Celtic and Hearts B Teams in Lowland League?
Am Featha Taigh Nan Clach replied to falski's topic in Lowland League
Pull the drawbridge up on this midden of a league. -
A combination of factors. Some of them are as follows 1. An excellent goalkeeper. The dross we've had for the last two years were costing us 10+ goals a season 2. Buchanan has been a real upgrade on Crichton and has formed a great partnership with Nicky Jamieson 3. Being 'fortunate' in signing the fullbacks Kinlay Bilham and Eden Lynch. Both were brought in as squadfillers and have massively outperformed expectations. 4. More dynamism in central midfield. Nat Wedderburn looks more trim and we don't have Ross Forbes plodding about. 5. Matty Aitken's work ethic and ability to hold things up, although isn't as good as it could be, is streets ahead of what Tam Orr was offering 6. Having pacey/tricky wingers on both sides means we're less predictable when moving the ball out wide. Previously it was more obvious it was going left to Euan O'Reilly and teams could double up on him more easily. 7. General team spirit. We had a pre season friendly in Jersey and the players had a night out together afterwards. I doubt there's usually a boozy weekend allowed during pre season and I think the players got to know and like each other very early on. 8. We've been very, very lucky with injuries. We've got a small squad with litte depth but apart from Ross Taylor being out for about 6 weeks, I don't think anyone in the current best 13 has missed more than a game or two 9. Naysmith seems like a sensible and well respected manager. He was able to immediately identify the flaws of the team last year, initaially shore things up defensively and then bring in a decent calibre of player.

It's when a new owner, who is a legitimate businessman, wants to invest in a club because he loves football and not because he wants to conceal the orgin of funds. -

Clyde Season 23/24

In his one season with us, Lyon was pretty good. He was eventually replaced at right back by Adam Corbett (now first choice right back at Kelty) but had a period of doing a decent job at left back too. I think most people would have been happy to retain hin. I'm surprised he's been so bad. -

It obviously changes year to year, league to league but as far as I can see it's about 17% chance of a draw. I think coming back to get a point (or three) away from home is far, far, less likely than I thought it was. -

I had a look at some stats from various leagues/levels and if the home side scores first, the away team only win between 10 and 13 % of the time. From the info posted earlier, Dumbarton's win % is 10% when going behind away from home is probably what you'd expect. Last night I was trying to find info about Stenny conceding first away from home and going on to win under John Coughlin. He was in charge for 3 years and I can only remember it hapening once! I have probably misremembered but couldn't find a site that showed the minutes the goals were scored. -

Financial arrangements in relationships.

We have a joint account for mortgage, bills etc plus sub accounts for holiday savings and suchlike. The rest is in our own accounts to spend/save as we please. This sounds like a terrible thing to say but I think I'd be a little bitter if my wife earned significantly less than me and I/we couldn't have a 'nice' lifestyle as a result. -

A draw, with Spain scoring in the first minute so I can relax a little then a Norway equaliser with the the last kick of the game.
