  1. Franchises from Dubai, China and the US are probably inevitable in this.
  2. It's also worth noting that the general disgust and outrage from the fans and the threats of expulsion from governing bodies was probably already factored in by these c***s before they went public.
  3. It's maybe a good thing that the elephant in the room is now out in the open. But, whether this goes ahead or not, it simply cannot be business as usual after. A 12 year old article. https://amp.theguardian.com/football/blog/2009/may/14/nationalise-premier-league-steven-wells?__twitter_impression=true
  4. UEFA's new Champions League proposals show us that the horse has already bolted on this subject anyway. Expanded tournament, guaranteed places for 'historic performance' is just another step on the road to a Super League with a thin veneer of accessibility. If this Super League doesn't go through at this time, it won't be long until it does.
  5. Yeah, it was a good world cup. It was also awarded at a time when they were invading the Donbas and saw half of the committee members who voted to award it banned for life or prosecuted for corruption. FIFA don't give a f**k, they've already been looking at an expanded 24 team Club World Cup which could easily tie into this, bankrolled by private equity and some of the same people behind the ESL. Accelerated globalisation and taking money and power away from UEFA, is absolutely something that FIFA would be interested in.
  6. FIFA will be bought off. No chance they deprive the World Cup, their number one earner, of all the top players. Institutionally corrupt, they awarded world cups to Russia and Qatar, you think a European Super League is where they draw the line ?
  7. This may still turn out to just be a power play from these clubs to wrestle more money and concessions from UEFA in Champions League reforms. But, this is the natural consequence of what has come before. The EPL, UEFA and Sky's opposition is welcome, but let's not forget that they are the ones who have long sowed the seeds of this situation. They are the ones who have invited nation states, oligarchs, corporations and other predatory motherfuckers into our game to run our clubs and competitions, to the detriment of our game. Their mewlings about 'meritocracy' and 'the good of the game' can get filed straight in the bin. Their only concern is that the geese who lay the golden eggs are going to set up their nests elsewhere. Success in football has nearly always been down to who has the most money, but it's beyond that now. Too much money, but morally and ethically bankrupt with very little regulation. (unironically) The game is gone.
  8. Really good game with very little in it until the end. Looking at the analysis, once you took the pawn and I moved my rook to the back rank it went from +0.98 to +11.7. The black squared bishop is really strong in Kings Indian games and White really needs to trade it off early or keep the board as closed as possible to negate it.
  9. Assuming Christie, Ajer And Eduoard all leave, minus Turnbull and McGregor, Celtic are going to need practically a whole new team in the summer.
  10. Eduoard just cannae be arsed with these jokers he's playing with now.
  11. This is a lot better from Celtic last 10 minutes.
  12. Any chance of a traditional OF 'shame game' today lads ?
  13. Why would you ever take the cap off ?
  14. I too watch as the BBC hires a never ending conveyor belt of former conservative chairmen, candidates and members as political editors and come to the conclusion that they are a deeply left wing organisation.
  15. I don't think the Tories using the words self determination would particularly play well with anyone outside of the real hardcore unionists. Stuff like separation and divorce work better for them, rather than saying outright, 'we don't believe Scots should have the power to determine their own statehood'
  16. It's becoming quite the holding pen for angry right wing da's.
  17. I'll be honoured to stand alongside Oaksoft in the trenches when the revolution comes.
  18. This sort of thing has been endemic for a while. It's pretty telling that the Tories are now so open and brazen about it and it barely registers more than an Alan Partridge shoulder shrug gif and not even a dent in the polls. The manufacturing consent machine has been going brrr for about 40 years now. Looking forward to 'this is good actually' from our media class when Rishi Sunak's auntie who runs a dildo factory is awarded 600 million quid to build HS2 tracks.
