ahead. Are the league taking the easy way out?

I think it's the fairest way personally but can see the frustration from some and the reasons why.

What are other associations doing in the amatuer game?

  4. They didnt null and void the season in the spfl, they finished the season on current standings. At senior level only Europe's big leagues could afford to finish the season.

There was no right decisions in all this, only people with their own agendas.

England- PLAN TO FINISH THE SEASON, some players and media have a go saying they are putting a sport and money before health

Scotland senior - CURRENT STANDINGS AWARDED, Ex players, fans and media outrage, even threats of legal action to try and stop it.

Scotland junior- AVERAGE POINTSPER GAME, a club sitting miles behind on points and games win the league.... outrage.

Scotland grassroots- ALMOST ALL LEAGUES NULL AND VOID "it's a joke, ran by monkeys, dinosaurs, clowns etc.

Iv even heard some of the Rangers fans who was calling celtics title tainted suggest there amatuer club should be promoted using current standing and points per game. As I said it's a situation that there is no right answer except the one that suits individual clubs and agendas.

That would be the idea scenario muzza n get all the leagues finished. They made the decision tae null n void the leagues far 2 quick in ma eyes same with the spfl aswell.......the top of the games run by monkeys up here in scotland!!!
  5. Surely the safa would have had to make that decision at the start of all this. You surely can't have ayrshire finishing their 19/20 season in 2021 and the rest of Scotland playing the 2020/21 season.

Also even of it was allowed that would be fine for a very small number of teams. What about the vast majority of teams that have nothing to play for and waited almost a year to kick a ball. To be told u can only play your 8 competitive games u have left. Finished for march again then wait another 5 month to re start.

I feel for teams like yourselves, The Lee's, Waverly Irvine and Killie United mate but for me thats a no goer.

if grassroots football has been told it won’t be back till next year, why not restart the leagues in January, give teams the chance of promotion, winning leagues/cups. most teams have roughly 8 games left plus the teams in the cups have a bit more. Start mid Jauary and let the season finish
  6. Ah right sorry I thought u meant the rules were changed without the vote. Well to be fair how many times have we seen thistle or the Lee's finish seasons in wacky June. Adding another 4 games into that would make it ecttremy difficult. The 11 team premier league did shock me when I read it and as the Mauchline boy says, I really hope they find a way to take it to one 2nd divisions. It's a shame on the lower league teams with the way it's set up. That being said, a 20 team division would be near impossible to complete in an Amateur season

Any changes must be put forward to the league by a certain date. The league then decide if it's a viable option and if so then they put it to a vote by the member clubs. That's only if the executive committee deem the change as a reasonable option.

Just because someone suggests a change doesn't automatically mean that it will get put to a vote by the member clubs.

When the restructuring of 2a/2b was brought in, I know some of the suggested league restructuring ideas weren't put to a vote cause the league said it wouldn't work. I think (I could be wrong) that one of those was a 14 team premier but because the premier teams are likely to go further in cups than the lower leagues, it was deemed too many league games to fit into the season
  7. Constitution changes are always made by the executive committee which in itself is wrong imo.

Why ask for suggestions from clubs to make changes each year only for the committee to decide if they want to put them to a vote or not?

Surely the clubs should vote on any suggested changes at each AGM since they pay a membership fee.

Having an 11 team premier is just a joke tbh. This scenario should have been used as an opportunity to make real changes to the league setup. No reason why you couldn't run 3 leagues instead of 4
Surely the clubs should vote on any suggested changes at each AGM since they pay a membership fee.

It's been a few years since iv sat in an AGM but that's exactly what happens. Any rule changes are always voted on by the general council. I dont think any exec can change the rules without the general council voting for it. So I'm assuming that the 11 league premier would be the same.

I agree about the restructuring of the leagues. The 2a and 2b is a farce. That would surely be voted on at the AGM or league formation meeting for next season tho surely. Not at how to finish last season.
  8. Shocked it took so long to get to that outcome but for me its 100% the correct decision for our level of the game. I didn't think an 11 team premier was possible tho. Its harsh on a couple of teams in particular but I'm sure even they can see the difficulty in doing much different. Stewarton and Galston the big winners

Ayrshire leagues are null and void, start again nxt season in same league, premier will play with 11 teams.
  9. What about the first part? Where there are plenty of adults in there 30s and 40s that play amateur. I love my football but To me it seems crazy that some of these people cant go to work due to the fact they cant guarantee 2m but there is this "need" to get amateur football back while there are still thousands of people ( plenty middle aged and healthy ) dying on a weekly basis. I get we need to move on and education can be achieved safely but Recreation sport? Cmon.

Wife- im Struggling. I cant pay the mortgage this month because cutting peoples hair is too dangerous also iv not cuddled my ( healthy) niece in months.

Husband- ok honey. Can we tall about that later I'm off down scott Ellis. Big game against minishant today.

    Absolutely.
Life needs to move on we need to get back to some sense of normality. The virus isn't dangerous to 99.9% of people.
It's just about using common sense. The vulnerable need to keep shielding so you can't send your son up to hug his granny anytime soon but he shouldn't be missing out on his education and football due to a virus that isn't harmful to him in any way.
  10. Heres a question.

If it was announced today that grassroots football could start as of the 28th may ( I know it womt and 100% shouldn't) bit say it was. Would u be happy to jump straight in to it at amatuer level. If so, would u allow your kids to go and play with their own team at say 14 years old

  11. Not really sure what the safa can announce when the government cant even make a definite decision about the schools can go back. What do u expect the safa to say? They released a statement last week which was laughed at mostly on Twitter because it didnt actually say anything. In reality, What can it say tho when people in the highest power in the country don't know what tomorrow brings. Sorry Poor comment in my opinion .

True mate doesn’t help when there is no communication from the authorities of any kind.
  12. Dont worry about it mate. I was called a fearmonger on here 10 weeks ago when I suggested Amateur football should be cancelled due to the virus. I'd call u a realist. That being said I hope your wrong ofcourse.

Fearmongers?? Possibly realistic. No one knows but its reasonable to suggest its once a vaccine or treatment is discovered as we have been told lockdown will be relaxed but social distancing remain.
  13. Mate surely u arent serious. Maybe in normal circumstances but in the examples above is almost 2 clear cases of some sort of un toward. I know which one I'd rather.

Or shirked responsibility. Better a boss that can make a decision, even when sometimes wrong, than one that cant make a decision.
  14. So the SFA and the SJFA look like they have both disgraced themselves with hiw to compete the season. No wonder the SAFA have dodged the bullet and left it to individual associations to decide for themselves.

  15. Major summer of u certainty for all ayrshire clubs.

Keeping your own players from other Amateur teams and from the new WOSL could be an issue. There will be some that will obviously cope better than others. I can see some teams folding and alot that may keep going but could be unrecognisable next season. I know it would and could never happen but It would be great if players actually showed some loyalty for the coming season to allow clubs to get back on their feet.

The financial impact of covid is going to cause so much uncertainty with less sponsorship opportunities. That alone could put more clubs than normal to the wall without the added pressures of losing players as well.

Yes its part of football but as I say this is completely unchartered waters both financially and competitively

As of today players can sign for other sides. How hard is it keeping squads together seen as they’ve not been together in so long and will we see more teams going to the wall than usual?
  16. Would this be based on this season's top 3 in the first or last seasons 4th5th6th placed finish in the first, as it would make a difference as to who replaced then from league 2a and 2b.

Crosshouse , Irvine and west Kilbride all to be promoted into the premier making it a 14 team Premier and rest of league to be reconstructed ,
  17. Who is the one that misses out from the starting 11? Gary broadfiled ? What a player he was before he turned to the weights

    10. Gilgannon
    9. Rico
    8. Mason
    7. Robertson
    6. Philipson
    5. Caddis
    4. Farrell
    3. Gold
    2. Knapp
    1. Mullen

Hurlford Thistle 2011-12. IMO the best team to ever win the Scottish Cup

  18. Maybe there is a reason for that. I'm thinking is it possibly something to do with inside info. The president of the SAFA sits on the ayrshire committee. I'm completely speculating but maybe he is waiting for some sort of news before advising ayrshire committee

  19. I know this is a bit of a joke thread set up by a spam account but actually a great question.
    For me

    10 M. O'connor
    9 M.McCabe
    8 R. Caddis
    7 G. Orr
    6 R. Robertson
    5 B. Mason
    4 A. Parker
    3 J. Gold
    2 M. Mullen
    1 K. Knapp

Yes I like goals and only say McCabe at the very end of his career. Still superb. I'm sure iv missed plenty that could get in there tho.
